Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

I see Shannon, I click
I always look forward to videos with Shannan. She’s so knowledgeable and real about the industry without the bitterness many carry after years in the game.
Much more to come!
True
Agreed! Easily one of my favorites
Me too!!!!!!!!
Yay. She is back.
She’s Back 🤩🤩🤩
More to come!

Shannan again. I love her interviews. Very intelligent woman. I'm gonna pay her to read my scripts and pay her to help me correct any written mistakes I may have.... I'm currently working on a cannabis documentary and a homeless documentary. After those, I'm gonna dig back into my feature length scripts. Much respect Film Courage for giving writers, producers, directors and actors a platform 👍🏾 👏🏾
I've seen a good number of cannabis documentaries. Would you mind sharing your angle on the subject?
@@myNarrator I would like to highlight the recent legalization of cannabis throughout many states. B-Roll some smoke shops and street smokers. Get some raw interviews from people who served time for weed etc.
@@RichRayBeatsnFilms very cool. I'd love to help you, but I'm in Canada. If you come here though, I can hook you up with a shop owner, a couple of police officers that would be happy to chat about what legalization has done here, and a fairly influential figure in the Canadian cannabis industry.
@@myNarrator those would make great interviews. I also follow Mr. Canucks Grow on CZcams. Very interesting channel.
@@myNarrator I'm wondering if I can even enter Canada 🇨🇦
I have a drug possession/distribution felony on my record from 23 years ago.
Shannan is my favorite, and her voice has asmr.
Favorite guest, hands down. 🙌
This is like the best interview I am on the edge of my seat.
I LOVE HER! Extremely articulate & knowledgeable! Thank you!
woowww she's actually very honest and great at giving insight on the film business. 10/10.
This lady is very helpful for writers... Especially with character descriptions. Meet Shannon: (first short version) "A hand-talker. Loves making important decisions about ear rings ...." I might delete the love remark. Shorter. The setting on the plane or in Sweden already does that. So I start again: Meet Shannon: "A hand-talker. Decides on ear rings". That's better. A hand-talker must be confident, even pretty. Is articulate (with the odd grammatical mistake). Like to think she knows how to tell stories, but instead, now decides on ear rings. Thank you, Shannon.
Shannon has great intellect and passion.
I always enjoy these interviews with Shannan! Inspirational, funny, knowledgeable.... and so much more!
I could listen to Shannan all day!
We look forward to sharing more from this interview Andrew! Here are our previous interviews / clips - bit.ly/32pCWAF
All day,, every day, and two times on Sunday.
She’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever listened to.
I am 5 mins in and I am blown away at how she holds herself, I could see her firing someone and them leaving happier than when they came in.
The best YT channel for learning film!! 💥👏🏾
Shannan has such an easy to listen to voice, and she explains everything so well. Loved this interview so much!
More to come!
Shannan is amazing. I have so much respect for her, her intellect, and her gift of being able to synthesize complex information and explain it on an elementary level.
Great interview. This is the bureaucracy film students don’t get exposed to until it’s too late
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR A PART III INTERVIEW WITH SHANNAN! THANK YOU FILM COURAGE! I LITERALLY LOVE YALL
Cheers!
I really enjoyed the interview-- hearing about Ms. Shannan E. Johnson's ascension within the entertainment industry as an executive and a business CEO.
I like her out put about the film business.
Very good interview
Great interview! ❤
Love this content
Great interview!!
She is on point 💯.
I did 2 episodes of Friday night lights. I thought it was set up for failure with airing on Friday night also!
Great interview!
I really would enjoy more development executives on the channel. Great insight on the current trends and behind the scenes work
I’m also FSU Alumna so it felt good to see another FSU Black Women in Film doing her thing 😊🥰✨
After a course of screenwriting and after reading, of course, all the recommended books and bibles... I watched many, many videos here, before I started writing. You're the best channel for aspiring filmmakers. SHE is Excellent explaining concepts. Is she still doing script consulting? I would pay for her to read the screenplay of my feature.
About midway through, she talked about the discouragement of waiting to be told what to do because of the slower learning curve. I tend to have that happen to me most of the time when I'm in a new situation even when I'm "prepared" somewhat. So hearing that from someone like her was reassuring.
Wonderful experience based talk with full of facts. Super Shannan
More to come!
@@filmcourage welcome with enthusiasm
I had no idea that entertainment execs micromanaged scripts line by line, let alone at the earring level!
Very interesting video. Thank you !
Great interview, it's interesting to hear the suits' side of life.
Cool Video
These Rock!
With these clips it’s best to turn off the sound and read the captions ignore the body language.
❤
Man! Easy to follow considering she is talking 100 mph.
Yay Shannon is back!
