- I promised more sophisticated techniques, once the channel reaches 1000 Subs. Now here we are and I'm happy to deliver 5 more driving tips for DiRT Rally 2.0. These will teach you, how to make good driving into good quick driving. I'll cover the often heard slang like 'Scandinavian Flick', 'Clutch Kicking' and more.

Good video, allthough one rally legend once stated that if you are 100% control over your car, you're driving too slow ;p
Crazy to think like this when driving a car at 100 mph on a gravel road hahaha, rally drivers are such unhuman drivers
@@jfskater99 welcome to finland 😅 normal driving to work when late

Honestly mate it's really hard to hear you talking over the co-driver.
Have to agree. Some really good tips here, but (and I'm not sure if you've changed it in any newer vids) having the background volume down would definitely help! Thanks for the video :)

Fantastic vid. I played DR1 quite a bit, but have recently got my first wheel (G29) and absolutely loving DR2 with it. It’s a phenomenal experience. Thanks for the great, clear tips. Practise, practise, practise!
Now get a vr headset and play dr2 vr, it's honestly a really fun experience for me personally.

Just want to give you a shout-out and say THANK YOU for posting this! I've finally sat down to attempt to build some proficiency with Dirt Rally 2.0 this month, and was railing over the complete lack of online resources surrounding the game, with most guides amounting to "PRESS (A) TO START!". Much appreciated, sir!
Second that! Great tips. Much appreciated!
Ok just the clarify, in Sweden for example we have a mandatory driving course on slippery roads. It's basically a course in how to recover a car, in order to recover a car you must loose controll of the car and that's why we teach people the scandi flick. We're not scandi flickin our way into parking spots :D
Glad I found this channel, very underrated. Theres not many videos discussing about advanced techniques and set up tips in great detail.
„The less grip a surface offers, the more useful a sideways braking becomes.“
Thats the sentence I was searching in order to explain why most of the rally drivers use some awd-drift-technic to get fast around the corner^^
Your videos have been super helpful. I noticed you mostly drive AWDs in your videos though. Maybe you could do a video that goes over the different techniques needed for different drivetrains. I like driving some of the older FWDs in DR2, but most of the learning videos focus on AWD and RWD.
This channel is what i was searching for .
Your remarks about focusing on consistency first is really important. However, I feel that even beginners benefit from knowing about advanced techniques so they can start to apply them when comfortable. Additionally, I think corner linking is something every player regardless of skill should think about! Beginners won’t be able to spot and take the best line, but to have awareness of how corners work together is important for beginners to not slide off the track and hit cliffs!
That all being said, I’m coming up on 100 hours in dirt 2 so I really appreciate the articulate advice. Excited to practice, cheers!
Lool "yo whadupp my glip glops"
Awesome video!
Corner linking is pretty crucial.. if you screw up on the first corner, you're gonna have a bad time on the 2nd corner
Weight transfer matters in this game.
Einfach genial , danke das du den scandinavian flick und heel toe erklärt hast und mit guten beispielen zum anschauen hinterlegt hast ! Danke Vielmals!
Great tips.
I play with a gamepad (Dual Shock 4) and have Clutch bound to L1, and Handbrake bound to Right Stick > Right. This allows me to do the necessary mix of handbrake, throttle, brake, and clutch while still steering, allowing clutch kicks at the end of hairpins and similar situations. Also, having the analog input of the analog stick for the handbrake is seriously game changing! When you just use a button, it's 100% handbrake every time you press it, which can kill a lot of speed or send you into too strong a slide. Being able to tap it for 20% power, juuuust enough to get the back end sliding without killing too much speed or losing control, is tremendous!
