I’m a United 787 pilot. Just landed in Tokyo last night, Dec 14, 2023. Flight 881 from Chicago. Your trip was very interesting to me! I would love to take that train ride someday on my layover. We leave tomorrow and fly to Los Angeles and layover, then back to Tokyo, layover then back home to Chicago. Cheers and Merry Christmas!
I will be on that flight 02/29/2023
Синканзе ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is such a beautiful train and it looks like you had a great time. I'm American but I think I would have chosen the Japanese meal option too.
Thanks! I always enjoy traveling with you!
Thank you!🤝
I'm sorry to inform but since 2016 Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland is the current longest main railway tunnel. Seikan is the second longest one now. 😓
The drivers must be highly skilled to drive the Shinkansen. Are you going to show videos during the snowy winter in Japan? I really liked those a lot.
'highly skilled'?
Why?
Do they ever need to turn the steering wheel?
So stupid.
For one, you need to follow instructions and timetable by the second, requiring focus for the entire trip. While bullet trains have automatic controls, those automated functions are mostly reserved for emergencies.
Now, can you operate a train with pinpoint accuracy, departing and arriving at the designated stations by the exact second and centimeter without relying on autopilot?
No? Then stamp the big stupid on your forehead, which should be done *before* commenting here.
I know his speed in the snow season is slower than usual because it is slippery and also less stable, not to mention that they only rely on hot water fountains that don't melt it enough, extreme temperatures
Yes, training for train drivers in Japan is very intensive and very precised.
I always think of Matsuo Basho's Oku no Hosomichi
often translated as "The Narrow Road to the Deep North"
when folks travel to Hokkaido.
Kuga...I'm so disappointed, you didn't order a Blueberry muffin! LOL 😂
I should be typing this in green, for envy! Japanese shinkansen are so sleek and spotless! I forgive you your "glass" play on words. Frankly, I'm very impressed by your command of English to be able to do that.
Been there in Hakodate last August visited Mt Hakodate observatory and Guryukako park sad because we only had limited time.
My that was a fantastic video kuga ❤❤❤❤
Interesting video from this trip.
nice to see you home again
As always a great video. Yet it feels oddly familiar, is this by chance a reupload?
Most likely.
Yea, pretty sure I've seen this before too.
Why do I feel like I've seen this before?
I think it's a repost.
ThanksMuch!

My pleasure! Thank you for the experience.
This was so cool! I would love to ride this.
I'm finding that while watching your channel when I'm having a bad day ... your videos make me happier. Thank you!
LIKE!
Thanks for this video. As it happens I was watching your video on my iPad a week later inside the same train heading the same way in gran class! Eating the same cake too! :-)
Perfect 👍
Great video. And I love when you show a bit of yourself in the video. It makes it more personal and nice. And the line about dignity was so funny! haha
Good job, Thank you
I really appreciate it
Very nice. Thank you.
Thanks for taking us, Kuga
Sweet.
I did Gran Class Tokyo - Hanada five days ago.
Nice seats.. but, honestly... not much leg room.
I will be doing your trip first week of March.
Thanks for this!
I love your adventures and your jokes!! Cannot wait to see more!
久我さん、今回もリラックスできる楽しい動画をありがとう!
Great trip
Makes want to travel. Nice video :)
Děkuji, líbí se mi tvá tvorba, zajímavé a moc ráda sleduji tvá vida 👌😊
Your country seriously knows how to eat.
3:45 That's quite the understatement. 😂
Thanks!
Thank you!🤝
Great train ride.
I rode Sapporo to Tokyo back in April in lowly business class. The part from Sapporo to Shin Hakodate takes forever
Yes but the sight on the Super Hokuto limited express was great (for me at least).
@@kamikakushi_ But they do use powerful tilting diesel trains.
@@fumiotsuki5027 Also yes, I actually like the sound the diesel engine makes. Especially when it accelerates.
@@kamikakushi_ Sparsely population in Hokkaido means it is no point to tun the electric trains except the suburban trains around Sapporo and shorter intercity trains from Chitose apt to Asahikawa via Sapporo. Same situation apply for those in Shikoku island and between Okayama and cities in cities in Sain-in region.
