- Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
I know that it's wrong
To be dancing with no lights on
And I know that it's wrong
To be holding you for so long
And for the rest of the night
I'll be holding you tight
So tight
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Oh, what can I do
All I need is to dance with you
And turn the lights down some more
We're the only ones left on the floor
Let the music play
I want to hold you this way
Girl, stay
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Sha-la-la-la-la
Ooooooh, holding you girl
Sha-la-la-la-la
Oh, baby, please
Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out
[Instrumental Interlude]
(A-ha)
(Blast, blast, blast)
(Lights out)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dance, dance, dance
Radio of loooove
(Oooooooh-hooooo, girl)
(In the dark)
Shine on, loooove
(Oooooooh-hooooo, girl)
(In the dark)... - Hudba
Peter wolf was a dancing fool!! Love this decade!! MTV was good to me !!
This song is weirdly impossible to find streaming or as a single in spite of it reaching #12 on the charts back in 84. It is a shame that it is so obscure - a real lost gem.
just experienced that. whos got the rights tied up?
Not on ITunes 🥲
I can't find it on Spotify, but yet I've heard this song several times on the loudspeakers at the grocery store I work at
I found the same. So disappointing!
Casey Kasum 1984 end of the year best hits. I was there. Miserably cold and working in the attic. This man. He could wake the dead ye say lad?
Just watched "The Sure Thing." Here I am. Love that movie.
I was in my early teens when this song came out. Until today, I thought it was John Cougar Mellencamp (silly me!). Now that I found this video, I know who performs it, and what it's called. Even a middle-aged man like me learns something new every day.
I just found this album on cassette, why can’t I find this album anywhere else online. This solidifies why it’s so awesome to have things that are not on our phones.
This is one of the most underrated songs ever: Not just of the 80’s, but ever.
Totally agree!😊🏆🙌
Love it. So obscure.
My Alexa doesn't even recognize it when I ask her to play it. I have it on vinyl though.
@@darrinlindsey Same with me.
Friday night videos!!! This was the schitt!!!
Big thanks to my dad, who had great taste in music, including J. Geils Band, Queen, UB40, Cream, Herb Alpert, Janis Joplin, and Chuck Berry. I'm SO lucky to have grown up with 70s and 80s music, in a household where 50s and 60s music was played too!
1984...... Another Unforgettable Year........!!!!!!!
I was twelve on those days. Not just one... TWELVE
In my opinion 1984 was by far the best year ever for music...
How the hell did we get from this sound where its so upbeat and fun to now??? What the fuck happened??? I miss this sound so much... Better times...
Almost 49 and been loving this since 13 when it came out, brings back hella good happy times and memories!!!!!!!
The Sure Thing (1985) the John Cusack movie brought me here :)
Thank you, finally the comment I was looking for 😀👍
@@angegee6886 it's so weird when you absolutely adore some song that plays for 15 seconds in a movie from 1985, and then you find there's a couple of people who've had the same experience as you
To the 11 people who disliked this, here's 2 middle fingers for ya!
Thankyou for the 2 mtddle figer comment on that song.Dsmn that song was good.Brings back memories.
Who the fuck would hate this song?! I've had it stuck in my head for decades! It's actually adorable!
You can add my 2 middle fingers too!!! Love this song!
30 now
And here's three more for YOU! this song sucks
This is a cool song.
"Sha-la-la-la-la
Ooooooh, holding you girl
Sha-la-la-la-la
Oh, baby, please"
My Favorite Phrase 💜💙💜💙
I always grew up thinking it was "flash flash flash", cause that's what my mom told me it was. But I was today years old when I found out it's "blast blast blast"
Thank you ready player two for this amazing song.
What a jump start!!!! .BLAST BLAST BLAST!!!
entered Billboard July 14, 1984 ..reached #12
.... Classic 80's Rock!!
It is a lost hit and very underrated.
Love it❤
Great song that needs to be revitalized.
Take me back to the 80's ...this was and is Classic rock and still popular. 😎
One of my favorite songs of all time!
Awesomenes 🎶💕😎😘💁💋your amazing Peter woohoo love your music God bless
Was featured in The Sure Thing .
This song always puts a huge smile on my face. What a damn fantastic and catchy song. And the video, although cheesy, was pretty awesome too.
Falling back in love with this song all over again.
I just heard this song for the first time this morning at Walmart. Where has it been all my life?
I work at Walmart, I hear it everyday, that’s why I found it too.
@@matthew1002 me too ayeee
Me too 😂😂
I remembered this song as a kid when it came out but forgot about it after Bruce's Dancing in the Dark started playing ad nauseam.
I LOVE this song! I had it in my head last night and couldn't remember the name of the artist.
Woke up singing this in my head…and out loud in the kitchen
Ready player two brought me here...