This is what I am planning with a 3 pedal setup hahaha I am comfortable with a sequential passive clutch so the clutch pedal would be my feathered handbreak while still have access with an instant 100% just in case I need it the most.
Bro massive respect ..even me il try your setup lolll
Which transmission do you use? Because the clutch ones only allow h pattern so I cant use the clutch.
@@averagebrownguy4193 Manual Sequential. You don't need to clutch for every shift, but you can press the clutch button to use the clutch at any time, even when the driver isn't shifting. Sometimes you're better off doing a "clutch kick" instead of downshifting, which is just pressing in the clutch while hitting the throttle for a moment to get the revs high, giving you better acceleration.
You can also use it in RWD cars, or AWD cars with the torque balance mostly to the rear, to get the revs really high to cause the rear tires to spin and lose traction. You can do this after you've started your turn-in to swing the back end of the car around a turn rather than using the handbrake.
@@vahnn0 oh ok. Yh u have to use the clutch override button as well. Thanks for replying
Tbh I have learned more from you than any other CZcamsr, great explanation. You should just keep your game volume a little lower, it’s hard to hear what you’re saying without headphones, but other than that great video.
The peugeot is what i'm trying to master. Clutch kicking helps soo much. good video man!
Thank you for such a detailed lesson!
No joke your first tip is the #1 thing Im struggling the most with atm. My worse enemy is a hairpin after a long straight. I always decelerate late, or now sometimes way too early.
Sensationally explained, thank you!!
Excellent, very informative thank you :)
Hi! I think you do a great job with these tutorials. Your use of language is really intuitive to me. Nice :-)
Edit: OK, finished the whole video now. Great selection of content for your selected audience. Also, you give excellent context for everything you do. I immideatly became a fan!
Just out of interest: may I ask what you do for a living?
Cheers!
Great video! 👍
Left foot braking is perfect when combined with swinging the into a jump,I like to do that in Finland with the Lancia,I sing it sideways entering really fast, but as I give throttle counter steering I left foot pump the brakes and I manage not to lose RPM,and exit with zero turbo lag and not going sideways
Great video! Many thanks from a new subscriber
Good video man 💪
Thanks for the videos.
I agree with that whole don't use the handbrake thought. I find it super useful if maybe your mind blanks for a second as a last resort to lose speed into a super fast corner to get it to come around and lose speed quickly but a good left foot brake flick works better and smoother 9/10 times
Valuable information. Thanks
Thx for this amazing Tutorial!! Abo ist raus.
It would really interest me what you think about my drivingstyle 😅
Nice vid bro:)
Just bought this game. Can’t wait to play it! Thanks for these tips. Will look into it. 👍🏻🙂
What i will say is kind of obvious but listening CAREFULLY the co driver is essencial, now, with that what i do (because he is giving info, normally, two turns ahead) is two repeat in my head what he said. this for me became quite useful, specially coming out of a very hard turn or set of turns. Almost everytime i would relax for a fraction of a second and loose concentration..
This says that am still an amateur eheh but maybe it can help some of you out there
Thanks mate 🙏🏻

