Wow.. I was thinking "what am I doing here?" and went down to the comments only to see everyone feeling the same way...
So this is what it feels like being part of something? Feels nice to share the same thoughts with others people for a change.
This is CZcams rolling out its new recommendations algorithm.

Hey just a word of friendly advice from someone with experience in the subject, E-6000 is really toxic and the micro particles you take in through breathing the fumes and absorption through skin don't break down well in your body, they just continuously build up in your lipid cells, meaning if you get really sick or get in an accident and then end up losing weight, the E-6000 stored in those cells are re-absorbed into the body and can end up causing severe E-6000 toxicity, this can cause liver and kidney failure. I highly advise using gloves, a respirator and being in a very well ventilated room/outside whenever using E-6000. I took the warning labels as lightly as you seem to be and I am now months and months into dealing with the repercussions and it doesn't look as though I'm close to being 100% again.
Hi there. As the other comment said ' Thank you ' I was not as aware as you said and now I will take heed and watch what I am doing. I have just started doing work requiring this glue and I am very grateful for the heads up. Again Thank you and God bless.
O fuk we need to tell Amber Scholl about this! Thank u💗💗
I will wear a mask during that part.
What would you suggest using?

I've always admired that level of precision and patience...
That's cool! Many years ago my dad was a boy scout leader n we did flat breads similar. Those were the days!
As you were describing how to move the cords, I started laughing, and here's why: your sequence is easier to remember than others I was taught.
Translating yours, I get Left Up, Right Down, Turn or *"LURD,Turn"* - it's silly but easy.
I was taught to go Top Down, Bottom Up, Turn (TDBU,Turn) by one person and BUTD, Turn (BUTD,Turn) by another. Neither of these is as easy to remember as yours.
Thank you!
Step by step instructions were brilliant. Thanks much 🙏
Why am I even here? I don’t have a kumi whatever disk and the closest thing to that cord I have is embroidery thread
Lol...same
We appreciate you commenting and watching anyway! If you ever feel inspired to start Kumihimo we invite you to come over to our website. Here is a link to our Kumihimo beginner guide: www.beadaholique.com/beading-resources/techniques-guides/jewelry-making-techniques/kumihimo-101-how-to-kumihimo
Lol same
Graces DogsAreBarkin Listen, it’s 1 in the morning here and I have nothing better to do. This is what CZcams sends me onto when I do nothing.
I made my own disk with cereal box cardboard and embroidery thread for the bracelet.
Oh my goodness do I love color! This bracelet is me all the way... I saved this video so I know where to place my cord colors. Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
so happy to see what i can do with all the cord i have... thanks a lot..
That was something really special! I have never seen this before but I know that in the near future I would love to have a go at it. Many thanks for this tutorial.
This disc makes it simple to make this beautiful braided bracelet. Love it! You can curl your hair with the bobbins, by the way.
Thanks for the hair tip!
love it, i'm just starting with Kumihimo and looking for thicker cords, will now be buying some s-lon cord and give it a go.
Love your channel! Thank you for this tutorial!
Wow, i have never ever seen those disks before...thanks!
Just a tip glue before cutting and use wire cutters to cut then it has no chance of coming undone and its easy to put the hardened end in the caps
I really enjoy kumihimo until the dreaded "adding of the clasp"-this always gives me the heebeejeebees-it's usually then when a huge goof happens-like the end of the braid won't fit into the end of the clasp connector, that's my signal to put it down and try it again later. Thanks for sharing this 24 warp pattern with us.
Very nice instructions, easy to follow. I’m glad that you can sell me the KUMI discs and any supplies I may want.
Like many others I don't know how I got here but it's fascinating!!!
Excellent video! I just needed a refresher video and this was perfect! Great job!
Much respect for whoever does that! It's very pretty tho!
You are an outstanding teacher.....I want to try everything you demonstrate. As a former art teacher, I share your interest in color and intricacy..
That was very interesting, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this tutorial.
Very helpful, thank you
Wow that's so easy to make
Awesome stuff!
Years I did this with a smaller size. And used embroidery floss. Worked ok. So you can do it. Length was my issue what to cut things.. thanks for sharing
The CZcams recommendations god has chosen you this week, Beadaholique
This was in my recommendations and I’m so impressed with this. I don’t think I could do it though
I don't know how I stumbled into this hole, but I love it
Wow!! 💜 it.
I used to make these using a cardboard disk and embroidery thread...

