I appreciate the fact that no matter how much love and attention you place into making these pieces, that you are still able to give them some pretty rigorous testing at the end of each vid. Keep up the great work!

Fairly realistic in design, would pass for 14th to 15th century tournament helmet, especially with the crest dressing on top. Would expect to see something like that in the pre games parade through town. A tournament was as much about pageantry as skill for the armor itself had to make a statement about the accomplishment and prestige of those wearing it.
    Love watching the process.

Sucesso e prosperidade!

What's this process happening at 27:03 that turns the steel into a golden hue? I want to know more about this in particular! Is it similar to steel browning/bluing or is it more of a staining process?

When you make the steel slightly hot, and then take a brass brush and brush the steel it leave's this "goldish" shine on the steel :)

Just to think the skills required to make that sort of helmet back in the medieval era. No electric drills, no saws, no welding machines. Just you, a sheet of metal, an anvil, a furnace, and a bunch of tools operated purely with hands

By the period the helmet fits (late 1400's) they did have water powered hammers... Since the 1100's. Greece and Rome had the. Around 300 bc. China is believed to have them earlier still. From what I understand it was the reemergence in medieval Europe that led them to being used for armor and weapons forging in some of the grand armories of Europe.

Question! 🙋🏼‍♂️ when you heat up the steel and wire wheel it with what appears to be brass, does this act as a layer of rust prevention? Or is it purely aesthetic?
