  • Today I built a table out a whiskey barrel. And this table can dispense 5 beers through a secret compartment! Enjoy.

    Wes Barker is a Canadian magician and comedian doing funny tricks, and telling great stories. You may (or may not) know Wes from his TV show Big Trick Energy. Well that's TV... this is CZcams! So watch here for hilarious, ridiculous, and unfiltered ideas with magic, stunts, and pranks. I am the funniest magician that is also a stand-up comic, or maybe I'm the comic who is best at magic. Either way you get the idea. I tour all over doing colleges, comedy clubs, and corporate events. Catch the adventures and tricks right here. With this magician / comedian based out of Vancouver and Toronto, Canada. I make funny stuff. That’s my only rule. Everything has to be funny, from street magic to stage illusions, as long as there is a joke to be made. I do magic tricks, sketches, stand-up comedy, card tricks, mind reading, and tricks with naked people. I’ve been on America’s Got Talent, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, MTV Greatest Party Stories Ever, and Wizard Wars. You can find me pulling pranks on friends, gags on strangers, or just general sleight of hand, magic, illusions, and the occasional bar bet. Wes Barker also hosts a podcast with Chris Ramsay called Bottom Of The Barrel. Go check it out!

    Not a suggestion for the table, but for the video you should have had Chris’ reaction as the closer/outro. After watching the build I wanted to see it again as the finale and had to rewind it to find that spot.

    Engineering Wes! Making me think... I would love to expand on this idea, but have no tools and cannot drink beer.
    However... immediate idea is that you have a spinning table with a simple gear underneath it that causes the rotation, much like the axel of a car and its wheels. An arm at the side with the hole in the pipe that pushes the beer into the slot with some thin, hard guides. Each time you push the dispenser pipe down, the gear rotates another beer into position and pulling up will push the beer into position with the lever (obvious height differential to compensate for the gap & delay) and then it comes out to you. You have a gap between the wheel of beer and the centre pole to place your icepacks and load it. Should fit, what, a full twelve pack? Legs are then extending from below the cage that holds the two gears and lever system. I do not have Instagram or anything... but I can find a way to draw you a simple picture if that would help.

    • @NelielSugiura
      @NelielSugiura Před 3 lety

      Here is the gear I mean: www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thomasnet.com%2Farticles%2Fmachinery-tools-supplies%2Funderstanding-gears%2F&psig=AOvVaw1U-AvmstBo65kYPFkTMnfM&ust=1624732434625000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAoQjRxqFwoTCNDxy5O2s_ECFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD
      You have the spiral bit on your beer pole, an intermediary (or multiple as needed to control the rotational amount) between it and the outer one, which has the teeth pointed inward.

    I wonder if you can't utilize a lazy susan and then your shaft wouldn't have to spin if you got a way to spin that instead. Your solution is probably the best bang-for-buck without overdoing and overthinking everything but it's fun to think of new ideas for this!

    Would be cool to make one out of entire barrel, make a door at the side, fit in an entire fridge, make sure the heat does not get trapped and air can circulate, drill a hole at the top of the fridge...
    You could also add some hidden marking at the top so you can easily distinguish correct positions and load different drinks as requested:p

    Nice work Wesley. If you had a circular slide going around the inside (like a mini plastic slide like on a playground) I bet you could fit more cans & you also wouldn't need to turn the dispenser to reload. A hidden access door could be cut between the boards as well. A thin Dremel type tool would be good to minimize the cerf making the edges of the door nearly invisible...

    While I won't be building one, I had an initial thought. A soda can storage rack/dispenser seems like an obvious go to. Not only would it hold more than your 4/5 beers, it would act as a cage so the positioning could probably be a little more flexible. Also, the top of the dispenser rack could be made to be right behind a fake bung hole. That way, you don't even have to get inside. Just pop off the bung, load up the beers, put the bung back on. Only thing from here is really a cooling system.
    I see something like an escapement mechanism being used to control too many beers trying to get loaded into the chute at once.

    I was thinking linear actuator, then rotate a revolving chamber above the cup which holds the beers. Activate the actuator and it'll move up, push the beer, and pop it out the top. Make the revolving "clip" able to be slid in and out easily for quick reloading, add some insulation or cooling and you'll be on to a winner.

    You could have used some springs to push a beer into the empty chamber. and then use a rail system to push the beers around in a circle. then you dont have to rotate the cylinder. and make the spring that pushes the beer into place, compress when the beer cylinder is pulled up. that way a fresh beer is loaded into the next up spot.

    Ok you need to keep the gate in one place, (no twisting necessary) some sort of spring, band or bungee cord to “load” them. Bags of ice would leak all over so you need some sort of bucket or use those plastic ice things ppl use in coolers.
