I recently cut my nails very short, so I wanted to have a fresh set of builder gel.

Thank you Carole, I needed to see this video and YT knew that.
For anyone doing this if you intend to put gel polish or top coat on please don't remove the sticky layer, its there to help those products have adhesion to the surface of the builder gel.
Thank you for pointing that out! 🥰🥰
I always put peel base on mine so I have to remove that tacky layer.
@sweet potato Unless you need to reshape or fix mistakes I wouldn't since the tacky layer acts as two sided tape to help gel polish stick. If you do remove it to reshape you can always either put the gel polish on after cleaning any dust from filing or use a very thin coat of base(cure as you usually would) and then apply if your worried and finish your manicure as usual. Hope that helps!
Really like these and more natural nails
Brilliant. Thank you for posting your videos. You have helped me., I did mine after watching your video.
I’m soo glad they’ve helped! 💖
Really needed this
Nice! I'm going to teach myself how to do this. You can never get appointments with the good nail techs around here, or they have terrible attitudes! And the shops you can easily get an appointment with destroy your nails. Thank you for sharing!!
We have the same issue here. Good luck!
It's so easy applying builder gel. You hardly touch your nail with the brush. I just float it around my nail and I got the pink and it looks nice. Still learning. But getting there.
I did my nails in pink bluesky builder gell.
Great video! I am new to builder gel and I want to strengthen my own nails.
You didn't apply a top coat. Could I use a regular nail polish top coat over the builder gel? Thanks!
Correct :)
The builder gel when wiped with rubbing alcohol leaves a non-tacky shine, which is perfect and doesn’t need a top coat.
You can absolutely use anything on top after wiping the tacky layer off.
Love the videocassette!
Carole do you have a builder gel in a bottle video on natural nails no forms.
Yes I do. I just uploaded this video yesterday.
czcams.com/video/5-0f1W0cXO0/video.html
Check the description box to where to “skip” forward to in order to see bottle with no forms.
@@CaroleAnnette thank you so much
Hi how can I just purchase the brush & the forms ?
So helpful!! How often do you fill and how often do you remove and redo your builder gel? Thanks!!
Usually every 2 weeks I’ll do a fill.
Removal... not often at all. I did it this time because I was cutting my nails down. So I can go months without removing the builder gel.
@@CaroleAnnette how do you go about doing a removal of the builder gel?
I use an efile or this gel remover: czcams.com/video/2KbBXuI4uM0/video.html
Great video 😊
Thank you ☺️
Hi! Hmmm, so it seems the la addict base, once cured, may protect nail area from some of the potentially harsh builder gel ingredients if there are any. I think I've seen that elsewhere... that a person who was allergic to something in a base was able to switch base but use the same builder gel. I hope that is true for me. I will do one finger at a time probably. I'm a big chicken again. Lol
So I’m new to builder gel. I recently bought a brush on bottle to play around with. I want to use it to strengthen my natural nail and as a base for my nail polish. Do I have to soak it off every time or is there a way to remove the polish without messing up the builder gel layer?
Hi!
Nail Polish can be removed with nail polish remover. As long as it isn’t pure acetone, it shouldn’t remove or affect your builder gel.
Great tutorial! Is this triple D gel soak of or do you need to efile it off? Thanks!
It’s soak off! It may take longer than dip powder to soak though.
@@CaroleAnnette thanks
Hi Chelsea!
Although this looks wonderful, I just can’t spend 3-4 min (or more for a newbie like me to BG!) on each nail!
Does BG come bottles like a polish? If so, are their any brands you can recommend that would work well but not be this time intensive?
Thank you as always for your guidance!
Hi Carol! (We have almost matching names)! 🤩
Yes, Builder Gel is also made and sold in a bottle.
Triple D has a variety of options on their website here: tinyurl.com/3b2crj72
My favorite brand of builder gel is by Kimberz Kreations : tinyurl.com/44ncxjn6
@@CaroleAnnette Hello and thanks for your reply! I will get your recommended brand and pray 🙏🏻 I can do this with my itty bitty starter UV lamp from the Beetles kit I bought! 🤞🏼
@@CaroleAnnette I am SO sorry I wrote Chelsea instead of your name!! I had been searching BH videos and asking several nail queens questions! Please accept my apology!
No worries at all! I think I know who you’re referring too! This community is small and it’s easy to get all the C’s and M’s mixed up!
Do you have to use a gel base coat after applying the builder gel or can you use a dip base if you are planning on dipping your nails?
If you are planning on dipping over the builder gel, wipe off the tacky layer the gel leaves behind (with rubbing alcohol) wait a minute and then go straight to dipping
@@CaroleAnnette thanks
How do you clean your triple d brush when you are done?
I take a paper towel, apply some rubbing alcohol on it, and wipe each side of the brush 1x on the paper towel.
Will the builder gel come off also when I soak off my dip powder? I want to use it, but don't want to have to apply it every time I re do my dip.
Yes it will - but not as quickly as dip powder. It doesn’t dissolve as easily, it gets gooey and has to be scraped off.
Thank you so much!! I watched your video about peel base, so I ordered the Triple D builder gel and the peel base you were using. I love your videos they've helped me so much!! Thanks for getting back to me so fast!!!
Carole, I am finally going to start trying my LA addict base gel after all these months. I have some leftover builder gel by triple d. It's been sitting there for what nine or ten months and I'm wondering if I should use that or toss it. On the outside of the container it shows a 12-month shelf-life. I opened it up and it's sticky around the edges even though I cleaned it off good the last time i used it...and it was upright. Down inside it looks like it's okay. Do you think it's okay to use? I know it's not your place to say yes or no, I just wanted to know what your opinion was. Maybe it's not worth it. Maybe i should just toss it. I always think about the landfill though. 😉
You’ll have to take your gel brush and see if the viscosity is still easy to use.
The residue around the outside it totally normal. Just wipe it down again with rubbing alcohol. And be sure to wipe the cap too. That’s how it gets on the sides, there’s builder gel on the lid.
@@CaroleAnnette ok thanks!
@@CaroleAnnette it's a tiny bit thicker but mine seemed thick the last time i used it. That should be ok i would think. I passed last nights allergy test on one finger with la addict gel base. Now testing with old triple d builder gel. They don't make a sensitive BG right? If i remember right without going back to videos you still use regular triple d builder gel and you are good, Right?
I know they’re testing some formulas, but nothing is out yet for a delicate BG formula yet.
If it’s thick, heating the builder gel up a little will help make it thinner. Using a bowl of warm water, put the closed jar in a zip lock bag, and place it on the warm water for a few minutes. This safely warms up the container and the gel to help it thin out.
@@CaroleAnnette the builder gel turned out to be fine. It's ok a little thicker. It's warmer in my room today and it worked out just fine. I'm using gel and builder gel after waiting so long!!!! So excited! I was afraid I'd need to get rid of my whole dip collection. Thank you for your moral support!! You made my year.
I so need a lamp. (And money lol.) My nails are so thin now that they have splits in them. I need something to protect them. I use cuticle oil on them to try and help them. Thank you so Much 💜
P.S. Do you soak this off in acetone?
It can be soaked off, but I choose to file.
I rarely remove my builder gel as well.
But here’s a video on how to remove it: czcams.com/video/EkH0RsDwfx0/video.html
Do you have any gel products ?
@@CaroleAnnette Yes, I have a few just don't have a lamp.
Do you prefer nail tips or builder gel?
Oh man. It depends on my mood.
I prefer the look of builder gel extensions; but like how fast it is to apply tips.
If you want to keep the builder gel on but change the gel polish color how would you remove the precious color but keep builder g intact?
*precious
*keep builder gel intact
*previous (stupid auto correct lol)
Gently filing off the gel polish 🥰💖
I’m having trouble with thinning nails!! I use dip powder on my natural nails and after this last mani, my one nail is bending from the middle. How can I fix this? Should I start using builder gel moving forward? Help
Hi! How do you remove your dip powder?
@@CaroleAnnette I was using acetone and cuticle oil, then I started using the peelable gel base recently but still the same issue.
Okay, so your removal doesn’t seem to be an issue. Do you rough up your nails when you’re prepping for a new set?
Are they only soft after you take off the dip or do they stay soft? Do they hurt?
So can builder gel be used underneath dip or gel? How long does builder gel last before cracking? 3 weeks or so?
It absolutely can be used under dip and gel. 🥰
If applied properly and not too thin, builder gel can last for months, until grown out or removed.
@@CaroleAnnette after the builder gel cures do you efile lightly before you do base for dip? for just remove tacky and continue with base? TY!
Hi! If the builder gel didn’t come out smooth somehow, I will remove the tacky layer use a hand file and buffing block to smooth it out. Then I’ll dip over it.
@@CaroleAnnette If I am dipping do I still need a Gel Base? is Gel Base required to cure?
If you’re using dip liquids to apply your dip powder, you don’t want to apply gel base right before that. It can ruin the dip liquids.
Gel base does need to cure.
Do you have recommendations for LED nail lights?
Yes, any light by SunUV on Amazon is great!
Thank you!💞
Where did you get the pink finger stand?

