Florida is setting up their next generation to fall far behind the general knowledge of students from other states. How? Well, if you have no point of view of these classic books, that are almost ALL banned, you will sit through college classes with zero prior knowledge . Florida is robbing this from students who will feel foolish and ill prepared for college dialogue, research, and perspective. It is a huge deal, it cannot be downplayed. Why are these books classics? Because they teach immeasurable concepts, situations, outcomes. They ask a student to be free thinkers, to interpret these books for themselves. R.I.P. college bound sunshine state kids.

These laws are generally universally enacted to protect children from pornographic or sexually explicit materials. These youngsters will have plenty of time to be exposed to this type of sexually explicit material as they get older, however, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, as well as parents want this type of material restricted from children.

How will children receive a valid education without learning ftom many viewpoints ? I cannot image giving a good defense as an attorney or trying to treat as a doctor or without understanding many lives. Even to pack and stock groceries you need to know the world.
An attorney has a base system that is grounded not a ton of different concepts. That’s how a good attorney wins, by knowing what is actually base and what isn’t.
That's not a concern GOP has

Hey CZcams! Are you going to delete this comment as well?
What a fabulous lady. Banning books is shocking, I don’t understand their mentality. I have been an ardent book reader all my life. I have read any book I ever wanted to read. I am horrified that some people feel they have the power to ban books. Take the power back in your own hands and read what you want.
I never understood the whole argument of over this book banning. I am a school teacher by trade and ran into another individual that built homes for a living and was obviously very more wealthy than me. But we did share of common trust with both of us being parents and we couldn't understand why anybody would support pyrography as good reading for out children. I get it I'm older but I feel like the people supporting this just have an infatuation that most people cannot understand.
VElshi, I love your show and thank you for your precious work. We need it desperatly!
BUT: This time you were too fast. The old Lady had to say much more and you went on with YOUR speed and cut her off. A petty, as she really knew what she was talking about. Don't forget: Old people are slow but not stupid or not awake. But with all their experiences they could give us such an immense lot of precious knowledge, we only must go down with our speed and LISTEN to them and benefit. Sorry to say this, but the idiotic discussion about the age of Biden make people oversee the treasure that goes lost. Must human race for some more 5'000 years repeat the same faults again and again and again?! NO!! Listen to the old people!!
