Rochester is a city in the U.S. state of New York, and the third most populous after New York City and Buffalo. It is the seat of Monroe County, with an estimated population of 206,290 in 2018. The Rochester metropolitan area has a population of just over one million people. Rochester is a global city with sufficiency status.
Rochester was one of the United States' first boomtowns, initially due to the fertile Genesee River Valley, which gave rise to numerous flour mills, and then as a manufacturing hub. Several of the region's universities (notably the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology) have renowned research programs. The area is the birthplace of Kodak, Paychex, Western Union, French's, Bausch & Lomb, Gleason, Ragú, and Xerox, which conduct extensive research and manufacturing of industrial and consumer products. Until 2010, the Rochester metropolitan area was the second-largest regional economy in New York State, after the New York City metropolitan area.[8] Rochester's gross metropolitan product has since ranked just below Buffalo's while exceeding it in per capita income in 2015.
In 2007, the 25th edition of the Places Rated Almanac rated Rochester the "most livable city" among 379 U.S. metropolitan areas. In 2010 Forbes rated Rochester the third-best place to raise a family in the United States.In 2012 Kiplinger rated Rochester the fifth-best city in the United States for families, citing low cost of living, top public schools, and a low unemployment rate.

Lived in Rochester for 3 years over 5 years back before moving West for my Job. I am now making plans to go back next year. It may not be perfect , and has its problems, but sure i miss this place. The river, the parks, the closeness to the finger lakes , the falls. Heck i even miss the winter.
I miss the winter too. I moved away, and next to Wegman’s the thing I most most is the cold.

I live in LA now and people think I’m nuts when I say I miss Rochester but it really is an underrated place to live, aside from the 8 months of winter lol

I am moving to Rochester soon, and I just finished a scouting trip there. I am so excited to live in such a vibrant place, it was a delight. Everyone was so nice, and the atmosphere was chill and welcoming. This video is better than what I took. :) thanks for sharing!

I never thought I’d say this cuz (I couldn’t wait to get out of there…. ) As we all learn… the grass isn’t ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE! but after 12 years mostly in NYC a couple in LA) I miss my home so bad. Born in 88 the first 10 years of my life I thought I was raised in one of the best places ever. I think it’s just the people and memories I miss … everyone has left with the economy that dragged my family’s deep roots deep in Kodak and xerox down with them. 😢

I love this. It really shows the beauty of the city. How did you get the permit? Did you go to the county or city hall? Did you have to show a copy of your commercial drone license? I would love to do this but I have found it murky to navigate the Rochester regulations.
