It's ironic that the era that Andrew's teacher hated was when most likely when seth was head writer lol
That says a lot about Saturday Night Live and how long it's been on the air: anyone's who's watched it and liked it has their favorite era, whether it's the "Not Ready for Primetime" era or the current seasons (though most fans will agree that Jean Doumanian's era, that season when Lorne Michaels came back and almost killed his own show, and season 20 weren't good seasons, though they did have at least one bright spot that saved them from total disaster: Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo for the Jean Doumanian era, Dennis Miller's Weekend Update [and Jon Lovitz being his hammy self] for that bizarre 11th season [though I also liked Terry Sweeney and Danitra Vance and it's a shame they weren't recognized in their time], and of course, Norm Macdonald's Weekend Update for season 20).
Did anyone else read the word "ironic" and think, "Okay, time to strap in for something that's not ironic" ?
@@dianapevtsovI think it would be ironic if we were made of iron
@@dianapevtsov you’re right, I was using ironic in a more colloquial way, that was a fun jackal answer!
I love this dude. He is such a solid cast member I hope he’s around for the next ten years.
yes hes definitely a stand out
I never really noticed him until this year but he's killing it. Joker wedding and Jumanji were outstanding and comedy gold!
I always love when Seth interviews former/current SNL cast members, friends talking!
you would the fly on the wall podcast
It's great when previous SNL cast members are on, especially when they do Second Chance Theater!
so glad snl is giving him a chance to do some publicity! andrew is one of my favorite cast members and a standout in this new era, destined for great things ahead
Dismukes is probably my favorite young castmember. I appreciate his comedy style so much
Every skit with him and Lizzo had me rolling in laughter.
Andrew is so funny! I hope he does a stand-up special for Netflix or something. I love his deadpan look.
I'm picturing Andrew's French teacher being all Jebediah Atkinson as he reviews the show each week.
that was my thought as well
Same thought! Made me wonder if he's working on reviving the bit. I could see him playing the role. But I don't know the precedent of reviving/ recasting original characters though... the way that impressions get passed down.
SNL has lost a lot of great people in the last couple of years, but with additions like Dismukes and Sarah Sherman I feel like the show is in good hands.
--Cue the haters who constantly say "SNL" was only good when X" ("X" being, most likely, when they were young and everything seemed better).
Agreed I think Dismukes and Sherman are incredibly strong, confident and unique performers
SNL was only good when "Appalachian Emergency Room".
I'm on your side. Chloe, too.
As long as I like the guest host, they're batting over .500 with me, and Update is *always* a home run, even if their social media people can't be bothered to get the segments in *order* in the YT playlist -- why they don't just run it as a single segment escapes me completely, but at least don't make me hunt...
And the Film Unit is almost *always* a win.
I notice people who try to crap on the current snl always lovingly prop up some era that you know that they were critical of at the time anyway. you cant win.
Also am loving James Austin Johnson, Bowen Yang and Heidi Gardener!
It's good to see that Jay Baruchel has gotten more confident over the years.
Aww. He's adorable. I loved those skits with the dog-head man. It's even funnier watching the cast break during the skits.
I can't stop watching the joker wedding skit. It gets funnier every time.
And I said I wanted to be Joker ever since last Halloween when I saw a guy dressed like Joker and I said next Halloween I wanna dress like Joker!!!
@@YayWei320 I know but when you said you were gonna do that I said to not do that!
OMG I just saw that for the first time today and it's brilliant. And the Jumanji sketch. He sure has a way with words!
He’s so funny on the show
Omg that dog sketch has always been one of my chaotic favorites. He did a great job!
it was done 50 times on youtube first. thats the prob...
That dog sketch was great-fun to see Mikey trying not to break on his own sketch! And Andrew is really stepping up this season. Wish the interview was longer.
Dismukes is a really sharp talent - he wrote (and acted in) the brilliant SNL short "A Christmas Epiphany" that featured Austin Butler in a parody of "It's a Wonderful Life".
