- This classic beef recipe is so ridiculously good that making chilli con carne with minced meat will never be the same again. To create such an incredibly tender meat dish, Jamie rubs spices into a brisket of beef and cooks it slowly over 7 hours. The result is incredibly juicy meat that melts in the mouth. Served with a homemade guacamole, sour cream and warmed tortilla this dish is truly worth the wait.

Absolutely love you Mr Oliver! I work as a head waiter so never really have a lot of time to cook. I followed this recipe yesterday for myself and flatmates. I cooked it for 7 hours and I added more chilli and (don't hate me) I added baked beans at the end. It was divine! I had done it once with minced meat as I had to cook for 12 people, but I've used his recipe for the "sauce" and it was really good! This time cooking for the 2 of us, so it's in the oven. a few more hours to go! Looking forward to it

YES! Made this yesterday, added some chipotle and used Habaneros instead of normal chillies, also added kidney beans and sweet corn at the end. Almost 8 hours of cooking, amazing result!

i made it last weekend it was fantastic ! just didn't add the sour cream and the tortilla, except that everything was there and that was delicious !

This has got to be the best chilli con carne I've ever cooked ,it is fabulous.
the 6.5 hour wait was certainly worth it !! fabulous chilli beef and gorgeous guacamole ... ( i used 2 red and 2 green fresh chilli's and it was perfect ... I also added i beef stock cube ... this is so delicious it is definitely my new go to chilli recipe !! Thanks Jamie delicious !!

@@random49stuff I usually use 1,5 - 2,5kg. That's enough for 6-8 people. The leftovers are also great the next day.

Had chilli con carne for dinner tonight, lovely meal, like the idea of brisket instead of mince,one to remember for next time, bit like a pulled pork dish, nice looking homemade guacamole, have to remember that too.

Im making this tonight - just bought the ingredients - decided to go for a taco shell instead cause I love the crunch - hope it'll be good!
Making this now. Didn't have any oregano, so I compensated with a bit more paprika and cumin. Also added a bit of garlic. It already smells amazing!

Made this last night and it was incredible. I would recommend you double the fresh chilli (or perhaps more). I doubled it and it wasn't quite spicy enough, but I do quite like a kick to my food.
