Plays multiple instruments. This is the performance that gained him world wide fame and a fan base called 'Dears' (because they are dear to him.) This is just the tip of the iceberg. He is humble, kind, giving, loves his family and country of Kazakhstan. He is gorgeous and 6' 3". He has a fun sense of humor and is playful. He lives for music. What they didn't tell you is no contestant had even heard him before this program. He was picked as a wild card for the show and he went first. He has pitch perfect and so much control and can hold a note for over 24 seconds. All the contestants are really good also. He always thanks the maestro for his music. Very humble person. This was shown in 2017 Dimash was 22 at the time.his birthday is May 24 1994. Please check out more from the singer. By the way stay away from the show The Worlds Best. They chop up the songs and they also lied to Dimash. Dimash asked them if he would be competing against children and they said no but he found out in the finals the truth. He quit and gave up 1 million because it was against his culture to complete with kids. He came in second place only because it was against their rules for a foreigner to win.the next year that rule was changed and Jesse J won.Thank for your reaction and stay safe.
To clarify: World’s Best chopped up his songs and deceived him about children performing in the competition. It was in the 2017 Singer program that Dimash came in second place, etc.

Ah, Daniel, you've just stepped very close to another rabbit-hole...I was involved with music for over 50-years of my life, listened to more singers in more genres than you could shake a stick at, and I have *never* heard anyone this talented, period, full-stop. Some has to be genetic: his Father is nationally known as a Kazakh folk-singer while his Mother is an operatic soprano. But, a lot is sheer determination and study...the old joke, "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice." 2 points..."Dih-MAHSH"...also, singing in 12 languages doesn't mean he speaks that many...I could sing in 7 or 8, but, I only *speak* English, along with a bit of Italian (the language of music)...I'll only suggest 2 more songs, even though I'd recommend watching ALL of his videos: his cover of the Queen song, "The Show Must Go On," czcams.com/video/ul3kpE1qcow/video.html and the amazing "duet" that is "Ogni Pietra," czcams.com/video/dkPS6t84qg4/video.html Great reaction video, as always...and, welcome to the Land of the Dears, as he calls his fans...

Welcome to the world of Dimash!!! This show called The Singer, is a singing contest in China. Dimash was a contestant in 2017, and does not speak or understand Chinese, and SOS was his first performance on that show. Dimash became an overnight sensation in China, after this performance, yet no one in that audience spoke French!!! His every performance is worth watching but I would like to ask you to react to "All By Myself". It is episode 9 and is sung in English. You are probably most familiar with the Celine Dion version but it was first recorded by Eric Carmen. If you were surprised by SOS, you are not going to believe what you are about to witness during this performance!!!!! BUCKLE UP and HOLD ON!!!!

In actual fact, Dimash was very nervous here, He was in China, alone, without his family, knowing everyone else in the show were established popular singers and Dimash was unknown. If you watch that whole episode of I am Singer, you see him waiting to go on first and he is shuffling his feet and clenching his fists and yet as soon as he was on stage, he is immediately putting on a performance. Dimash also composes, directs, dances, is hardworking, humble and respectful.

You won't be listening to his music on the radio or seeing him often on Western television, but this artist's fan base is larger and more loyal than some of the most famous and international pop stars.
People will fight you online if you pronounce the wrong name, your fans will spend hours watching your videos, opening fan clubs around the world and leaving long comments on CZcams with the story of each song. They are obstinate and well prepared. My question was necessary at this point. What made these people so close to him, and what does he have that other artists don't?
He doesn't need paid advertising because his fans will do it for free. They genuinely love this artist so much that they want to make him known at all costs. Some claim he provides them to overcome depression, others say he has changed their lives with his music, some fans even believe he is an angel or a superhuman. If you send in that Michael Jackson had some diehard fans, Dimash fans, who call themselves Dears, are clearly above them all.
As soon as I heard his voice, I was immediately impressed in 2017. No wonder his fans are obsessed, his voice is incredible and, at first glance, he also seemed like a very humble person. The 26-year-old Kazakhstan artist reached stardom for the first time after participating in some national competitions and spreading his fame abroad, taking second place in the Chinese program - I Am A Singer 2017-. In this show, he was the youngest participant to compete against established and professional Chinese artists.
One of the songs I heard him sing was a popular "S.O.S d'un terrien en détresse". A French song by Daniel Balavoine.
I was immediately impressed by his incredible technique and delivery. His vocal training is formally classic, but he can sing pop songs extremely well. Your choice of original songs and covers is never obvious and always leaves the listener in awe. What shocks me the most is the use of the vocal fry technique. He manages to hit super low notes and jump to highs so perfectly, without ever failing. Above all, the most impressive feature of his voice is the use of the "whistle".
I never heard a man use this technique before Dimash. Sorry Mariah, but her whistles are incredible. You just need to listen to his songs for yourself, because it is impossible to explain this talent with words.
His vocal range is incredible. Its length is 6 octaves and 5 semitones, ranging from a low A1 to an incredible D8.
Observing this, the highest note male record is an F # 8 and Dimash is only 3 semitones from him, I wonder if one day he would try to beat the record. Another thing that caught my attention, was the perfect pitch always impeccable .
He is probably the only singer who has never been challenged on any score, which is why many people have given the nickname "Alien".
But impeccable technique and interpretation are not Dimash's only qualities. We learned about his humanity at the -Best show in the world-, a reality show competition, where he competed in 2019.
After a few episodes, when Dimash learned that he needed to compete with the kids, he decided to give up. He explained to the crowd that he was unaware of any competition with children when he signed the contract, and such an action would have been against his morale. Incredibly, that explanation was not included in the broadcast episode, which left us perplexed after listening to RuPaul, or I must call it the "Paul Rude" explosion.
Dimash's resignation was, in my opinion, an altruistic and humble act. It takes a great man to give up his dreams to maintain his integrity, and that is what we saw in this incredible artist.
The American show increased the popularity of the Kazakh singer abroad, so much so that one of his songs, in Kazakh language, debuted on MTV USA in October 2020.
The love for his country and his honesty are always visible in all his performances. Each of his concerts always includes cultural aspects related to his country, such as the use of private instruments for accompaniment or traditional clothing and singing styles. I think the choice to sing in your native language was anything but casual. I believe that one of his goals is to increase the popularity and recognition of his country.

