Best thing you can do if you’re trying to keep your costs down is find something to do to occupy your time and replace the shopping kick. Focus on working out every night, picking up a hobby, or start finding things to do that aren’t expensive. Also: minimalism is awesome if you’re struggling with buying things you don’t need. Minimalism focuses on making sure you’re mindfully buying and that what you hold onto is beneficial and useful. Lastly, smoking is terrible for you!! Cut that habit and you’ll save a cool $40-50 a week.
Tbf you should start anti aging before you're 30 to prevent damage to your skin
Hannah I'm surprised people are easily led by glossy magazines and don't realise it's been airbrushed and a way to make money. You can't reverse aging through products but can adopt lifestyle choices to avoid speeding it up. It's also ironic she smokes which causes aging yet wants to look youthful.

What Ive noticed with all the people in these shows is that they do nothing but shop. Maybe if they did some voluntary work, did an evening class, learnt a new language or a new skill. You will be too busy to spend money that you dont have or can't afford!
Classes cost money. At least here in the US but volunteering is a great idea!
@@KatieNicolexx Evening classes do not to be very expensive here and can get some classes for free if you can show that you are on a low income or on benefits.A proper evening class may cost money but in the long run may increase job prospects in the future.

I used to smoke and non-smokers don't understand how hard it is to stop. Of course it's doable, I'm proof of that, but it's probably one of the hardest things I've ever done.
Having said that, I don't know how anyone can afford to smoke these days, I was shocked to hear that it's about £15 a pack these days!

Unfortunately, all the expensive anti-aging products will never be able to keep up with the aging effects of smoking. I watched my mom who was always beautifully dressed and made up age prematurely due to her smoking. Also cut short her life Definitely due to smoking. But she was addicted. Just like a drug addiction or alcohol. Never start ladies and you will look younger than those who do. And more importantly, live longer.
The best anti ageing is don't smoke and stay out of the sun. You'll live longer too!

I need help. My spending habits are awful. Yes, I find amazing deals, but do I really "need" 40 pairs of workout leggings and 5 tanks each in every color to match?? I have a whole rack of sweaters, at LEAST 15, and I just bought another today. Don't get me started on pants 🤦🏽♀️. Work pants, distressed jeans, dark wash, high waisted, I've got them all. Too many jackets to remember. My undies drawer is stuffed. I don't know how I accumulated so many pairs of black leggings. Watching this show makes me realize I'm definitely shopping and filling my wardrobe because I'm missing something in my life or I've got unresolved issues. Time to soul searching. I'd love to see a therapist but my insurance doesn't cover mental health.

Absolutely Ridiculous There are apps where you can store photos of your whole wardrobe. You can style and create a capsule wardrobe and it really helps. If you’re in the shop you can scroll and see if you have anything similar and create the same look and it feels really good to save the money.
i stopped spending on a no shop year - i unfollowed all brands on social, got rid of the bookmarked shops on my laptop and just stopped looking in shops or online as a pleasure activity. Obvs not as good as therapy but a place to start
Like you said... Soul searching! I think we all need to do a little more of that. Think about why you might shop too much and what triggers the behavior. I've found decluttering my house and selling as much as possible on OfferUp fun and freeing! Too much stuff and clutter gave me anxiety but I was the one buying it 🤦🏻♀️
Maybe you can start with asking yourself these 3 questions before you buy something:
1. Do I already own one?
3. Is this in my budget?
3. Name 3 fun things you can do with this money 🙏

I got a $5,000 vacation for $920 by being smart with mine. Just don’t charge more than you make (and no more than what you would have just bought anyway) always use points/cash back cards, and enjoy businesses paying you to live your normal life. Or... you can totally use cash and only get what you pay for... But I prefer free money, myself. Besides, most businesses won’t give you a discount for using cash and have already built in the credit card fees, so... if you think about it... they are making extra money off of you. To each their own!
They have done studies on it and there is a sense of loss when handing over money that is not felt when you slap a card and put it back in your wallet. There is no real physical trade in our minds. Long story short: use cash whenever possible and the simple way to know whether you can afford an item is if you have the money to pay for it.
Thats what im planning to do - use cash more. Im not a spendaholic and cant buy expensive things but like her i would prefer quantity for the price rather then paying a lot of money for one thing. I wont be lots of the same things though. But for me i find it hard in big shops or food shopping as i tend to pick up more than i need or niknaks that after a while of use its pointless. I find shops very distracting and stressful. There is just TOO much stuff!!

You can definitely and should use retinol in your skincare routine at age 28! It’s preventative, and not just for 45 year olds, and they’re just eye masks. 18 year olds use eye masks 🤦🏼♀️

Of course, I totally agree- smoking accelerates ageing immensely, but retinol is an amazing antidote for ageing for even those who don’t smoke and live healthy lifestyles.

If she really can’t resist coming home with something she should hit the charity shops. She said herself she liked a bargain and doesn’t ever splash out on one big item, more like many cheaper pieces. It’s a win win situation really, especially considering most charity shops aren’t located in malls, main parts of the city, etc and more in smaller areas of town, meaning she would be out of the way of big shops that could lead to temptation haha

i love charity shops. most of my “expensive” clothes are from charity shops. I lived in Morningside, Edinburgh where many rich people nearby, so many nice things in those shops. 🤗. It is a pity i moved to germany, they don’t have many here.

The book "30 Days to Stop Being a Shopaholic" by Harper Daniels is good. It uses a mindfulness and meditation approach to get to the root. It's fun too. It's easy to overspend without the right perspective of self.
What is a psychological coach. I am a psychologist and I also have a master in life coaching. But this term is just not transparent and doesn't do our profession any good. Total of 6 years of university and studying and then going on 4 years as a specialisation in psychotherapy. I like the program and the set up but there are aome vague aspects on psychological field that should be cleared. Especially on long term.

He doesn't have a psychology degree so they cleverly avoid calling him a psychologist because he isn't one. In other episodes they said he went to therapy himself, wrote a few self help books and then decided to give therapy himself. He's highly educated (Oxford university - philosophy and physics) but never studied anything remotely related to psychology. Pretty sure this why they replaced him with Mark who is actually qualified to give people the help they need.

Not really cause that's what got her in her situation in the first place... she likes to buy a lot of cheap things, because she thinks it's okay as they are cheap. In the meanwhile, buying just a few more pricey item might help her actually break the habit

Apparently because he’s severely disabled . Perhaps having her brother being chucked away has something to do with her issues ?? I have a severely autistic son and I would never ever give him away .
I looked it up...YES it is different in England! They help you care for your disabled child...unlike the USA when you are left in the dust. They have several forms of Foster Care that are all about caring for the parent's sanity as well as the welfare of the child. There are even temporary Foster Care services (for just a couple days) so if parents need a break. GOD how great would that be for single parents here in the States that just need a break!?!? I wish our government cared that much about the parents and the kids!
