Than i found out about the dungeon Browser and rushed through them, cleared Molten core unaware of its even molten core because as a kid i never made it this far. @@cencil6497 It's no more a "real" MMO than any other MMO. Get out of here with that.
      Classic has been and always will be people with rose tinted glasses on that can't handle change. The world of gaming has shifted in the last 15 years and Classic just isn't good anymore. It worked back when it came out, butthe climate of gaming has changed completely. Classic consists of hardcore try-hard players, people using dungeons to boost instead of enjoying them, and elitists-- the same thing retail is full of. You can't fix the community and it will never be the way it way it was back then. Plus, let's not pretend that Classic didn't have massive problems of it's own. I like that people can go back and enjoy the game they loved and get that nostalgia fix, but this Vanilla WoW elitism is just... gross.

      In Shadowlands, from what I could play on PTR (one of the quests is glitched thanks to hunters so you can only get so far unless you play AT server reset time), they had class specific quests to unlock specific spells.
      The two I got to play were Druid and Shaman. On Druid you had a quest to unlock your travel form, while on Shaman a quest to unlock your spirit wolf form. And they were really well designed from a class flavor standpoint, and a lore of the island standpoint. They were a bit on the short end, but they are still tutorial quests after all.

      if raiding is not your thing you should still be able to find a good casual/social guild, theres usually one or 2 big ones on each server. A lot of raiding guilds will take socials/pvpers too. You could also make your own - you'd be surprised at how easily you can find like minded people if you have a good recruitment msg to post.
      Also, you should try raiding - you can easily pug ZG or AQ20 and they are both super fun and reasonably quick raids. I raid on my rogue but have a warrior "non-raiding" alt that i just run dungeons and farm and pvp on, and I have just run a couple of ZGs and AQ20s on it to get stuff like a good 2h. • @stevenglowacki8576
    @stevenglowacki8576 Před 4 lety

    I leveled every Horde class to level 60, and also got all professions to 300 with a specialization where available. That's all I really wanted to do in Classic so I canceled my account shortly after that and am going to the backlog of other games I'm interested that I bought on sale during the last year. I did it all (except the main) solo questing, just to show that it could be done all the way to 60 with every class (so long as you have rested xp all the way), although I did need the Silithus quests that weren't in at launch to finish most of the characters that way (though if I had known I'd needed them, I probably could have done more of the annoying quests I skipped along the way). I did not level a Paladin partly because a lot of the reason I was leveling all the classes was to have a mini-guild of my own characters helping each other out, and the Paladin wouldn't have been getting any help. They also absolutely suck, or at least did in Vanilla, at doing quests solo; the highest I got one back in Vanilla was mid 30s. I'll definitely be leveling a Blood Elf Paladin if we get to TBC on the same server. The only thing I wish I had thought of was to make my enchanter on a different account so that I could enchant my own gear on all my characters, although that obviously would add the RL cost of playing.
    My main did raid MC and a little bit of BWL, but I just didn't like having to do the farming for consumables and I hated the world buff meta. While that will be better in TBC, especially if they start with the consumables overhaul instead of allowing all of them at once like they did to start, I also didn't particularly enjoy raiding anyway. Maybe it's having done some raids in MoP where there were bosses with actual mechanics, maybe it was picking a class that just cast the same spell over and over in raids, maybe it's just that I don't like having to plan time around other people's schedules; whatever it is, it's just not something I really liked doing compared to leveling. I don't even know if I'm going to level all my characters to 70 in TBC, or if I'm even going to play at all, simply because I saw TBC from the start the first time around, while I only saw the latter parts of Vanilla and so missed the chance to level while that was new content. By the end of the initial run of TBC I had most classes to 70, so there's just no compelling reason for me to do it again like there was with Vanilla.

    I love how different my character feels in each spec despite being based around many of the same spells.
    Now I have a really strong gear set for healing on my priest I'm working on my shadow set - it's like having a built in alt. How I play the game changes dramatically, what I can solo, what I do in teams, how I tackle a raid, all different but still my keybinds are 95% the same - the class design in classic (altthough it could do with some re-tuning) is really really fantastic.

    • @KikiTheHobo
      @KikiTheHobo Před 4 lety +1

      I keep seeing the same.. Some say it's not because of boosting, but... it is! When I leveled my 3rd char, I basically struggeld to find any players for group or elite quests. There were lot of players in my level bracket, but lot of them were inside dungeons with 60s and not leveling in Wetlands or Arathi Highlands. It gets better at high levels though, since there is no boosting in dungeons there. If you can manage to get to around level 50, I'd recommend leveling that character. Playing around max level is still a good community experience.

