Love it, check engine, low tire pressure and oil change lights, all lit.
Because evidently, the only thing that matters is the exhaust. if you get stranded on the side of the road somewhere, at least it sounded good for a while.

Leaving the resonators on eliminates the nasty "rap".
By just doing a muffler delete you get a nice throaty rumble.

That truck sounds like an untuned instrument being blown as loud as it can blow but like you said it needs a crossover pipe and a nice straight through muffler and it'll be 🎵🎶😮👌
I have a 2017 5.0 , no cats 3inch pipe all the way back with a wicked flow and it is so much louder than this it’s not even a compilation

Usually a little more quiet, because as the metal warms up, it's somewhat softer and more absorbent.
I did true dual straights on my 5.0 and it bogged so hard and was way too clappy. Had to get an X pipe and now it feels even better than before. Does crossing the pipes like this actually do anything?
Balances exhaust pulses and promotes scavenging. Also doesn't sound like a clap piped pile

@@christophermix6845 I've personally owned 2 true dualed vehicles and about 8 with x/h pipe setups. True duals can sound nice depending on pipe size and muffler combination. This trucks mistake was going 2.25" piping. The small the pipe, the higher the rasp/clap factor, combine that with no muffler or resonator and you get this. I had a 2.5" true dualed Crown Vic with flowmaster super 44s and it sounded incredible, but I also had that same setup on a older Ram and it was questionable lol!
@@Admiral_Potato41 my experience has been bad always clapps under load even with mufflers. But funny how different motors react differently to different setups. But a good clean sounding exhaust can be tricky to achieve. But you need a muffler/resonator if you're running exhaust pipe wether it has cats or not. Then throw long tube headers in the mix and it's even more complicated. haha
@@christophermix6845 Haha totally agree. I'm running into that issue on my Suburban now, it's got LTs and a catless Y with a Magnaflow muffler now. I'm mixed on the sound, it's been through far too many versions already lol. I'm gonna try Spintechs with a equal length x piped dual setup next I think. I agree though, normally true duals don't sound all that great. The Ram I had was setup that way by the previous owner and the Vic I did myself but, that was strictly because I wanted a obnoxious ex cop car and it accidently came out sounding half way decent 😂

Sounds okay at higher rpms. But that low rpm sounds terrible. Should've put an x pipe on it or even better yet the trombone loop. Honestly the Y pipe into single systems like the corsa catback sound better than this. Dont understand the obsession with true duals on vehicles that cant have the pipes be equal length. Always end up with uneven exhaust pulses that cause that choppy/clappy sound.
I feel you bro I have true duals without a crossover. They sound clappy and lack tone and character. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 that's about to get TSP 2" primary headers, equal length x pipe made for it a full crossover, not a trombone loop. I was also thinking about cutting up the 4-1 merge collectors and putting 4-2-1 merge collectors on them. I'm still on the fence about buying Corsa mufflers because of the price, so I'm thinking Black Widow Widow Makers.
@@cymbalenthusiast3265 that should improve the tone getting a crossover pipe and making the pipes as equal as possible. It's crazy the difference equal length pipes make. The f150 Raptors went from sounding like 90s chevy luminas with the muffler rotted off to GTR/350z/370z sounding by adding the trombone loop. Anyone doubting the benefits should watch some CZcams videos on equal length 180 degree headers, 8 into 1 headers, and 6 into 1 headers.

I went 2.5 and lost a lot of power, had to do an X pipe to get the power back. 3 would probably be even slower
That engine stock doesn't make enough power to benefit from 3" true dual system.

Can someone tell me why the 5.0 sounds different in a truck versus the mustang is it the length of the exhaust ?
Most of the difference is from the mustang having nearly equal length pipe from the collectors to the bumper vs the trucks having unequal length pipe due to the gas tank location and forcing the pipes to be ran down one side of the truck just after the collectors. Causes the sound at the exit of the pipes to be uneven due to exhaust pulses.
Different exhaust manifolds is the main reason
@@jmc6000 the exhaust manifolds on for example a 2018 mustang gt vs a 2018 f150 5.0 are pretty similar. How they collect, primary length, etc. The tubular vs cast construction isnt going to give that sound difference. Exhaust pulses and the uneven length from the collector back are the main cause for the differences. If I could post pictures in here I would of a stock 18 mustang gt manifold and a stock 18 f150 5.0 manifold. As an owner of a 20 f150 5.0 I've been interested in getting the sound as close to a mustang as possible. Equal length after the collectors is the way to get there.
Different camshafts and firing orders, headers are different designs, and the 5.0 F150s use a single exit exhaust while the 5.0 Mustang has an X pipe.
@@user-lz3sv5sw9u depends on the years regarding coyote firing order car vs truck. The mustang's have consistently used the old flathead firing from 2011-present. The trucks switched back to the mod motor firing order in 2015. Manifolds are pretty similar between the two 4-2-1 shorty designs with the same cylinders being merged on the y. Mustang is tubular vs cast iron on the f150. Someone recently put the spd trombone loop on their f150 5.0 with a dual exhaust and it changed the exhaust tone significantly in the direction of the mustang's vs the truck in this example with unequal length true duals.

Loud is cool for like 10-15 minutes😂 it sounds so cheap imo. X pipe and super 40s would smooth things out at least, but I’d go for something even more quiet as I get older.

I've learned my lesson. Straight pipe is nice for a while, but it's gotten old for me. I'm having a resonator put on next week, and a quality muffler if that isn't enough.
If it sounds like this on the exterior, the interior is just awful. Which like I said, it's fun for a while! Hope there isn't many inclines because it gets worse going uphill.
