Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Packing is not easy!! We had so much fun making this video with you. Here's to hoping we help all those aspiring travelers out there!! -Ash
For real! Loved this day and escaping with you!!!
In Part 3 😆
loved it!! awesome tips!
Watched your video long time ago, do you ever wish your Aeronaut was bigger?
+Bo Stark absolutely not! We have the 45 L (instead of the 35 L) and when it's packed it is VERY heavy. Any bigger and it would be a military rucksack.
In case you've never heard. Taking pictures of all of your CC's and ID's, front and back. Keep the photos in a protected file on your puter or store on a cloud (or both) in case anything is ever lost or stolen. You will have the information you need in order to cancel anything and be able to report to the authorities if stolen. Safe travels to you all!! :)
Women : Blonde, Brunette, Redhead
Men : Long hair, short hair, medium hair.
Debarka Mukhopadhyay ahaha I watch two of these couples and was like ah this is funny -
😂😂😂😂
Yeah this is a weird observation.
Red head? “YOU MUST BE A WEASLEY” 😂😂😂 Harry Potter fan here!
Shower cap shoe covers! This may be the best tip ever. We travel a lot and never thought of it even once. Thanks! - Trevor
Ultimate space saver? Put those fountain pens IN the humidor!
Nikki Liz Ha, reading this after i commented the same, but really it's a perfect fit!
HA HA!
Yay, we had so much fun with this one! And honestly we learned a lot 😊 Miss you guys!
The Endless Adventure well organized strategy: do one video in three parts, between three CZcamsrs. I like this, and it introduces me to other travelers like yourselves.
Same!!! Watching your Part 1 made me really hungry again!
Awesome to see you guys all hanging out together! Some great tips in here - good idea with the 3 parts guys 🙌🏼
😮
"What you Don't Use" was perfect. I've never seen a travel segment like that! Thanks. And love Rick Steves !!!
+Kara and Nate I've discovered vacuum bags for packing and my reasons are this:
a). When you roll your clothes, put them in the bag and push the air out, you save a ton of space, your cloths don't wrinkle.
b). I put a piece of fabric softener in there, the cloths smell good and I have a division from my shoes/dirty laundry.
c). Luggage takes on water, clothes stay dry.
I carry a flat packing laundry bag that I designed back in 2003. It has two wire frames and fits perfectly flat inside the front inside panel of my carry on. With just one piece of clothing in it, it will stand up on it's own, it packs/expands to the amount of clothes in it so you can pack it, keep your clean clothes in the vacuum bag and dirty in the laundry basket. When full, it has handles so it can be used as a laundry basket. I never travel without it and it's ALWAYS useful.
Evan J do you have a link for the laundry bag
@@mistythecat3050 Unfortunately that item discontinued long ago but I am considering re-launching it. Thank you for reminding me.
@@wizardmix Sounds like a great item!
Such genuine people! Watching the reactions from the other couples is the best part
Packing cells are the best thing ever for travel! We absolutely love them! So many great tips from all of you and so amazing seeing you all hanging out together! Really like the section on things you don't use 😂 Love it! - Thomas and Sheena 😀
Agreed! And I can highly recommend that everyone carry a humidor around the world.
Chasing a Plate - Thomas & Sheena cells or cubes?
I take my prescription pills in little pill baggies (from Walgreens) -they are very small and lightweight and I transfer my prescription label onto them so I have it in case I have to prove what everything is. And we keep them from trip to trip so they're ecofriendly too. Loved this video - helpful and funny too!
1. SO glad to hear full time travelers say they use the folding method. I hate to roll my clothes - wrinkles!
2. Micellar water is truly amazing! I use it everyday traveling or not.
3. Love y'all and these vlogs!
Woohoo! I'm totally getting some micellar!
In the first 2:30mins I came to a WHOLE NEW APPRECIATION for how natural Kara is around a camera. Not posing (unless it's being silly), not overly fussing with herself, not trying to 'laugh pretty', not trying to position herself to be noticed... suddenly it just hit me how REAL she is on camera. And yes, I know there's edited moments of grumpiness and it's obvious when she's being cutesy with Nate but that's also... REAL. Kara you're one in a billion!!!
Love seeing my six favorite travel vloggers together 😘
I love so much when the vloggers that I love watching get together. In the geek world we call it a crossover and it's the best! Also we were just packing today for our next trip and this was super useful.
Idk if you bring a flat iron but you should learn to curl your hair with a flat iron so you can only have one tool and do everything with it!
Dear Nate & Kara, great video! We've learned so much in this vlog! Glad to see you two hanging out with other couples who are full time travelers.
Loved these tips! As we are starting to do more flying these are super helpful!
LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing you all together!!
I am so glad you 3 couples got together ! I watch all 3 and you ALL are my favorites ! Yes I am a subscriber to all 3. 😎
Woot woot! So happy we finally got to meet them!
Great episode along with fellow CZcamsrs. I know when being a fulltime traveler it is really important to bring the essentials as well as organize everything to fit in a bag. Great tips from you guys very helpful
probably the most useful packing tip video! thanks so much!
it's funny how each couple has similar/matching suitcases. Super nice video ! Thanks for the tips !
They are seriously awesome! All 4 of them are great! I loved the first video on Endless Adventure (kinda similar in format to you guys)... and now, on my way to Way Away's!
Ooooh! I’d love an updated version of this!
Three of the vlogs in my top 5 favorites, all six of them in the same vlog. How good is that!
This was a great idea. I love the collaboration between channels. Thanks for the packing hacks.
Glad you liked it! They are super great!
Fantastic packing hacks! It's great to see all these travel pros collaborating on this.
I watch all of you on CZcams to see you altogether is a treat love you all 😍🤗
That was great! I am fan of Kara and Nate, and have added WayAway and Endless Adventure. Really nice to see you guys have fun and share you packing tips (charging case, showcap for shoes, toothbrush covers, multi-power block and multiple-bags to store cloths are the way to go). Thanks guys and enjoy your trip to Russia where I always wanted to go.
So glad you were introduced to them, they are amazing couples!
Woohoo ! Been anxiously waiting for these awesome videos since I saw the Instagram stories. You guys really surprised me when I saw you all together. 😀
Aww yay!
Ginger candies work so well for combating nausea. I am very susceptible to motion sickness and dramamine only makes me sleepy without helping the nausea. They kept me from feeling sick on the plane, the ferry, the speed boat, the longtail, in the minivan transfers from krabi to ko lanta, and on hwy 1095 to Pai. Just bite off a small piece and suck on it when you start to feel queasy. Thank you so much for this tip. I always have a couple in my day bag while traveling within easy reach. Small, light and easy to carry. I gave one to a woman on the speedboat tour who was actually turning green and starting to panic due to no sickness bag. She was fine in two minutes and couldn't thank me enough. I told her to thank you all. This tip has changed my life. I ordered mine off amazon before leaving for Thailand. Only problem is I need to find more before I fly back to the states. Thanks again.
Ginger has been a game changer for me, too! I use dried ginger capsules instead of candy, though, since I can't resist gobbling up the candy for pleasure! ; - D Capsules are also lighter weight for travel. - When they mentioned the barf bag I was like, yup, makes sense! LOL Even though ginger has dramatically improved my nausea, I still refuse to break the habit of carrying a lightweight produce bag just in case!
brilliant tips and a whole lot of fun. Thanks and safe travels guys
fun collab and tips! i had been waiting for u guys to meet and finally here u are. great to have such an idea for a get together video!
Yay!
Hey Kara and Nate, this is the video that made me addicted to your channel... and now I've watched everything up to this one... plus the most recent ones of course... keep going please...
It's adorable that the couples all have matching luggage!
Love to see you all together. Thanks for the tips
Two of my favorite travel vlog couples K&N and Endless Adventure...so dope!
Those bill containers are GREAT for earrings and necklaces! PERFECT for them!
This was awesome! loved the items you guys didn’t use... LOL found you guys via The Endless Adventure!
this was so fun to watch! please do more!
Thanks for sharing everyone's travel packing must haves and it's so fun to see what stuff you guys carry around but hardly ever use!
This is the best packing video with helpful tips - would love to see how you carry all your camera gear too!
GREAT video, guys! Thanks so much for sharing!
Great video!! I love all of the travel tips--my favorite is the Rick Steves collaboration--I'm a fan..and I love Josh's "useless" items. He's a true "Renaissance Man!" Those fountain pens are a treasure.
I'm down for a Rick Steve's collaboration (and between you and me, I've already emailed his staff, shhh)
Nice!! Sometimes he's kind of nerdy--but having been on one of his trips, I like the way he travels. I casually walked past him at the Travel Show in DC a couple of years ago--I wouldn't say I'm a groupie--but I do appreciate the free trip to Paris he gave me in 2010. And he does tend to have a more forward thinking view of the world.
Ashley, I'm so glad you got some ginger candy. I think I was the one that told you about them way back when you were in Ireland. They really work!
The ginger candies was the best tip in this video.
I love ginger chews and they get rid of nausea!! You can also use organic ginger powder-just take a pinch with water.
They're great (also SOOO delicious!!)