Good video 😀
I love the shape of japanese trains. Here in Italy we have highspeed railways but you are and will be always the first! Have you ever been on Maglev? Or is it only a sperimental concept?
The maglev line is currently under construction and might be operational by 2040s.
@@johnvincent1595 2040??i will be 55..ok😌
The Linear Chuo Shinkansen, which connects Tokyo and Nagoya, is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2027. (There is a concern that there will be a slight delay due to political issues.)
Very advanced construction have create
Shout out to my favourite beer @ 1:20
I’m a snowboarder from England and dream of travelling to your country as it’s known as Japow because of the deep powder mountains. 🥶 One day! ❄️ P.s love your videos, they’re so relaxing. 🤘🏻
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I swear I have seen so many Japanese travel videos many times with the same E5 shinkansen and grand class and most of the time I already thought. Didn’t they done a video on it already? 🤔
The speed is a LOT faster than trains in the USA!
in my city of Santa Fe, trash and litter, cover every inch of the city, like a landfill
How long does it take to pass through the Seikan tunnel?
what a sexy train!
Ha ha can you imagine Amtrak train at 320km?😂
DONE.
Hello🖐👍👍
Bullet train under ground parking stations car lift and shift only voice command and voice match
Wait, do you has an App for the Speed of the train, or is this GPS? 😮
Try high speed train Indonesia from Jakarta to Bandung
While the CR400AF is definitely faster, the infrastructures that support the Tohoku and Hokkaido shinkansen line where this Hayabusa train operates is better in my opinion.
Station all Olympic games have ready to 2034 upper sports zone world standards
Boa viagem no trem bala Japão
Wow our Indonesia high speed train named whoosh can reach 350 kmph,
Do u go underwater?
The Shinkansen line doesn't reach Sapporo?
I believe this final leg of the high-speed line, from Hakodate to Sapporo, is still under construction, and is projected to open later this decade. So for now you can only take the Shinkansen north as far as Hakodate - about a 4-hour trip from Tokyo - but for now, you then have to take regular trains from Hakodate to Sapporo, which’d be another 4-hour trip.
@@danopticon Well that means that unless a future Shinkansen hovers over the sea, Okinawa will never be part of the grid 😜
This system have create
aa i want to ask if we dont use shinkansen still have normal train to go to hokkaido?? or still can use shinkansen?
When the Hokkaido Shinkansen opened, the voltage of the overhead wires in the submarine tunnel was changed and the track equipment was dedicated, so it is currently used only on the Shinkansen. I miss the sleeper train from Tokyo to Sapporo.
@@britishtank1401 yes, it's true, I also saw him building a tunnel in the hakodate area and I'm not sure where he's going, maybe it's a bit far to get to the capital of Hokkaido
TBH, the Western meal looked more like Japanese food
Nonalcoholic wine is basically sparkling grape juice… Mostly meant for children. Lol

Why always same clothes??
so much plastic waste :-( :-(
It is ALL recycled; Japan is very good at recycling, 80 percent of trash is recycled
@@allentoyokawa9068 Japan is also very good at over packaging things. Regardless, using less plastic in the first place is better than having it around to recycle.
Why is the hood of Shinkansen Hayabusa trains so big? Is it because it has to house the Electro Magnetism mechanism?
There is a coupler at the nose of these E5 series (the green one) and E6 series (the red one).
It opens like a pacman 'mouth' but horizontally.
Can anyone explain why coupling is done with another train, with clarity?
The connected red train (E6 series Shinkansen) branches off towards Akita at a station along the way. It is possible to run trains for two destinations at the same time on the same schedule, and it also has the advantage of making it easy to change the number of train sets between peak and off-peak periods.
@@britishtank1401 Thank you so much. In fact, it's a good and unique idea to save time, money and other resources when a station is on the way. It's like one train hitch hiking a ride. Finally, they part ways with a saying - You go your way and I will go my way. I hope my understanding is right or correct 💯%
