I wonder if T90 will ever wander into the difference between wonder and wander
The TC works hard let it get a lunch break
The TC's unionized and are now demanding 20 minute idle breaks every work day, as well as a retirement plan.
Watching blue made me laugh so hard because it's exactly how I play, and why I lose.
Me too. I don't ever push like this anymore because without fail i neglect my base and get wrecked. When I am playing an aggressive player I do so much better because I am always thinking about my base and vils. Last game I played actually went just like this. I wrecked hi eco, regrouped after he fought me off, came back and he had MORE than before. Resign.
if you really can't keep up with vills, just keep them constantly stacked and just waypoint them straight to lumber. Then when you need vills pull them off lumber.
Forgetting to make vills while fighting ... Very relatable. It is very hard to play aggrssive at mid elo, i always feels punished when i look back at my eco and see 1000W in the bank, idle vills and TC ... etc
Blue adding a TC right away in castle age at 12:36 was a misplay in my opinion. He probably does it because he knows it's supposed to be good to add TCs and boom, but his playstyle is way more suited to just going 1 TC all-in, at least in early castle. You'll notice throughout the game after that point even when he queues more vils it's often only in one of the TCs, not both. Red had a fair amount of idle time throughout castle age too, so if blue kept vils pumping even on just 1 TC he could have eventually caught up while also making tons of army.
You have to know your own strengths and weaknesses as a player, and sometimes it's better to just play to your strengths rather than focus too hard on your weaknesses.
Red played so awesome this game, he kept his cool and just kept that eco going. What a true mad lad 👏
Blue had a bit of tunnel vision and focused too hard on one side of red's base. Red is still open. Anyway, I suffer from the same thing too. That is why I kept losing on Arabia. 😂
Hard against anti-laming sentiment.
It has the same vibes that my local gaming store had with local halo and call of duty tournaments. Ban anything from play that the organizers arent good at countering.
If it's not a glitch, a bug, or a cheating method, it should be allowed and there should be no room for moral grandstanding.
The ONLY thing I see as an acceptable banned strat is treb sniping units. Because computer players will ALWAYS move the unit targeted, even if they dont have LOS on the trebs... and humans just physically cant do that.
@@marcush4741 wait, why does what a computer player does relate to why a strat should be banned?
@@Jesterofthesky Im not advocating a ban on treb sniping.
Im saying that I UNDERSTAND why so many lobbies banned treb sniping for so long.
The only time it's a strat that works is if youre fighting against a human. All AI will autonatically move to avoid it.
I understand why some people would be against taking a strat that you cannot use anywhere else in the game into multiplayer.
I dont agree. Im just saying I get it.
But if its in the game, it isnt cheating, and is usable against everyone and everything? Im hard against banning it, no matter the game
I'm not even sure why people would be against it. Killing vils and denying other resources is fine and normal, so what's so bad about stealing a boar?
I never intend to steal sheep, but if I get the chance I'll passively try.
How can you passively try?
Easy enough, I'm the same. I won't go out my way to look for your sheep and try to take them outright, I'm more focussed on scouting or possible cheeky villager kills. but if I see them by chance or I notice you moving some unattended near my scout, then yes. I'll go for them.
@tomtenthij5676 if I fail, I fail. I ain't going back for it.
@@tomtenthij5676 I think the right word he is looking for is opportunism. If he happens to spot a sheep with his scout and he actively sees it, he'll go for it. Otherwise, not fussed about it.
@XbluDiamondX Thx for the reply!
24:19 the knight glitching out next to the castle made me realize i was still on 1.5x speed. It looked really weird
1k elo i would lame if i knew how to pull it off
I think Tiramus touched on this- one thing I love about T90 is the fact he knows what AOE2 at every ELO is like, not just 2k+. Hope to make it to a LEL vid one day...
Where can you even see if your game has a spectator?
wohoo a new video.
i think T90 would have fun with my games, i run under the enemy tc with my scout like 9/10 lol
IMO: I always felt the reason not to lame was because it makes your performance in the rest of the game look less important. The skill to control a game in castle and feudal is what most people value. Getting a cheap win against a good opponent because your lamed them in dark age( also a skill, but honestly, is often just down to map RNG whether it can be defended), is less satisfying than beating them when they're in their stride. I'm trying to improve as a player, not just get wins, so I don't lame, but I don't think it's immoral, disrespectful, or even that upsetting when I get lamed.
It's either respect the honor code not to lame the opponent, or give up all map RNG and generation in the interest of fairness and play on the EXACT SAME MAP LAYOUT every single game with no variation in treelines, stone or gold placement, etc.
The benefit of having variety and the opportunity to plan out strategies in changing scenarios is definitely worth the trade off of holding back from seizing every single advantage one can for themselves.
I think it is fine to lame. Granted I have gotten into the mp scene fairly recently, but I think it is a part of the strategy and it isn't like it will automatically mean you wint, it just puts pressure on your opponent and makes them strugle a bit early on. Sure if both and incredible competitive masters that could make all the difference, but then you are also more aware and prepared to deal with it.
Laming isn't an automatic win, you have to manage your build while scouting enough of your base to secure your res and get over to theirs and bring it back. And even if successful it just gives you a small advantage in feudal.
