    Jordan has been so good with her form, it's cool to see her improvement over the years and seeing her do gorgeous gymnastics

    My fingers and toes are crossed for Jordan 😂 I just want her on that team. It’s such a close race, I hope no one falls and they all do their best.

      Yes, I just want them all to have good competitions. I would hate to be on the selection committe as it is very hard to pick this team. Maybe Simone, Skye, suni and then I am not really sure and even that is not set. Its an intense competition and I just want them to all do well. Rock on.

    Great video Lance! I really hope Jordan upgrades on vault like bringing an Amanar or a Cheng! I think her tumbling on floor is very underrated. Who do you think will make the WAG Paris team? I think Simone, Shilese, Skye and Suni are making the team, and there's a 5th spot on the team with Kayla DiCello, Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles in contention for that last spot. I have no idea what's going to shake out until Trials personally. It's a very competitive field. It's crazy because Jordan/Kayla/Jade will make every other team in the world, including the strongest teams of China, Italy, Brazil, etc.

      Haha. You and I are really on the same page. It’s my same top four pics and I feel the same way about that fifth spot. I’m thinking what can they do at trials that would make them or break them as it still may be at the selection committee because all of them are known gymnastically already. Maybe if somebody has an exceptional competition or if somebody has a terrible competition it might sway, the selection process. I really have no idea. I would hate to be on that committee though. What a tough choice to make. It will be exciting though. Thanks for your insightful message. All my best.

      Oh, and yes, I think should could upgrade either vault pretty easily. I am curious if she will.

    tbh i would argue bars is one of jordan's best events. she finished ahead of skye at championships and has always been a very strong bars worker with a natural swing. is she going to UB EF at the olympics (assuming she makes it to paris)? i think she could contend with simone with the 2nd US spot and qualify for the 7th or 8th spot.
    edit: ok if suni is on the team, no she probably won't be in the running unless something bad happens during qualification to suni or shi but im not putting that out in the universe!

      @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp  Před 11 dny +1

      Its a good argument. Most of what I read and her medal track record is on floor and vault but I think her bars are very solid as well. She is not really week on any event, just needs to be consistent. I really dont know how they will select the bottome two athletes for the team. I think they will consider how well that do at trials of coarse but it is hard to say at this point. Thanks and all my best. Rock on.

    Thanks for explaining fully to those of us who are not gymnasts (I was a competitive swimmer in my youth, but was useless at gymnastics, despite being only 4’11” so I was an ideal size, but sadly not flexible!)…I just love watching gymnastics, and am always in awe of gymnasts’ skills, but know very little about the types of skills and scoring/deductions etc. but thanks to your videos I am learning so much!

    I want Jordan on this team! She is so consistent and able to step in when needed. I still question Suni because of health. She hasn’t put in 4 great routines in a competition. And I pray that Shileses injury heals completely. USA needs her on the team.

    • @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp
      @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp  Před 11 dny

      I think if they all have good competitions, they all have the potential to make the team. I think it will be very difficult for the selection committee to make choices. I would love for all of them to be on the team, but I also know there are only limited spots. I just want them all to have a great competition. They all have very strong histories already and do some great gymnastics. Rock Anand thanks for the message.

    Amanars seem to have become extinct. In 2012 and 2016 they were popular. I’m guessing they were devalued and the potential deductions are greater and the thought is a clean dty will score better? Is a Cheng difficulty valued higher than an Amanar or is it done more because it’s a different family maybe?

    • @chloebrower2598
      @chloebrower2598 Před 9 dny +1

      Chengs are valued higher than Amanars and don’t have a blind landing which I think is probably why gymnasts opt to do that vault rather than the Amanar. I do miss seeing them though!

    Great video especially cuz of how slept on Jordan is to make the Olympic team imo. She’s truly so clean and consistent on every event you can put her up anywhere. I think in terms of individual medals she has a shot on floor if she can beat flavia which I think would require difficulty upgrades and minimizing execution deductions on her leap series because flavia also seems to have a chuso (don’t search Paris 2022 FX EF) and better leaps than Jordan. I don’t think Jordan will get a cheng for the Olympics because of this 7:15 right here. Maybe I’ll eat my words but it looks to me like she would have to relearn this half on block completely because, like you said, she blocks the table really high in her handstand and also puts her hand on too close down the table. If she was gonna get a rudi into that block safely it would have to look more like Simone’s where she’s blocking way up to the end of the table. If she does get this cheng tho I think it locks her over jade

    • @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp
      @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp  Před 8 dny

      Thanks for your insightful message. Yes, it would be a challenge for her to learn a chin. Also, Olympic trials are not a great place to be overly risky at as falls are big addictions among four events and can greatly affect you. Maybe if she had more time, or maybe if she’s really behind in the ranks and she can do it but inconsistently she might choose to do it, but I don’t think that will happen. She has definitely improved greatly recently and all athletes will be assumably at their best shape at trials.I could try to predict things but I would get many things wrong so I just speak about what I can see ha ha ha. It will be exciting though. Rock on and again thanks for the knowledgeable message.

    I wasn’t too impressed with Jordan at first but I feel like she has gotten better more quickly than anyone else.
    It seems like she got a lot more finesse in college.
    It’s still not all that pretty lol.
    Gymnastics has pretty much swung all the way over to the more athletic side. Figure skating followed. It’s still impressive, just not in the same way. IMO of course.
