Just a beautiful animal! At 70 years of age I never had a great deer hunt like this. Like to know if hunts can be scheduled on this same Wyoming piece of paradise? This old Vietnam vet would love to book one. Don't know if I could make it up the tree however as I was a bit disabled in Vietnam. God is good. Thanks for the super exciting hunt!
Yes you can. 7J outfitters out of Sundance can make it happen. If you would rather rifle hunt you deal with less tree stands and more shooting houses

Please correct me if I'm wrong but this deer had to be somewhat tamed or something... he says, "here he comes" with the deer in bow range... how did the deer not hear that and spook, all of that commotion, movement, talking etc... maybe it was the wind blowing that silenced them? Idk but I've had deer spook from less noise/movement. Either way, nice kill but I'm kinda confused how that deer didn't hear yall.

Before one of my crazy relatives sold the mineral rights to our grandparents farm in Arkansas, and the gas company's came in and built roads and set up gas wells, that buck was pretty typical in our area. I dont think in all the years I hunted up there from boyhood to adulthood I never killed anything smaller than an 8 point with several 10 pts in the mix. Heard tell of a ghost deer in the 70s that was at least a 13 point seen by all ages of people and not just hunters. ✌

Brian Young of course. Since I was a kid, growing up in the hills of Appalachia Ohio. To me, “hunting” should be defined like this. The tracking and finding of, closing the distance with and stalking too, and harvesting a animal after a clear ethical shot.
And yes, I’ve killed all my deer that way. Scout their trails/beds/feed area/patterns. Then slip in early morning, and look to locate, stalk and then shoot. To me going to a ranch or place where you pay to be put in a tree stand with deer brought in or raised and fed/fenced in. Not hunting in my book. Congrats you made a good 15yrd shot and killed a once in a lifetime (under real circumstances) buck.
The guys I grew up hunting with would hunt on foot all day. One of them old men got their photo on the cover of outdoor magazine in the 70s for hunter of the year if memory serves. I guess I’m just old school, where the word hunt meant something more then paying to sit in a tree stand.

Hate to say it but this ain't hunting, this is sitting and hiding WAITING for a kill to happen. A real hunter locates, stalks, tracks and kills its prey. Martin is cool though no disrespect just my 2 cents