In my experience they also help with period pain :)
@@prsian1011 Yes to ginger powder! I can't resist gobbling up ginger candy, so my go-to is a couple of ginger capsules with water, preferably BEFORE getting on the plane or boat instead of waiting for the nausea to strike. The capsules are lightweight, too. Ginger is a game changer for sure!
My favorite packing tip of all time (courtesy of professional tour guide Sarah Murdoch of Adventures with Sarah) is to literally WEIGH each article of clothing and pack what's lightest. Game changer!
Also: 1) Starting with the lightest possible bag that meets your organizational/durability preferences. I love the suitcase-like clamshell opening of the Cotopaxi Allpa 35L so I can see where my stuff is without digging around, but Sarah Murdoch once packed 15lbs. for a two-week trip in a school-sized backpack with a small day bag/sling. Watching her pull a normal-sized down pillow out of it was like a magic trick! #priorities ; - )
2) International carry-on size backpack vs. suitcase for comfortable hands-free travel and ease on stairs, cobblestones, and dirt paths
3) Separate comfy ultralight day pack and at least one lightweight nylon shopping bag for purchases
4) Re-wearing outer layers like sweaters and trousers multiple times and prioritizing at least seven ultralight shirts and undies so I can focus on fun instead of laundry!
- Seven shirts is controversial to some, but so worth it to me for the logistical freedom from frequent hand washing & thinking about drying times or finding laundromats or laundry services. And since three (or more!) ultralight shirts can literally take the space and weight of ONE regular shirt, my bag is still easy to carry
- On Gossamer or Fruit of the Loom mesh undies weigh almost nothing and dry in a snap
5) A few key comfort items in day pack since being warm, pain-free, hydrated, and not hungry can make the inevitable hassles and delays of travel feel more like a fun adventure:
- lightweight but warm fleece or wool hat, even in neutral climates (we lose a ton of heat through our heads, so great for cold airplane flights, windy train platforms, or being out from day to night when the temperature drops)
- water, mini snack, ibuprofen, dried ginger capsules for motion sickness, Benadryl, a few bandaids, sunscreen
- wide and long lightweight scarf (multi-purpose for sun coverage, warmth, covering shoulders at religious sites, dressing up an outfit, etc.)
-
WINTER clothing tips from someone who's lived in sub-zero climates:
* Check what the locals wear: chances are you probably don't need boots if you're traveling in cities vs. wilderness trekking
* Make sure every outfit is compatible with freezing outdoors AND sweltering indoors:
- Multiple thinner weight, easily adjustable layers (e.g. instead of a turtleneck, thick pullover sweater, bulky parka, and thick wool hat and scarf, a lightweight undershirt, thin to medium sweater, open-front vest or medium jacket, crushable down outer jacket, and varied weight hat and scarves)
* I use TWO hats for ideal temperature regulation: a thin but ultra-warm base hat (fleece or wool) plus a stretchier and lighter second hat to swap as needed or layer both if outdoors after sunset or sitting/standing still for a long time
* Warm outer layer scarf (broad and pliable vs. thick and bulky for better filling of air gaps), plus ultralight scarf for indoors (I swap them when going in or out, or layer both when extra cold)
-
My favorite time-tested, truly excellent SUN PROTECTION products:
* Colorescience SPF50 POWDERED sunscreen with brush applicator. Expensive but packs light, doesn't count towards liquids, and really works! Check their website for 3-for-2 or 2-for-1 deals
* San Diego hat company UPF50 ribbon hat with 5" brim. Totally crushable yet re-forms like magic, and brim is easily adjustable to block slanting rays. Truly an amazing product
* La Roche Posay anthelios mineral sunscreen (no breakouts even with my ultra-sensitive skin!). Seems expensive, but goes farther than more watery brands, so cheaper and lighter to carry per ounce of sun protection
-
For the LADIES:
* Diva cup and/or washable pads and/or period panties
* Mini glam pack in day bag for dressing up an outfit for evening without having to go back to lodgings (mine fits in a coin purse and weighs only a couple ounces!):
- fancy statement earrings and/or necklace
- eyeliner and lip liner used with lip balm for lighter carry than lipsticks. (Every little bit helps!)
- bobby pins, hair elastic, and/or combs or barrette
- optional ultralight pretty sheer scarf (my favorite weighs almost nothing and fits in my 3 by 4.5 inch flat coin purse with everything above)
* For work or special occasion travel (e.g. weddings) where social norms of wearing varied outfits may feel more pressing:
- multiple ultralight scarves in different colors and patterns can add huge variety to a minimalist capsule wardrobe in almost no space or weight
- V- or scoop-necks worn back to front
- Elastic-waist straight skirt rolled up at top to vary length
- Consider contrasts of light and dark, texture, pattern, color, and/or silhouette for more visual variety
- Prioritize more tops vs. bottoms for more variety in photos (and less laundry!)