Hello from Louisiana! Curious: What station did you hear that was playing it??
La mejor canción de 1984.
This is definitely a very nostalgic song from my 8th grade years!!!! Wow, I haven't heard it since then. Maybe I gotta turn my lights out just for once. No wonder my electric bill has always been so high! *LOL*
Oooh wow, this is actually a record playing, audio of a record is unmistakable.
Un clásico que no olvido...!!!
Anorak did not find this humorous.
Song That Might Play When You Fight Anorak
Bro knows his literature. This sh*t is cannon
thanks, ready player two
My teacher uses this song to turn off the lights 😂
Whenever it says “lights out uh huh flash flash flash” *duun* someone would go to turn off one light and after the second *dunn* someone would turn off the last remaining light
Thank you for posting this. Been searching forever
Thanks for sharing! I've not heard this song in 30 years but woke up to it as an ear worm 😮😎.

I LIKE SO MUCH
Ready Player Two brought me here
If you can remember the 80's then you weren't doing the same stuff I was doing or driving with the numbers and name on the side of your stunt car with the dirty side down...garrrruuuuuuuuveeee
They play this song at Walmart while we work and i always love to hear it!
And its not on Spotify! Shame!!!!!
That's why I'm hearing at home.(utube).also try ONE LAST KISS by j geils.AWSOME.
Ready player two fans where y’all at?
2:20 when you begin to suffer the effects of symptatic overload syndrome
Over the years since its release I forgot it was Peter Wolf and thought it was J Geils lol. I mean it sorta is really but still no wonder I could not find it easy by looking at J Geils songs lol.
Good song. Too bad Peter Wolf leaving J Geils Band killed both acts.
With the geils break up...IT SHOCKED THE MUSIC WORLD AROUND THE WORLD!!!
This is at least
A song that has to be m
A hit WONDER.
It should be included.
The effort and lyrics.
Gives it that.
Peter Wolf is not a one hit wonder. He was the lead singer for the J. Geils Band who had a ton of hits.
3:02...soulful exit....
Lights out ah ha
Blast, blast, blast
Heard this song buying groceries this evening overhead. Been over 2 decades since I last heard it. What a blast.
♥️🔥🔥🔥
It may have been a solo effort by Peter Wolf, but it still feels along the lines of J. Geils, anyway.
the former lead of THE J.GEILS BAND!
kick ass
I met peter wolf 🤗
Lights Out or Radio of Love? Big fight with some of Us Sr.'s goin on here ovah it...Tku!
What guitar is being played during the verses?
I love this freaking great song, where do i go to get a digital copy please help lol!
I've been looking for this song for years and I guess Wolf didn't release it as a digital copy.
I’ve been SEARCHING & SEARCHING for digital copy for Decades. ONLY saw 1 ONCE that wasn’t a vinyl copy (as I have now) Years ago from EXTREMELY RARE Cut of Special Release Batch of VERY Limited number of CD’s.. a ONE Time thing Many Years Ago (possibly Int’l/Overseas release).
1 was being sold via Online auction.. I WANTED it DESPERATELY, but was Broke College Student at the Time. It was a Couple Hundred Dollars. If I’d known THEN that it was ONLY time I was EVER going to see one again.. I think I would have sold Plasma or something to get it!!
J Geils Band Singer!
I only know of this song from Ready Player 2, lol.

Walmart radio brought me here.
Anybody know why Pete won’t release this in I tunes?
Is there a trick to finding this on iTunes?
It’s just Not there. 😔
J Geils rocks
Power out..why not?🤷🏼♂️
Next random song on my queue is that remake of Funkytown. No, thank you sir.
I know it’s wrong to be dancing with no lights on but I do it anyway so give me a ticket or throw me in jail and I’ll still be dancing
Anybody here because of ready player two?
Yeah, this song might have been nice one or two times, but it's annoying as BALLS being constantly blasted on the radio at walmart.
Good video, you don't have to see his horrible dancing.
This is a true piece of crap.