Works just as well honestly this shit is a waste of money to buy when you can do just that

Nicole Jaycox I will for sure. I've done 8-warp but this provides so much more detail!
I want to make matching necklace and bracelet sets ~ but with beads!
Oh my gosh I will never be able to learn this!. Lol this looks so hard
thanks for posting this clip..a couple of years ago I'd bought a friendship bracelet making kit for my granddaughter, but for the life of me l COULD NOT work out how to use it..the instructions did not make any sense and so it got put to the back burner..NOW l understand how to use it..thanks..
That would drive me nuts!
And for me that is a very short drive..ha !!!

These videos are very relaxing
I think this is great. I have a round and a square pad. My question is about the color work pattern. In the beginning you use blue, purple; red,purple- but for the rest of the two color combo groups you alternate the position of the first color in the lead group to the second color in the next group? I’m writing this before watching the whole video so you may explain it- but I wanted to ask before I forget. Thanks for sharing and happy crafting.
Are you sure the blue and purple are in correct order - they seem to be in incorrect compared to rest of pattern.
Agreed. It seems off
Agreed, it was kinda annoying
Came here to say this! It’s really annoying!
... it’s a fucking rainbow, dudes. There’s really no way for a rainbow to be off in a pattern.
Love it it reminds me of an anime called (your name) in the anime they use similar same technique of braiding the cords
I think a lot of people found there way here because of Kimi no na wa :D
That's because this technique developed in Japan.
OOoo?! OOoo?!
Double Matthew Walker Knot
just wish that there was an ornamental and large knot to crown all of that hard work
I'd love to see kits for the round braids bigger than 8, or more flat. Kumi is my favorite. I like the convenience of the kits because I don't have to think about putting materials together, and the accompanying video tutorials are so helpful. Will that ever be possible?
You may see some in the future! This disc definitely opens up the possibilities!
Awesome and then add 11° beads ♥️
I don't know why I was recommended this? But it's entertaining
It s very difficalt thank s
Ok, thats really pretty but I was caught fighting to stay awake and not poke my eyes out ! Not because of your video but the magnitude of it all. I make and work with tiny components on jewelry and never understood when my friends say " OMG, How do you do that ? " That would drive me crazy " Now I understand their concept. Thanks for sharing though.
Exactly! She didn't explain how or why on anything!
can someone who has experience with kumihimo tell me whether it matters if you turn the disk counter clockwise of clockwise. I'm left handed and turn the disk clockwise. It doesn't seem to matter with 8 cord braid but might with more complex braids.
Lol I do this, but I dont use a disc. I just do it by hand. I'd suggest reversing it every so often so it zig zags up.
Love this! I want to make a necklace. Any thoughts on how to reverse the pattern half way so it looks better? Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching! With the Kumihimo technique, unfortunately, you cannot tie on more thread as you go. This would mean each warp can only be made up of one thread in one color. One option could be to make separate braids and join them together using cord end caps and other findings.
?Questions?
Is there any chance you would make a video (or some videos) on developing patterns, and is there a formula or logic for patterning?
It's been a while since I've worked Kumihimo but my least favorite part is the set up so I always tried to make it as simple as possible not sure I'd want to work with a 24 warp
Curious if the squares will be done in double density as well?
Please can you show this same one ~ but with beads on each strand of thread ~ Thank You 🙏🏿
Isnt this similar to the way the used to make lace dollies way way way back. They had threaded bobbins all over and they crossed these back and forth. Love you're very informative video. Gonna try this after I get done with some of my other projects!! Do you do any with beads embedded on the S-Lon Cord

Man, this Lady just made my head spin! 🙄🙄🙄
This is so kool!!! just wondering if you have a link for a kit?
We don't have a packaged kit for this one but we do have a project page for the bracelet with links to all the tools and supplies you'll need: beadaholique.com/products/rainbow-24-warp-kumihimo-bracelet
Today on why is this in my recommended? Still cool will look in to it.
We're not sure how CZcams's algorithms work, but thanks for stopping by and commenting!
What size end cap and/or magnetic clasp is needed for this?
Life is too short!
日本の組紐(着物に使う帯締め)とはまた違った物なんだね♬
How do you determine what color goes where??
MUST BE A STRICKLIESEL THE JAPANESE WAY....I LOVE IT....:)
Whats a strickliesel??
how long it take you to do all that braiding
Its 3am i dont even know how i got here but im halfway watching video
Lux
The purple and blue cords don't match the rest in the beginning
I was thinking the same 😉
The initial set up for them was reversed purple should have been where the blue was to keep the pattern going. Or she should have put blue next to red. But that wouldnt be a rainbow-esque pattern
yes.. around the 32.. i was wondering i f she would notice when going through it again, but she didnt.. :-) thats something for the slightly annoying reddit LOL
I was hoping she would catch it on the recheck. luckily it doesnt effect the patterb too much, as it just makes them like the last set instead of the first