Can I paint my nails with regular polish after using a builder gel?
Absolutely. Be sure to wipe off the tacky layer with rubbing alcohol before applying the nail polish.
@@CaroleAnnette thank you! i just bought builder gel in a bottle because i wanted to try to keep my nails from breaking and maybe this will make them strong and protect the length
Will this make nails week underneath as they grow?
Not at all! My nails have never been so strong.
What will make them weak is lifting at the nailbed or improper removal of the product.
@@CaroleAnnette good to know. When it grows out can you just buff the grow out or do you have to take it all off ?
Buff the growth and do a fill :)
😍
Is the protein bond similar to the sparkle and co. Ph prep?
Unfortunately, no.
This protein bond works best with gel and acrylic products. It’s chemical makeup is different than the ph prep
@@CaroleAnnette thanks so much! Didn’t want to buy another product if I already had basically the same thing.
Is there another protein bond you would recommend besides young nails. I live in alaska and they wouldn’t ship that product up here. Thanks!
Yes! profiles backstage sells a great bonder that doesn’t contain HEMA.

Tried the code at Nail Addict to see if it worked but it didn't, either did theirs for 1st time orders...hmmmm
If they’re having a automatic promotion on their website - the ambassador codes won’t work. :/
You’ll have to wait for the promotion to be over to use the 55% discount.
However, I did just test out the code, and it works on my end. (You need a minimum of 2 gels in your cart)
@@CaroleAnnette Yeah I just figured out why...I had the set of 3 which was already 50% off plus just the base that you used in video, and I tried their code (ADDICT50) FOR 1ST time order and it only took off 1/2 of the single base bottle, not the already discounted trio....darn, lol
Damn, they’re smart!!! 😩😩😩