Andrew is doing great on SNL and I'm really enjoying his stuff.
Andrew is sooooooooo BEAUTIFUL. Sooooooooo BEAUTIFUL. He's my number one cast member of SNL. Sooooooooo BEAUTIFUL. LOVE him.
Might want to take 20-30% off there, big shoots.
It's so nice to see Forehead Jackson getting on the talk shows
"Do you have any questions for me?" A question asked in almost every interview would just hit different asked by Lorne. He has to get a good laugh from seeing what comedic people say and do during the interview process. Not to mention the nerve racking but probably hilarious thoughts that must go through their mind.
Wild that Taran was his French teacher.
Ha that occurred to me too
Andrew has really come into his own over the past year on SNL. He is so down-to-earth and boyishly charming. I love his comedic style. Keep it up, Andrew! 💜😂💜
Drink every time he hits his hand
Haven't seen Andrew since da summatime good to see he's doing well
I know he's had lots of camera experience but considering that was his first talk-show experience, he nailed it!
yeah thinking the same thing. Fallon should have him on.
he is so cute
I remember at first he didnt make a big impression but in recent years hes really stepped up and now with many of the main stays gone I'm excited to see him and a lot of the other newer folk to get the limelight.
The past two episodes of SNL were some of the best content the show has ever produced.
You haven’t watched that much
@@imadawg2833 yep
Fr on a great upswing this season
@@imadawg2833 neither have you obviously
@@casmatt99 binging every episode ever and on season 19 try again next time dude
I would be totally fine if all Seth did was bring in a new _SNL_ cast member every night and introduce them to us so we get to learn about their origin story (and Lorne stories)
I haven’t watched SNL since about 2012 but even I agree with that
He always does so good
He's def my fav of the newer castmembers. So happy he's getting more recognized and is doing talk shows now! But every time I see him, I can't help but think he looks like a younger, cuter John Mulaney.
That skit where he's the dog's hands is great. Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it!
Love seeing more of Andrew! One of my favorite newer cast members
For the longest time, I was under the impression that Pete was the dog’s hands in that sketch lol
he has been crushing it in sketches lately! Glad he's getting some recognition :)
Flip-flop ya don't stop.
He's gonna get another call from his manager about slapping his leg when he talks.
Andrew is an awesome additon to the cast!
Saw him live when he was still a writer, super excited to see him on the show now. He’s had some great sketches.
What a smooth brother, especially for his first interview
The leg slap, tho
He is currently the funniest cast member in my opinion!❤
He's easily the best actor, but funniest goes to Kenan.
Him and Sarah are bossing it
The bully sketch with Krasinski playing his older brother is one of the funniest sketches in the last 5 years
I think they got a few good new kids for this new generation. Andrew, Bowen, Sarah and Michael Longfellow are all clever and funny.
James Austin Johnson is the new bill for impressions and I love him
Love this guy
I love Andrew!! I wish he got to work with Beck and Kyle more, because their sensibilities seem so similar
Important! If someone at 30 Rock reads this, tell someone at SNL to add the cast introduction to the cold open video uploaded to youtube. There are a lot of us who watch SNL on youtube and I didnt know andrew's name till now because i never see the credits. Modern snl cast members are losing out on that name recognition among the entire audience that watches on this platform and they deserve to have that.
Andrew is the guy who will tell you a dirty joke, who you will also take home to your parents.
oh my god that dog/human hybrid thing is one of my favorite sketches! can't believe that andrew dismukes was the arms
I love him
"Flops? DON'T BRING THAT HERE"
Dudes funny my guy. He's got good timing and can really play the roll.
You gotta use your French teacher's persona as a character on the show. Like, have someone acting as him doing a halftime show of the live show itself!
His description made me think of Taran Killam's Weekend Update character: Jedediah Atkinson, a scathing theater critic from the 1800s. It made me wonder if he's planning to revive that bit, or maybe a spinoff where he's the brother or son.