- Buy/commission or make reversible skirts, shirts, dresses, and sweaters:
Lots of ideas at Helene Clarkson, Diane Von Furstenberg, Vetta, Twee in One, etc.
Some cute ones:
- black Arica Reversible Tank Top and the Roma 4 Way Reversible Sweater at Helene Clarkson
- Koren Reversible Mesh Dresses at Diane Von Furstenberg
- black/black check Reversible Satin Midi Skirt at Vetta (but in a more travel-friendly fabric)
To anyone who actually read this far, Happy Travels! ; - D
First time watching a video from your channel and it was great! The tips were super useful!
Btw for the shower cap/shoe hack, you can also use grocery bags or any small plastic bag you have on hand.
Great video...I first watched this video on TEA channel and here I am 2 yrs later watching it on yours. TEA inspired me to make vlogs and you both have inspired me to travel once covid-19 is gone. Hope TEA gets their van running soon. Be cool to see you guys connect again. Safe travels.
Thanks guys. Great information.
I am sooo glad you hooked up with Way Away and Endless Adventure. I watch all of your channels and noticed you were all in the same part of the world (and almost told all you guys to meet up somewhere) LOVE watching all you guys, keep up the great work!!!

good idea that you formed a group and discussed all the tips and hacks which I found were very handy and useful. thanks team.
Thank you for the tips! My family and I just spent three weeks in Europe so packing efficiencently was a must. We used packing cubes for the first time, but there is definitely still room for improvement. -Michelle :)
No way! Ive been following the Endless Adventure for a while now, great to see that you guys met up! I had a feeling you may run into each other as both vlogs seemed to be heading to Estonia!
Its soooo inspiring to see you all :D
Great Video. Thank you for posting.
Love you two. Very informative. Thank you.
It was so entertaining watching you guys, Very funny :D
These couples are real goals!❤️
Really enjoyed this video! I especially like the items that you rarely used. Haha!
Here to make sure that I didn't just imagine that they actually had one packing video already😁
This was great and funny! Great Idea to do this.
I was hysterical watching this - you guys are a riot!
Oh that's some interesting stuff for our next trip stay safe
Just discovered this video and it was so much fun!!
I've been watching you for almost a month. I kept seeing this in my suggestions so I decided to watch. When it started I said, wait that's Nate and Kara, LOl. Small world.
This is such a helpful video!
Great tips! I used to have a silicon case attached to my phone and I was always scared of cards slipping out. Having one with a bit of a lid would be very handy.
Awesome video!!! So useful and so entertaining! And now I get to check out two new travel CZcams channels! Great people and great content!
Interesting video--thanks! Velcro strips to keep necklaces untangled is genius! And I enjoyed the what have you NOT used section (fountain pens & humidor definitely win! ; - ).
All of you are absolutely adorable! I would love for you to do a vlog packing your entire case and explaining what works for you...Cheers!
Amazing what Eric manages to squeeze into his. So small but he gets it all in there.
So all of you do have a video together this is awesome
Cool video! I subscribed and also made some notes 😍
These were all such great tips, I wish I knew all of these last month when I was packing for Australia! I especially liked the shower cap idea! Lush also do powdered dry shampoo, it's really good!
Awesome video! Thank you!
This is my first time seeing all of you guys. But I feel like I know you. I actually travel for work-road warrior. So I can relate to packing the useless items. Thanks for sharing. You all should travel together.
Cool video. Thanks guys!
Totally going to buy the dry shampoo powder! I didn’t know they made that!!!
the humidor make me laugh soooo much ! Awsome video !!
Subscribed cause i saw you on endless adventure :)
I love this series... Some useful information mixed with entertainment...
T.E.A lead me to WayAway, which lead me here to Kara&Nate (and on to others also)
I wish that your schedules would mesh up again to make another group series (maybe to reflect / assess where you've improved)...
All my favorites in one video!!❤️💕
Lots of fun to see!!!
I’m not even exaggerating Eagle Creek Packing Cubes thill me so immensely 😂
Watching again. One of my favs👍🍷😁
Oh yea! We were in that same place just couple weeks ago and loved the place! Tallinn is amazing and we were extremely happy to stay there and visit Telliskivi to have amazing food 🥘.
My favorite "hack" cable ties. Helps me organize my cables and they are all around useful.
Yes! Fountain pens!!! I love them and also amazing notebooks :). Which might become a problem.
Nice to see you all in the same place. Hope you had amazing time in Estonia.
Antti /Lanttimatkat
That was pretty fun!!!
Why is this not a million views already?? HAHAHA this is so raw, funny and messy :D
