We are trying to do a 5 bedroom two story building but neither me nor my husband will be there for the starting due to some urgent problems and we don't want to wait because money is very slippery these days. I know you briefly mentioned this but I’d like to know what you would recommend/suggest building through a construction company or sole trader?
I’m so glad you found it helpful. As far as construction company vs local tradesmen. Both at good options. It just depends if you have your own project manager to manage task on site by various tradesmen. Construction companies have foreman and project managers of their own. It also depends on your budget and timeline for your project

Your explanations are very impressive I would like to know the size of the house please( Area) so that I can work out for the budget. I want to check the cost of the structure per square meter pleaee.
Hi Ramesh, To tell you the truth I never really had a total on square meter or square foot of the house. I did it room by room for tiling. For instance, I would have the living room measured length and width to get the square footage of the room, then I will take the size of the tile I will be using(24/24) and how many of it came in a case(usually 4-6 tiles) and the cost per case. I would put this information in tile calculator on Home Depot website to get and good estimate how many cases I will need for that particular room(consider you will loose certain amount to breakage and cutting) I did this with every room in the house and my estimates were pretty accurate. I started doing this when my first tile Guy started overestimating how many cases of tiles I will need for each room. I had all the info I needed.. I knew the size of the tile, the cost per case and the square footage of the room so I did my homework and with each room I was on point. You can do the same. Hope this helps. If your on the ground it will be even easier for you.

What the import tax for shipping furniture & cars
We bought most of our furniture in Liberia. The cost to ship our mattresses included all taxes which was paid to the shipping company here in Minnesota. We have not shipped cars yet.

The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. I don’t have the exact square footage but it’s around 1800 square feet.

Hi Sheila. We contracted several different people to do work on the house at different points during the built. Our builder, who did majority of the work on the house, from foundation to roof, is a masonry name Pascar. Little bit of a language barrier but he does really good work. 011 231 7752 60698

We didn’t use construction companies. We used local tradesmen/ contractors for various parts of the built. I do have tradesmen info in the description section of several videos on my channel.

I AF (International Aluminum Factory) is a company I’ve used many times for several different work when I was building the house… they installed my windows, shower glass Closures for both bathrooms, porch Railings, and did my entire kitchen. There’s a video on my channel for each of the work they did. Their address and contact info is in the description section of each of those video.
I also got a lot of my building materials from Universal Business Center on Robertsfield Highway and Rehab Road
