  • Howdy folks! I hope this finds you well! After playing Brothers in Arms, I finally got back to the game I grew up with and made me interested in WW2, Call of Duty 2.
Wow this game still holds up in so many ways. From it's gunplay, to it's visual scale, CoD2 delivers in so many ways, and I'm happy to bring that to you.
I think later Call of Dutys can be riddled with problems or insane goals for their game, but back in 2005, it was a mix of not just mindless shooting, but also grounding players in history.
The level design makers need a raise too, 20 years retrospectively..
    Thanks for stopping by!
    All the best,
    Dog Dad

Howdy Folks! Thanks for stopping by, I hope this finds you well. Today we'll be talking about Call of Duty 2, one of the best action games of the early 2000's, let me know what you remember from this game, if you enjoyed the multiplayer, or anything else that comes to mind.

I learned about pointe du hoc because of this game. a few years ago i went and when i tell you it was almost EXACTLY the same as how they portrayed it in this game is amazing.

First call of duty I ever got into and it still holds up pretty well these days. Driving the tanks in first person is cool as hell, and still one of my fav implementations of tanks. Me being a teen without any money, the copy I “acquired” didn’t have any soundtrack and a lot of missing dialogue. What was interesting was that it didn’t negatively affect the experience, instead it made it much creepier and atmospheric.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this! I find that interesting about the copy! Could you elaborate how you got it, if you feel comfortable and of course can be vague. I'd be interested to hear more about the alternative experience playing it like that, did you ever go back and play it with full sound? Hope this finds you well!

I was 3 years old when it came out, lol; it wasn't my first call of duty; that honor goes to the big red one. However, I got to play it when I bought it for Steam in 2021, and I have played it twice since. I knew of it as i watched playthroughs for years, but it was nice finally getting to play it as it was the one cod game I never played that had a campaign BO4 doesn't count, I love Call of Duty 2, it's well made even to this day, and i will always remember the soviet union missions. and the British North Africa campaign missions. Which was a theatre we'd only seen properly one other time in the big red one. (Vanguard barely counts). I wish COD delved into different theatres more often. So many missed opportunities.
My favorite missions or series of missions are the Stalingrad missions and the Caen missions. They were the missions I could always replay.
Hill 400 was also an amazing mission, just a slog to beat but so much fun.

Howdy! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this. I never played big red one, but saw it advertised in game informers. That's amazing that you got to play it yourself. I could not agree with you more about the missions, especially Caen; some of the most intense PvE firefights, just with how they molded everything together, sound/gunplay/movement, spectacular to say the least. Thank you so much again for taking the time. I hope this finds you well.

This game has a special place in my heart. I remember that first mission on the American campaign and how in awe I was. I recall being around 8 or 9 years old playing online alot, joining realism clans and playing on modded realism servers. Being on Teamspeak, playing tactically with a bunch of teenagers 😂 great times. Loved the video

Howdy Numo, thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I truly appreciate it!
I loved the multiplayer! Some servers had a mod of the scope used for the Soviet gun, I felt like I was in starwars ahaha.
Oh and teamspeak? Now you’re talking my language; even though I was a Vent guy for EverQuest ahahah. I truly appreciate you taking the time not only to write this, but also watch the video.

2 things i didnt liked about the game.
1-i wanted more soviet missions , maybe something out of the city but still loved all 3 fronts of the single player.
    2-Potatos where overpowered

Potato’s are overpowered and yes. I was actually surprised by the Soviet campaigns length, especially with the British having an extra mission set? Why not focus on some obscure part of the Russian/german offensive. It would be cool to visit those unknown cities
