sorry, I've been having similar issues with this one, it started misbehaving not long ago (overheating gpu, CPU idling at 60°c, stopping charging while still being plugged in) and would like to ask if anything similar other than the stated happened to you?

@@Villepillle I've managed to lower it by 5°c but even now while browsing the web it goes above 70°c and experienced a bsod yesterday about the gpu which has happened before, i think that I'll open it again tomorrow and reapply the paste in hope that it'll fix itself, also been giving it a thought that i should downvolt it afterwards.

4 years late, but in case someone else needs it: it's thermal paste, which helps transferring heat to the copper plate on top of it, which is then cooled by the fan.
Thermal paste usually dries up after a few years and loses some efficiency. It's good practice to change it every once in a while.

old thermal paste should be cleaned in 100%, before putting a new one

Hi, Thank you for the video. That thermal paste link is no longer valid. Could you recommend an alternative product? Also, Are there screw heads involved other than Phillip's or straight slotted? I already have a set of those types of precision screw drivers.

oh, actually most important to clean dust from the radiator, as it was shown in the video, all dust in the fan accumulates there and blocking air flow

No screw (cheap build) so I had to break the plastic weld. The fan wings and around that area were quite dirty.
