Dear Melissa, Been a follower for eons & I can honestly say that these videos have saved me so much money. Now almost all my skincare is Korean or Japanese based. I have been severely sick for almost a month. First I got covid then this Winter flu that has plagued the country. I came to my daughters for Christmas & yes I am still here. My saving grace is I brought my skin & hair care with me. When you are so sick Just brushing your teeth is a chore. My skin was getting dry as the desert. To the rescue, cleanse, the AHA, BHA, PHA toner the Bifida & lip mask. Just getting that far for a couple of weeks saved my starving, parched skin. Can't say enough about those two products.
Thank you for always looking out for us, because I know you have struggles of your own, but it doesn't keep you from putting that beautiful smile forward & keeping us informed. I’ve tried all sorts of high end brushes, until I stumbled across the Believe Beauty brushes at none other than Dollar General…I know, sounds crazy, but go spend $4 on their foundation and blush brushes, I’m certain you’ll love them. I’m going to grab a bunch of their eye brushes as well. Can’t beat the quality for the price.
Where would I be without these videos that give us the lowdown on beauty?! I have seriously come to believe that I never have to buy high end ANYTHING anymore…somebody did it cheaper and many times better…😊

The only thing that I felt was worth it until they changed the formula was Bobbi Brown serum foundation. I’ve never found anything since that comes close - it was the perfect your skin but better while covering hyperpigmentation - I’m oily and dry and it worked over every primer too, from Future Dew and Backlight primer, to Face Base - everything else is too thick, dry, or it emphasizes my pores like crazy. I’m so bummed! I will splurge on foundation and concealer because my skin is so dry and finicky (under my eyes) that the only concealer that doesn’t look dry is Tarte Creaseless, and I have to put a heavy balmy eye cream underneath it still!! I like L’Oréal serum but it’s not as blurring and smoothing. I have to be really careful around my nose and mouth - heavy foundations pull my mouth sides down, making me look horrible!!

Hi Melissa! I just finished the Elf lip mask & I thought I flew through it, because I did!!! You only get 4.4 grams in it vs 20 grams in the Laneige Lip mask!!! I thought it was a money saver but was shocked when I compared the two!!! I fly through lip products because of my dry mouth! Everytime I do an empties video I have a ton of lip products! Just wanted to let you know about the size comparison I did!🌺

Great options. The tip about using the hair bonding before washing (but wetting the hair) is the best. I have a bottle of Olaplex 3 but can’t be bothered with the official directions.

Best lip sleeping mask at the drugstore is the Neutrogena lip sleeping mask $10. Not only is it good, but it beats the dozen high end ones I have. And it’s in a tube so I don’t have to stick my fingers in it. Still on in the morning!

I've got a recommendation. I bought the lanolin cream moms use when breast feeding and that is the best lip conditioner ever. I especially put it on at night as our skin tends to get dehydrated during the night time. Also it's cause effective, you'll get a bang for your buck.

I like the Laniege. It lasts overnight on me most of the time. However, I don’t think it’s any better than some other lesser priced lip masks. I only buy it when it’s on sale or I find it at Marshall’s or TJM. I kmew when you showed that Haus lip crayon you were going to dupe it with the Maybelline. I believe Maybelline makes the best drug store lipstick. I love your eye makeup in this video. I hope you’re doing better!

As a Canadian our prices are extremely different ours are double sometimes triple the cost it’s almost never just the dollar exchange so I really appreciate these videos because there’s no way I can afford high end or luxury products, I’ve never been disappointed with a purchase I made from your recommendations especially skin care oh my gosh you have skin care nailed ! I’ve seen such a difference in my texture. We need to remember that being human we are going to have texture but we can make it better it will never go away completely 100% plz don’t believe any Creator telling you if you buy - product it will completely disappear because it won’t they’re being Sponsored ( paid) to try and sell you the products, the products I have gotten from Melissa’s reviews have made a big difference in my skin and would have cost the same as what I’ve been using before. Remember just because it’s not costing you an absolutely high price tag doesn’t mean it’s just not as equally good, this shows us that those high tags are just to pay for a name on a bottle you really can get very high quality products at a much more affordable price tag. What’s affordable to you could be very different than what I think is affordable so we need to remember that as well, but paying 30 dollars vrs 100 dollars I know what choice I’m going to make and I believe nothing on The Ordinary Site is above that price point and they have amazing skin care that for me is around that 12 dollar mark and I can get three Months out of certain products some 5 weeks. But my entire routine day n night is under 75 dollars and some bottles last 3 Months so do the math I’m also 47 and pretty much every dark spot on my face has disappeared or on its way to be completely gone, as a kid and teen of the 80s we were not putting on sunscreen the way we are now so I had a few sun spots that really bothered my and today they don’t bother me at all or very little vrs before I made changes based on Melissa’s recommendations. I hope today is treat everyone well and if not like me having a bad pain day I have to remind myself it will get better xo .

It’s been a long time so I’m elated to find you here! My mobile home burned down and I lost all 7 of my precious kitties. I’m blessed at the moment with a gorgeous rental but I’m in such a terrible financial and housing insecurity in about 3 months so I’ve just gotten back into my face care routine. Hey Melissa, another drugstore alternative for the ferment filtrate products, is Physicians Formula Essence of Healthy Toner & Setting Spray. They do themselves a disservice by marketing this as a setting spray, it should be marketed as skincare. It has some really nice ingredients at a decent price point.

Yep! @@FourJaysFour I don't spray it directly on my face, instead spray it into my hands and press it onto my face. Sometimes I use it to set my concealer, by spraying a bit onto the back of my hand tap my brush--I use a bdellium 788--into the product, then gently press it under my eyes. Don't overload the brush or it will remove the concealer. A sponge works too, I prefer brushes. With the tool that works for you, this technique can be used to set your whole face.
Hi Melissa the Kiko shadow sticks are a great dupe to the Laura Mercier and by Terry- a plethora of shades available too. Both the LM and by Terry are made in Italy and Kiko is an Italian brand (probably the same factory 😂). Best wishes x

I’m looking for a dupe for Bobbi Brown Sand Dune eyeshadow stick and their old serum foundation formula (new one is too thick and doesn’t have the luminosity) - Sand Dune is the perfect neutral color “no makeup” base color but nothing is exact that I’ve found - I think MAC has a light brown that’s similar.

Estée Lauder advanced night repair is my holy grail serum. I buy it strategically on sale and or with Ulta points. Today it was half price in the Ulta sale, so I got the $245 bottle half price and then for free with my Ulta points. I had trier the L’oreal Midnight serum which sure looks inspired by EL, especially the packaging, but I did not like it.

The instant somebody says they got their information about something from TikTok, I immediately dismiss it because TikTok is so full of misinformation. But I'm willing to selectively and temporarily suspend that judgment at certain times, and there were a few instances in this video I felt comfortable doing that.
I only heard about one of these products from TikTok. And it wasn't one of the alternatives. That one I discovered on my own.
I love the Tatcha products and they are lovely. After a few days though they cause painful breakouts on me. I’ll have to look into the Milani.

I like the ordinary copper peptide serum. I get the large bottle; its about $30 which seems pricey for the ordinary but you do get straight product; no fillers. I also don't put it on a cotton pad. I drip it on my face or hand and pat it in. That way you're not wasting product in the cotton pad. Hope this helps@@wendyfrench8042