Help! I can't seem to find the 64 count double density disk on the beadaholique website. All of the links listed go to 32 count disks.
Here is a direct link to the double density disc: www.beadaholique.com/beadsmith-double-density-64-slot-kumihimo-disk-for-japanese-braiding-6-white.html
Thank you!
I bought a couple of discs and a whole bunch of cording and I have no idea how to do this. I've tried to find CZcams videos but they are hard to find. I guess I need to buy a book? Thank you for the info.
On Pinterest look for kumihimo patterns, I have the regular 32 slots kumihimo discs but I notice there are no tutorials for a 24 strands or other different count of strands, so I came up with an idea on making my own kumihimo discs base on the count of strands that the pattern is calling for example if the pattern calls for 24 strands, my kumihimo disc would have 48 slots if another pattern calls for 30 strands my kumihimo would have 60 slots, depending on the number of strands double up the slots on your kumihimo disc, there’s lots of patterns on Pinterest that would show you the position of the strands.
❤
What is the maximum number of cords I can have on my 64 slot disk!?
Can you show more videos on the 64 slot disk please?
I think it’s 40

Every time I hear the number 64 I think of the max stack of items in Minecraft
You know you can solve the "not being able to use big beads" problem by making the hole bigger? why even have it smaller? would the structure fall apart?
Your links for the nylon thread are broken. I can still find them on your site, but I thought you might want to update the description.
Thanks for letting us know!
Taking my Kumi one step further, can one add seed beads?
Oh, oh you absolutely can. In fact it's one of our favorite things to do. Take a look at our kumihimo playlist, we have a lot of tutorials on beaded kumi: czcams.com/play/PLdGWVJ-tb1bHGMZuegvUqiksO7yV7p86O.html
I found this easy to follow ~ but I struggle to do any of this work using beads 😢
Nice work! what type of yarn did you use?
We use S-Lon Nylon cord in size 18 (0.5mm). Thank you!
......wait..... does it have to be cord.... or can I use string
How much am I looking at if I wanted to start learning how to make bracelets and necklaces using that technique?
You can view pricing for the items used in this project in the following link: www.beadaholique.com/rainbow-24-warp-kumihimo-bracelet.html
Thank you.
curse you, my youtube recommended page.. why did you suggest this and why was i sooo into it that watched it from start to finish?
Hello I'm interested, any tips where can I have these supply set?
Hi Hannah, you can buy all the materials in the video directly from us, including the disc and bobbins you need to design your own bracelet. Take a look our project page for the bracelet, it lists every tool you'll need beadaholique.com/products/rainbow-24-warp-kumihimo-bracelet
if i want to do different colors i am not sure how to distribute them...is there a rule to this ? how do i know how it will look in the end?
If you want to try different patterns I recommend doing a sample swatch. It's what we do here to see what the result will be. We are working on putting out more free patterns to help guide you.
Why is this in my recommendations l'dont know what's going on but i love it and i want it

Muchas gracias!
Tbh i thought you were gonna 1000 degree hot knife it to bind the ends together.
how long does this usually take ?
It can take about an hour or two depending on how fast you are trying to go. The first time I did it, it took me about three hours because I wanted to get the braid down, but after that I could speed it up. It gets very zen-like.
Would burning the ends work as well as the glue to keep the ends from fraying?
You can burn the ends of S-Lon, but you will still need glue to attach your clasp so the method in the video simply skips a step.
It depends on what you're using. Some melt others burn...you can do a test on each material. You can use hemp, slow, emb floss, yarns, and a ton more
Please tell me where to get the bead smith disks!!!!!
Here is a direct link to the discs on our site: www.beadaholique.com/beadsmith-double-density-64-slot-kumihimo-disk-for-japanese-braiding-6-white.html
Thanks for watching!
Did I miss her explanation on why the colors are placed that way or....?
How do you plan where to place the cords?
This is one of those design processes that really rewards trial and error, that's how we learned to do it. Start by choosing a color pallet, cut a foot or so of each color you want to include, and then weave a few one inch test swatches to see how different cord placements effect the braid.
Do you sell the finished products?
Hi ! No we don't , all the supplies are sold separately. Thanks for watching!
Can this be done with the 32 slot disc too?
I would not do this with a 32 slot disc, there is not enough room for the warps to travel, and can end up being confusing.
Добрый вечер солнышко .😘👏👍
Where can I buy the 64 kumihimo disk?
We sell them in our online store here: beadaholique.com/products/beadsmith-double-density-64-slot-kumihimo-disk-for-japanese-braiding-6-white
Was the extra thread 2 make a 2nd bracelet?
Yes, you have 77 yards which is 231 feet of cord per spool so plenty to make a several bracelets.
