Something that turned me away from US is that they are guaranteed muskuloskeletal injuries. Theres really nothing to prevent it. I have gotten an US done a couple times and both techs said they have MK injuries as well as all of their colleagues. I was also following a girl on youtube who is an US tech 2 years into the profession, she injured her shoulder and had to get surgery. She's only in her twenties! It does NOT matter if you practice good ergonomics. You're not just scanning women's abdomens for a baby, you have to do all these other tests with patients who could be 5 times your weight and it hurts your hands/body after awhile.

Also, it’s good to have options from X-Ray, CT , MRI & ultrasound. Hope this helped some 🙏🏽

In Cali, Ultrasound salaries are on par with RN salaries. Going from ultrasound to RT would be a drastic pay cut.