After all, I think we have now answered my previous question. What made this artist so close to his fans? And what does he have that others don't?
An incredible voice is not enough today. Social media has brought artists closer to their audience, who want to make sure that whoever is following is someone to relate to.
Artists like Dimash tend to gain millions of followers around the world, not only for their talent, which is definitely the main reason, but also for their humility and the way they interact with others. When people feel closer to an artist, they tend to want to know more about him. Dimash is talented enough, mysterious enough and, at the same time, so realistic that he could easily be your next-door neighbor. Yes!! I’ve been wondering when you would react to Dimash! Just FYI, in case someone hasn’t already mentioned this, he also performed this song as part of Sister Cities Int’l celebration of the presidential inauguration on Jan. 6th. It’s pretty much his signature song; he’s been singing it since 2012, as far as I can determine. Needless to say, his voice and vocal technique are even better now. I have learned plenty about Dimash over recent months, most importantly he is a wonderful human being along with being incredibly talented. Music is an art form and therefore for each of us, we find artists who reach us emotionally on some level. I have listened to a number of performances by Dimash and of course am impressed with his range and ability to hit notes which don't exist on a keyboard, yet does little for me emotionally. Maybe the gender we are attracted to has a lot to do with it. If Dimash moves you emotionally and takes you to places unimagined then I am thrilled for you. I have found my artist which does those things for me and after 62 years did not realize I was missing such an artist in my life. I recently read a comment about my favorite artist which beautifully expresses one of the things I love about Angelina Jordan. Jack wrote, What I enjoy most about Angelina's singing is that unlike a lot of singers who approach a song with an attitude of "I'm going to use this song to showcase my vocal talents", she uses her vocal talents to showcase a song's lyrics and melody. You can tell she feels a special relationship with each song she sings, and when she sings, she conveys perfectly to the audience what the song means to her. That's what they call a "stylist" and they're rare, in any era. I have no doubt Dimash fans would say the exact same thing about him. To each their own.

Great reaction, Daniel! The truly ludicrous thing about this performance of SOS is that it only scratches the surface of what Dimash can do. In fact, I've told friends that you really don't understand the depth and breadth of Dimash's range, control, styles, and transcendental talent until you've watched 4 or 5 of his performances. Then you begin to realize that every time you think you've seen his whole bag of tricks, the next performance will surprise you all over again with something new. I don't say this lightly: He truly is both a phenomenon and a modern master. If you continue your journey down the Dimash rabbit hole (and I sincerely hope that you do), here are a few performances I'd suggest checking out to begin to give you the sense of how vast his talent really is:

There are at least three parts in this song that make every singer's, producer's, and vocal coach's eyes bug out when they hear them. The song is in Russian but has CC which I suggest turning on.

It shows off a lot of his lower range and some incredible high notes, both in full classical style (it's almost hard to believe it's the same person). The song is in Italian and was written specifically for Dimash by famous Russian composer, Igor Krutoy, who basically came out of retirement to be able to write for a voice that wouldn't limit his compositions. It's a motivational song of power and inspiration meant to inspire athletes at the Olympics (and all of us as well).
- HELLO (Lionel Ritchie cover). czcams.com/video/9G92IVn8DIw/video.html Dimash starts out singing this cover of the 1980s Lionel Ritchie hit song pretty straight albeit with some eastern instrumental influence. Then he takes a hard left turn and the performance becomes transcendent. It's hard to describe the magic of this one until you see it. This song is in English.

This is one of those special performances that, if you were in the audience, you'd never forget. He legit killed this. This one is also in English.
- DIVA DANCE. czcams.com/video/o5zMupUOgQo/video.html This is the song that the blue alien sings in the movie, "The Fifth Element." It was written specifically to be unsingable by a human voice and had to be synthesized for the movie. Dimash sings it live. This is a very short performance (at ~1.5 minutes) but will convince you that Dimash is not from this planet. Btw, iirc, he's singing this at the end of a 3 hour concert.
That handful of songs will demonstrate for you that the Dimash rabbit hole is a seemingly endless well of discovery. If you want to continue (and I predict you will because literally everyone does), here are some other songs and performances that are particularly good:

Dimash did this song for the soundtrack of an Italian sci-fi movie (though he sings it in English) and it has a little more of a cinematic rock vibe to it.