I’m convinced that if a guest backs out last minute production books SNL cast members 🤨 well played Seth
"Bowen Goin' Off"
a future segment?
Old Maw Maw watching brink was great 👍 hope to see weekend update segments with Andrew in this season.
I’m not a regular SNL viewer, usually just catching sketches or Weekend Update on CZcams. But I did catch the dog sketch and remember thinking how well the hands managed improv with the affable Setter.
i like him!
Aw man, Forehead’s doing a great job on the show. So proud.
Bro is caked up lol 😅😊😂
loveLOVElove, andrew!! love 'im!
finally a dismukes interview! this guy fuckin rocks
He's growing on me.
Sick Beat
Wasn't 100% certain about this dude but last week's SNL with Michael B. Jordan, they did a skit called Male Confidence Seminar and Andrew was hilarious. Looking forward to seeing more from him!
I love his tx swag
Anyone else notice the edit after Andrew said “Flops? Don’t bring them heah?” Did he drop a Cajun slur or sumpin’…
Sounds like Tim Robinson at 6:43
I’m so happy for Drew Gooden!
might be in love with him
It's cool that Andy shops at the same clothing store as bobby boucher and his papa.
I swear I was just watching the show with m’lady & said, “He’s my new guy.”
Yay Andy
He's a lucky kid, see how he develops.
Andrew slapped his leg 97 times in this interview.
wow, at the end this Andrew guy is doing Seth in the "yeah . . " part
Very very funny guy.
S/o to the sound guy for having the mic and clip match his jacket color, looks very nice
this seems like such a him thing to do 😂
He reminds me of Jay baruchel
Such a sweet guy. Does he have a tick or just nerves? He slaps his knee periodically throughout the interview.
I like to play a game each season, guessing which new casts won't lasts, he was one but he's still here. Also "guy who bought a boat" and the Heidi but they both went well. But I've gotten a lot right too 😅
This interview almost makes me wish I still watched SNL.
My favorite Andrew Dismukes SNL sketch was the "Castaway" parody with Jason Momoa doing the Tom Hanks part and Chloe Fineman playing the Helen Hunt part. Andrew played Kelly's husband, who's more than a little bit put off that his wife's ex-boyfriend, recently returned after being stranded on a deserted island for five years, is coming over for dinner. At one point, Momoa spills a glass of wine on himself and is "forced" to remove his shirt. Of course, the audience broke out in applause for this. But then Andrew's character takes his shirt off, too, to try and match Momoa's hyper masculinity. I LOVED that the audience gave Andrew a BIGGER round of applause for having the guts to go mano a mano, shirtless, with Jason Momoa. That audience reaction made me laugh harder than the actual comedy on the screen.
He looks like Alfred E. Newman
He was a writer?? Does anyone know like when he wrote stuff, and some stuff he wrote?
And every time I watch one of these segments, I wonder...
Is Lorne the EP for *this* show, as well? :-)
Forehead sketch with MBJ lol
Down at the lake beach funny
I expected him to show up dressed like JOHHHKKEER
Monsieur Hanks!
Is this the child of John Mulaney and Pete Davidson?
The producers got the story about Paul Simon, then told wardrobe to dress him like Paul Simon
And now Paul Simon lives in Texas!
I like Andrew Dismukes! He has definitely stepped up as a 'SNL' cast member!
He looks like he is 12, but talks like he is 60.
Wow, I broke my spine a couple of years ago, but I too could pretend to be tall with these shoes
When did Andrew start writing for the show? His teacher sounds suspiciously like that Taran Killiam character, Jebidiah Atkinson.
correction: it’s peh-dro not pay-dro
And hey, what if we put, like, a SICK ASS treasure map on this thing?!?
czcams.com/video/q81ft5ipvNM/video.html
It wouldn't be for babies.
I think he's so fine 😅
damn how involved are managers that they get info on what their client was wearing to work. who would even snitch to her?
No wonder everyone thought the hands were Pete
Was he even in the Pedro Pascal episode? Why was he interviewed this week lol
