I have traveled to many countries and one problem or sickness among some Muslims fathers and families is racism and bigotry. We prefer not to acknowledge or admitted openly. Because this sickness has no place in Islam. But it has found a welcoming place within the hearts of many. Many Muslim father are racist. Some sale their daughters and they are forced to marry people they don’t want to marry. A good Muslim brother who follows the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who is able to provide and take care of a sister is rejected because of his race or the country he comes from. Many Imam’s refuses to talk about this evil. This is one of many reasons why women are not able to get married, some have reached the age were their chance of marriage is muted. Because of tradition men don’t want to marry older women. This is not the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ((PBUH). But they all claim to be following him.
This is what i thought about when i read the title of the video. Racism is the biggest issue regarding marriage. Its really a sickness. I wonder what they are going to say to Allah when they will be asked about the reason why they refused to marry their children.
Even if she is, her dad asks for a high mahr, high wages, and a big wedding even if the daughter does not. I know of parents who rejected practicing brothers who came for their daughter but accepted people who were not as practicing and their daughter ended up unhappy and divorced with a child.
So how does a revert handle the marriage preference pushed on them from non Muslim parents who won’t accept another Muslim partner for their child? Do I still not to listen to them cause they are non Muslim ?Should we not listen nor obey our non Muslim parents ? Asking from a perspective of a revert dealing with non Muslim parents who are ignorant to Islam and still hold onto to their whims and culture outlook on what’s acceptable.
Asalamulaikum, going through something similar myself. I say just remember that as Muslims marriage is half our deen. I only listen to my parents if what they ask is in accordance with islam. If they are trying to stop you from following your religion then how can you listen to them?
Non muslim parents have no say in the marriage of their muslim daughter. You most likely should get someone like an imam to be your wali when brothers ask for marriage.
If they come up with reasonable concerns as to why you shouldnt marry a brother listen to them But if they are being complete unreasonable, and are being harsh; when the brother can clearly provide for you and has good Deen, then make sure you ponder over that proposal and make serious du'a and that will save you so much pain and trouble. Try getting an imam or a pious older brother to help you out with being your Wali. I am a revert myself , and wallahi you have no protector in seeking marriage except Allah , some guys like to take advantage of revert sisters when it comes to marriage as they think they are dumb and helpless. Make du'a to Allah , rely on him, obey your parents where it is reasonable
What about the orphan that do not have anything to offer in return of a marriage, should them go and knock to the sin door and end up to adultery and inpure bed..?
Blueend End I agree that she should generally only accept a man who can maintain her(And there’s a reverse for this of what men “accept”). But one should forget about the materialistic world as it is a distraction from what’s important & a waste of money.
@R Coffee a dog that's to be left out of the house haha and idk it felt like an insult because there are so many people in the world and if we are all reasonable we will find in each other partners
SubhanAllah! جزاك الله خير يا مفتي 🍵 It's 2023. I think It has gotten harder for women, especially older women to get married these days (they have needs to be fulfilled too, regardless of their age) some muslim men have neglected their responsibilities as men. They don't wanna get married. They make up all kinds of excuses. P*rn on the net has taken over their lives and they prefer watching that instead. As for these young folks, they rather have a girlfriend with no responsibilities. Noone is following the Quran/Sunnah these days. Everyone is doing what they wanna do. May الله help us all to do the right thing moving forward! 🤲 اللهم امين
Marriage helps to guard one's chastity. That's why it's better to marry. Our Prophet (SAW) advised us youngsters to get married as soon as possible, if he can't do that he should fast as fasting acts as a shield.
😂 Watching this in 2022,, and it has gone worse
Allahs aid is sought

Is it okay to spend the whole of your life without getting married?
