It actually turned out a lot better than I thought it would when Jimmy bought it. Congratulations to all involved, and I hope to see it in person one day.

It’s amazing to watch from the phone call he received that the other bidder dropped and he won the bid at auction to this.

Jimmy you're a genius. This thing spent almost 40 years in the desert, and nobody wanted it. Now a bunch of keyboard commandos hiding behind their avatars criticize you for taking a risk and preserving history. This nation was built by people with guts that took risk and worked hard. Jimmy stopped by Graceland on his way to Oshkosh and they fired the girl who let him into the parking lot, so let Graceland know how you feel about that.
Well done Jimmy. Great job, I thought he had dug a big hole when he bought this at auction. Just proves, with passion and great vision anything is possible.
@@garethconnett7672 You haven't watched Jimmy's video. This is still a work in progress. The interior isn't done because they didn't have time. He had a couple professional detailers come in an clean the interior the best they could. They said there were a few stains they had trouble getting out. His goal is to keep the original interior, but he's going to make it more functional. Air conditioning is high on the list. The cockpit still needs a lot of work. They're going to reupholster the seats and they still need to finish installing all of the controls from the chassis. They basically just had time to hook up the bare minimum before they left. Stuff like the switch for the jakes was absent. I'd like to think one of the longer term goals would be to have a functioning lavatory and kitchen. That'd eliminate the need to bring a second RV along for 1 or 2 day trips.

Was great to see it at Oshkosh after following its journey on CZcams .
Jimmy can now show the Elvis Jet in Oshkosh and the SEMA Show, gathering two different publics at once.
I guess that is the original TV, so it probably uses a VHF signal. He said the TV is still working. There are some adapters for VHF/UHF signals to HDMI. So, Jimmy could use a compact DVD player, or other device, to play some Elvis images on that TV. The experience could be even better.

Better than i imagined. Maybe have some audio/video pieces that can play on loop Elvis tv, and music inside and out to make a more complete experience. Good job

As a commercial truck driver, I've got to ask how change out those drive tires or roadside change outs in the event of a blowout?
We've survived a number of blowouts with a low deck step trailer, which is always an event and generally happens at night.
It's sad to see it without wings and tail, but Jimmy had nothing to do with it getting to that state, and saved what he could in the best way he could take it to as many people as possible.
Wonderful and tastefully done.
It is going to be a distinctive attraction for many years

Ya fooled me Jimmy (In a good way)! Been watching since before you got the “first” phone confirmation while driving down the road. You stuck with it man through thick and thin. I guess you can add “Visionary” to your resume with no problem from anyone. Name for the Jet… it’s already on it for the whole world to see in giant letters and a cool graphic. @@wstlndiesel: Actually he flew on it several times when being on Top Secret missions for the CIA. I know this because I was his handler back then (and was instrumental in arranging his fake death). Jimmy is a SCAMMER‼️ Elvis NEVER flew on the jet‼️ Its all a scam to promote his CZcams Channel. There are no pics or flight log showing Elvis as a passenger.
Elvis bought that 8 months before he passed. He never even stepped foot on it and the interior was done by the previous owner.
Had he bought $230k worth of NVIDIA stock 18 months ago, he’d have turned that into $1M.
That is flat awesome! A great way to save a piece of musical and aviation history.

I'm thinking Jimmy fibbed a little. I saw the program where he found and examined the plane in N.M. where it had been abandoned by the owner after Elvis had sold the plane. The engines were missing and when Jimmy researched them he discovered they were no longer made. The engines were also no longer legal to use because it cost as much to make them noise compliant as it did to buy them. Jimmy bought the plane anyway for an outrageous amount of money for what it was. I hope he can recoup his losses.
The bigger fib is Elvis never flew in or even saw in-person this aircraft. It was owned by his company for a few months and never used or fitted out for Elvis.
It should have a real low drag coefficient, especially for a motorhome!

He paid $250,000 for the Jet, put $100,000 in parts and labor into it for a total of $350,000. Not sure how much the Wing Tags brought in.
He’s a good enough businessman not to tell, but I did the math on the number of tags made and how much they’re selling for. If I remember correctly if he sold every tag made he would nearly double the money he spent on the Jetstar originally. He says in the video he’s sold half the tags so far so I would guess the original purchase price is just about covered, though not the RV build. I think he always planned for the tags to cover the whole project plus a little extra if they all sell.
I figured out at the beginning that was his plan from the get go. He’s both a good businessman and a good showman so he plays up how crazy it is what he’s doing as if it’s all spontaneous, but folks forget he made his fortune as an entrepreneur. He had a complete plan to not only break even but make a profit plus steady income off the whole thing before he ever spent 230k plus on the Elvis Jet. :)
