This is exactly why I love this channel. I would never have known about this comic if cartoonist kayfabe didn’t exist. I have shelves of books solely based on the discoveries made from this channel. Thank you so much Jim, I desperately hope you are doing as well as this horrible situation can allow. Please, please, please keep going cartoonist kayfabe going in whatever form you can!

Thank you Jim and Ed for banking all these videos. Missing you Ed but you’ll be with us always.

  • @ThePerspectionist

Being the Hip Hop fan Ed was, he just cemented himself as the 2pac of the comics world releasing so much content after his tragic death. True legend immortalized.

JAXON’s work is gold. So many underground artists remain unsung (like Rand Holmes-featured in that Slow Death floppy-a top-notch craftsman). Hopefully that changes with time.

It's been a Rough month but I'm back. I love this channel Cartoonist Kayfabe has become important to me as have you guys. Love to you Jim and thanks.

  • @nickknez8294

I have all these Jaxon books. He was a dope artist and important historian. I love that you guys showcase a wide variety of artist and not just super hero shit.

It is bitter sweet hearing Ed’s voice.

  • @t-rex7759

    Keep it going Jim!

  • @evanlindsey1100

I've known about Jaxon for years, due to reading about a book called "The Secret of San Saba", and his collaboration with Joe R. Landsdale on a Jonah Hex miniserie in the 90s.

  • @mrtchadd

Just ordered a small heap of Jaxon comics from Last Gasp. Good timing.

  • @T.Ross.

    Awesome!

  • @user-cv2rp4fz1o

Thank you. Another great video of another artist I've never heard of.

  • @brightgreenpupil

    Thank you.

Cartoonist Kayfabe has become an essential part of comic book culture. Long may it reign.

A little underground comix tidbit about Larry Gonick that I learned last year while reading the Fantagraphics Wimmen's Comix collection: it appears to me that he was the only man to have work in Wimmen's Comix. He inked and lettered a piece that was written and pencilled by Terry Richards in #8. His Cartoon History of the Universe is interesting and reflective of vast knowledge. Such a project is obviously an insanely major undertaking. I'd be interested to see such a thing attempted again with newer scholarship.

  • @jeremystone286

Jaxon was one of the greats, for sure.

  • @DWNicolo

Fantagraphics also published Comanche Moon as well at the same time.

  • @Ant_From_Ohio

This is pretty much the only channel where my comments don't get removed by CZcams.