Bit off-topic, but would like you to play the WRC8 and compare it to DR2.0. Also Great and imformative video, keep up the work!
Thank you. And no, since it is epic games exclusive. Also the stages on videos still look quite low polygon-count with many sharp edges like in WRC7. From what I see, I have no doubt it is the best WRC game yet. But I also have no doubt DR2 is still better in terms of gravel physics and fidelity.
>before you begin, you should be able to keep the car on the road (*flashback to flying off the track*) and you should be able to complete stages with minor damage (*completes course with.... A car? I think?)
Yeah I gotta go back
The narrator reminds me of "Cooking With Arpakasso" maybe it's the host... Señor Arpakasso!
Honestly, you should upload an updated version of this video with subtitles because its really hard to hear you.
I think the hardest thing to learn is to drive slow first and get faster, rather than drive as fast as possible and slow down like you can with games that have a rewind feature.
God, I'd like a rewind feature
Fast one!
Great video. Although you should either increase your microphone volume or lower the volume of the game, I could hardly hear you over the game. Unless it’s just me. 👍🏻👍🏻.
Please can you assist with your T300RS wheel settings and in game settings? Love the videos mate

After adjusting my controller settings in advanced settings, should I leave the ‘Assists’ settings as is with traction stability launch control Off & time control braking on 5 which is default settings. Or should I tweak any of them?
Audio is not so great but nice driving and tips thx
I have a question.
It is mentioned in the video that left foot braking helps with mid corner corrections, but what about throttle modulation? Does that not do the same thing? I.e. lift off oversteer.
Correct. I'm a fairly casual player but constantly use lifting off the throttle to get the car to grip and turn. Only a little bit at a time but it does the job and keeps you in your flow. A dab of the brakes helps a bit more, another dab if you're a little fast. You want to maintain momentum as much as possible.
Didn’t even watch video, click on it because of the preview was upside down.. that’s how you get people interest
This game is serious business.
Nice job, but what about collecting these kind of videos in categorized playlists within your page?
Good idea. I already have a playlist for the Country Guides, but now I also collected all "general driving" videos into one as well: czcams.com/play/PLcbXT3zPpPUgQcs_18XgW79b4paCBMQnv.html
My opinion about co driver is that not all of us understand english perfectly,if i would want to drive in real life i would pick up english person so he could tell me the road. That means it's a big minuss from codmasters that there is not a lot of oportunity in rally co driver language...
Thanks for another great video. Just curious about something. I don't have a h-pattern shifter so I only use the paddles. Do the same heel-toe principles apply? In game I use manual sequential gearing
I think the game kicks the clutch for you as with most sequential gearboxes. You can map the clutch and enable clutch override in the assists and still make use of clutch kicking though heel toe shifting isnt required.
What LastWaltz123 said. Real sequential shifters also don't require clutch kicking as the cars electronics handle the perfect rev-matching for you.
Hi, how can I play double at PS4, one with the steering wheel and the other the joystick at the same stage with different cars? Is there a way to unlock all cars and tracks?
I have one question when going around a corner should I keep a constant low throttle till the apex or just release the throttle because ether way I still just keep sliding off the track as if I never turnt
@KoleMotosport thanks man
No expert but it helped me in general when I though of gas and break as more so a means of adding and removing grip from wheels. Gas and brake shift the cars weight one way or the other and if you ask yourself where the grip needs to be you can start implementing the required inputs to get maximum grip where its needed.
I only finish #12 or higher, have no idea how to beat it on Very Easy. I drive normally no crashes.
How you appeared on my feed I don't know..........My god am I glad though.......my Dirt game is going to be a whole new level......now to find a wheel....."You might only lose 200 milla-secs" ......Sure...... because that is what I always lose by......

What's the difference between clutch-kicking and slipping the clutch?
I got here from the bigger balls ad. Hi
Very, very good video, but it’s extremely hard to hear what you are saying. With all the other noices, and the codrivers voice, you are talking way to low. But altogether, thank you for an excellent video! 😊
whats your wheel settings and force vibration and . stuff ?
Its listed in the Community section of the channel page (Formerly named discussions)
It hurts me inside that I know most of these things, and yet I end upside down, split into two by a log because I was in doubt, rendering all those advanced techniques utterly useless.
Thats what practice is for, just dont be hard on ur self

You can do it with semi auto.

Good video but I was struggling to hear what you were saying, your game is loud and you seem to be falling asleep while talking. I replayed many of your tips but still couldn't hear what you're saying, your game is louder :(
2:05 See when I try doing this, I would end up driving straight off the cliff.
Bro when u approach the hairpin u have to brake. And downshift.. (heel toe if u r using a wheel)
U need good speed approaching the corner and one u start turning use your handbrake to push the end of the car out..
Downshift to gear 1 or 2 depending on car..
This is how I turn in hairpins..
I use a gamepad tho so .. idk bout wheels

All things good, but dislike for audio. Clean sounds of the game (co-pilot and engine) they are useless. Bump up you voice. It is impossible to hear anything. At all ask somebody else to read the text for you, or use robot. Sorry, but your voice is awful.
Turn your volume up. I'm a southern American we have very strong accents vastly different from his and I can understand him fine on terrible little cell phone speakers.
Also you are extremely self centered I'm assuming you are a single child who was quite spoiled given someone went through the effort to make something to help us for free and you figured it was a solid idea to tell him that his voice sounds awful.
