You should head back down there, I didn't see it in motion but saw the E9 outlawed with a cut of cars between antonio and alamosa two days ago. looks like they are hauling freight with it currently!
I don't believe they are running anymore. If they are I wouldn't expect much action. The host railroad went bankrupt and most of the assets have been sold.
@@travelingtom923 Yeah I know about Iowa Pacific and such going bankrupt a while ago. I heard this freight train runs twice weekly and still operates as of last year, I guess only time will tell If we get to see them do anything.
@@northernohiorailfanningpro8899 I have a friend who owns a few passenger cars in Alamosa. He said there is a shortline from Walsenburg that still services the industries there. How much they do I am not sure, but if you can catch them going over the pass it would be a good video as the grades are really steep. Iowa Pacific used to take trains over the pass at night but you could catch local action during the day.
Daaaaaaaamn that horn is beautiful
That is a nice horn.
You can hear that horn all over the south end of the valley.

those SD9043MACs are long gone?
I think they are still there. All the locomotives were for sale.
Nice night footage.
Great filmed.
Thank you.
Do they still operate freight trains and if so, how often do they run? Ill be in the area for a day or two and was hoping to see em.