    Weirdly leveling during classic (at the start) was the most fun I had with it, as it was the most varied time to play.
    One day you might be leveling through wetlands in a group of absolute legends at the elite quests in the north, the next you're in RFK with a tank who never played wow prior to the threat changes and, as a resto druid, are calling the shots on how to tank. Level 60 dungeons were fun at the start but since everything (gear, mats, dungeon routes, class specs) have been "optimized", it just feels monotonous now - nothing is a surprise any more. Raids felt the same every week, dungeons were repetitive, and PvP was either Vs premades or rush boss.

    Why classic wow is top:
    1) you can’t make wrong or bad decision. Since there are a lot of information of wow classic, and you know which class is best, which gear is strongest, how to farm gold, how to lvl up, how to kill bosses. Since you know the future, you can make decision which is best acceptable for you. It is like if you go to school again when you are adult. You know how to study and what will be useful in life. And will just enjoy your time with friends =).
    2) classic is easy, it is time-consuming but it is easy for average gamer, since you have a lot of game experience. You will always feel the great, since you are always wining.
    3) it is relaxing. Let’s be honest retail wow is like second job, where you do tasks without joy. Mythic raiding is like sport, you spent a lot of time to prepare yourself and then during raiding time you spent hours to do the same pulls and have negative impact on your health (siting a lot, eye problems and so on). It is not playing for fun, you can not bring your friends and in a good mood kill bosses. You must be focused, stressed, do complex mechanics, you can not let you just play, you need to give all the best in retail. Or LFR is your home. While in classic you can spam one button and feel nice. The game should be about FUN and not about ratings.
    4) developing creative ways to entertain yourself. In retail wow there is dailies, weekly chests, assaults, visions, achievements, brawlers, secrets, non-stop keys. So you enter the game and system suggests you what you can do. You can switch off your brain and just manually do what wow says, and you always will have something to do. While in classic you can come to the end and have nothing to do. Then your mind and creativity comes. You can make speedruns, you can make events, make tournaments, create challenges (like iron man challenge) and so on. As sponge bob said “imagination”. And I think it is a key to play wow classic. And this is great. And that is why games like Minecraft is popular, use your imagination and creativity. Or develop it.
    5) know your history or you are doomed to repeat it. Wow is great game with huge history. So it is great to experience how it started. And it will make you value some retail things, If you play both retail and classic.
    We are growing, the time can not be stopped. So it very pleasant to experience good old days and move on.

    I am of the opinion that the only class leveling should be the gaining of new abilities, and each of those should have its own quest or quest line, and mostly have prerequisites of other abilities. Ditto for Talents. Generally characters should stay numerically within the same range, and only gain numerical advantage through increase of attributes and skills, and the Class Skills (e.g. Fire, Ice and Arcane for Mage) should only increase through use, much like weapons skills. Gear should only provide some basic protective assistance proportional to the scale of character stats, and should not be an endless mill of attribute increases. Enchantments or specifically magical items are fine, so long as those don't contribute to more than perhaps a quarter or a fifth of the total scale, and improvements of one gear set over the last should be incremental. Like this next better set of armor provides you one more point of protection (per gear location). Mobs throughout the world should be similarly scaled, and their numerical power should have more to do with their size, skill, supernatural power than some arbitrary zone or dungeon level.

    The combat feel! It’s the reason I can’t play retail. Perfect example, wind fury and flurry. In classic it feels SO GOOD to crit, get a wind fury proc, and have flurry proc. In retail every ability feels the same; lacks that “gritty” feel. If they changed that I’d probably go back to retail, or at least play it once in awhile.

      Classic combat has real impact in it's big hits, and you feel it with every upgrade you get making a significant increase. It's not unlikely you can sometimes delete a mob or person with a series of lucky crits and it feels so good. Retail is so restricted every fight feels stale and slow and it's just an aoe fest of spamming skills and avoiding aoe blobs.

The worst part came once i hit 60. For all dungeons/ raids players prefer the same 3 classes warrior/mage/priest. If you are one of those yea sure you will have the best experience grinding for your gear but if you play something else you are going to have a real bad time finding groups. I remember searching for groups for hours to do dungeons and that was the moment for me to give up on the game.

    I personally hit 60, cleared MC once for nostalgia, quit during phase two as the community did a total 180 and become one of the most toxic communities I was a part of. The game hasn't changed, its the mentality of modern players affecting how the game is played. I'm happy for the people still playing, but everytime I look in with streamers or youtube or reddit, its just constant drama. Most MMO'S have drama, but for classic, the main component IS drama. Went back to retail/playing other shit. A similar situation happened with OSRS, with the mentality of maximum efficiency- no fun allowed- but its dropped off but some people still clutch to that.
    *EDIT* I have to say, the levelling experience and the community experience prior to phase 2 was one of the most fun I have had with gaming in years.