Besides, at mid Elo it's usually fairly straightforward to counter lame. Scout blocking is a surefire way to screw up your own build
The game starts at 0:00 may as well try and be agressive from the go
I would like to add that sometimes you might feel that the civ match up is really bad for you that you need to lame and i think that's the right way to look at the game. But its just my opnion
Great game by both players, was rooting for blue but when I saw red's pop lead grow off that 2 tc boom reality set in.
I'm somewhat disappointed in past me for not saying hello to future (now present) me in Twitch chat.
After long time of not playing online, I got Scout rushed by 300elo ffs... NOT on Arabia either :)
Second loss we got a Militia for scout.. and he handled it well, killed mine while I was scouting and got scouts asap lol
Was matched against someone who resigned after 2 minutes (I guess smurfs exist here too lol)
I did win against someone less than 300Elo, he made lots of Militia so he wasted lots of resources, killed em quick with upgraded infantry and took him lots of time to get his eco properly, buy then I was IV and had two castles on his ass. felt earned until I realized they were 260elo or something lol
Guess I should ALWAYS make pikemen on 300elo
Some nice work against Nili my man, can you post more of your own games.
I wall resources and then tower drop. Granted im low elo tier. But creating vills is important.
Money on the line? ANYTHING goes
Hey t90 would be cool if u cast sometimes some 1400 - 1900 elo games, we are mid elo in the end too
You are pretty high ELO, though. Being in the middle arythmetically does not mean you are in the middle of the pack. 1500 ELO is like top 10%. 950-1050 ELO is whre the 50% mark is.
@@kostadinpantev i quess your right but for me its not skill that got me to 1600 it was that i just invested alot of time. So i still feel like a mid elo player somehow but yeah your right.
Cease not creating extra villagers.
Infantry proves to be solid once again
pikes always have been. It's champ line that's more limited
Sorry the dumb (and probably repeat) question. But where does this content come from? I want to get back into this game after so many years, but do people mostly play on steam? Is there a different AoE2 server where these games are played and pulled from?
if you have DE, its in the game, the ranked ones. if you have hd, it was voobly, and in the game too
😮
You probably talked about it hundred times already, but... how to deal with early eco raids?
Scout better, wall, don't ring the town bell, don't counter things that you don't know exist, and you probably need more pikemen than what appears to be enough.
Solid advice, only other thing I'd add on is if your not already doing it, make a 2nd or 3rd woodline even. So even if your unable to defend in time. they can't stop you collecting everywhere at once.
850 elo and I'll lame if it's staring me in the face but won't go out of my way to try. I want to actually get better not get cheesy wins. Plus it means I have to scout my opponent and who has time for that.
Don't skirms counter halbs?
the eco!!!
i feel so early :)
Same
Sometimes, early is nice :)
I am a mid elo player. From time to time I have spectators. Would I ever know if u casted me, but it was not good enough for CZcams?
Codes / Unwritten rules are lamer than laming
agreed
I had to look up "laming" to see what it meant. In short, get good and defend your resources.
If AoE II wants to be competetive, there needs to be actual competition from start to finish in each match, and there is, otherwise everyone would start with a 200/200 army and each game would last two minutes. Banning "unkind" tactics means players won't get better and learn how to deal with those situations, and the game will never move on. Denying food and other resources isn't just a tactic, it should be actively promoted. You're out to win, and there's drawbacks to each strategy.
Not defending further resource points is better in the short term but risky in the longer term as you may well need to fight over resources later on. Using your scout to kill an enemy's deer means you're not using it to shove your own closer to home. Sending a couple of villagers forwards with your Scout to create early game pressure costs heavily up front and leaves you way behind if you don't make it worthwhile.
Red just learns a strat, does it 10 time and picks civs probably
Arabia sucks IMO. You should start by default with palisade walls around your base IMO.
I Do Lame
Today I wanted to start practicing for 1v1 _(campaign player here)_ and played against AI on Arabia.
Words can't express how much I hate Arabia!
Why? Because the ground was so uneven - I struggled to find a place to put my extra TC's down!
TC placement is a strategic decision. Removing options from it by making the ground be uneven is just bad map design decision in my opinion. I'd prefer if uneven ground was only made for specific map strategic purposes.
I never had much of an issue to finding spots to TC in Arabia to be fair.
Entire Western world stopped making villagers with crazy idle tc times. Some ones gotta tell 'em right?
700 elo and lame sometimes.
The mid and low elo players need a no laying code, I never lame and think its very dishonorable
I think it is part of the game, taking advantages where you can and pressuring the enemy.
we should stop people from raiding and killing vils because destroying eco early is dishonorable
Im morally against laming and i think any decent person would be too- people play the game to have FUN. And when you lame people all you are doing is ruining your opponents experience. Why would you want to do that? You can be aggressive in other ways.
How is it ruining their experience? I get lamed from time to time and it has never ruined my experience. It's not ideal but it only gives them a slight edge because they either wasted villager time or scout time doing it.
@@Alobster1 well, I know the majority of casual players get frustrated by it. You may be an exception.
@@nathanfranks1476 It's a war game, anything goes. It would be boring if I had to play the same match every time.
