Question: What if you are positioning to receive an entry pass, defense is just trying to you out from the paint and he's stronger than you?

If defender is pushing you too high, use the swim move to get back towards the center. Then hold off the defender to receive a lob pass.

as a passer, what if the defender is playing off of you and you're trying to make the entry pass? how do you step through if he's not playing close to you?
Good question, a lot of teams do that. The passer has to have the confidence to shoot it in his face.
@@PhoenixSunsNZ Either that, or when the defense is fronting the post, if the post player makes a swim move, I can throw it over the shoulder.
@@Superhero18 yeah possibly. However, if the defender of the passer is sagging off, then that could be an easy double team in the post if the guy catches it. But a definite option, just depends on the players abilities.
If the defender is playing off of you, it's your responsibility to make a play. Shoot the open jump shot. Pass to a player in the middle or to the other side. Or if you still have the dribble option, make a drive inside to get into the paint (where you have the option to keep the dribble, shoot if open, or pass to an open shooter/cutter if the defense collapses).
