      A great reporting, guys! Thank you for the insight. And to add to that, from a fan's perspective, the A's management strategy, while effective on paper, carries a certain emotional weight for those of us who follow the team closely. Watching key players develop, only to be traded away, feels like a recurring theme that's hard to get used to, no matter how many times it happens. Again great reporting..no big leaguer wants to play at AAA park during the season.

    Manfred has set baseball back more then any commissioner in history. How do you allow a billionaire owner to intentionally destroy a storied franchise like the Oakland A's? This is a huge embarrassment to the game! You think Vegas will change this? Fisher has NO intention of fielding a winning team, let alone a higher playroll team. It's almost like they just want in Vegas to use it as a tourist attraction and the heck with the poor Nevada taxpayers that will be footing the bill to support Fisher and his stadium......disgusting is an understatement!

    John fisher never wanted to be in Oakland. They bought half of the coliseum because they claimed it will certify the A’s staying in Oakland. For years they tried in San Jose, Fremont, Laney college, and towards the end Howard terminal. The city was ready to make the deal and they just backed out. Why? Because first of all, they didn’t want to stay in Oakland in the first place and secondly, they don’t have the money to build Howard terminal. Also, when Howard terminal was in the works, he wanted the infrastructure around the ball park which will be more money and the city had to cover that part of the deal. So the city got the money through grants to cover there end of the deal. In Vegas, they don’t even have infrastructure around it, other then the hotel. Fisher was fishing for a handout and he got it in Vegas and Sacramento.

    • @ronclark9724
      @ronclark9724 Před 2 měsíci

      It is up to the city to provide sufficient water and sewer mains to the Howard Terminal site that doesn't have it. While a developer will connect to a city's mains from his property, a developer does not build the city's mains under city PROPERTY for blocks, a half mile, a mile, or more. Apparently the city of Oakland does not the financial resources to upgrade city infrastructure anywhere in the city. No wonder there is NO development of low rise or high rise apartments for the homeless. No wonder why they are living in tents on city easement and sidewalks without water mains or sewers... I am surprised there isn't a dysentery outbreak in Oakland...

    Now John Fisher has an excuse to field a AAA team for the next 3-4 years. The A's payroll is $43 million TOTAL. No marquee players on the roster and their minor league system is ranked 25th out of 30 MLB teams. I'll go watch the Oakland/West Sacramento/Las Vegas AAA's when they lower ticket prices from $70 to $15 per seat. If you're going to field a AAA team, you can't charge MLB prices. If the fans in Sacramento are ok with getting ripped off, that's none of my business. But for me? No thank you. No way I'm paying $15 to see the Rivercats and then pay $70 to see the AAA's. I'm going to keep pointing this out. They won't play at the Vegas AAA ballpark because of heat? Record temp in Las Vegas at 2,000 feet elevation is 113º F in the shade at the airport. Sacramento record is 116º F in 2022, but if you don't trust modern temps like I don't the 116º broke the record set in 1925 and was 114º F before the city heat island effect was a thing. I think you all are really underestimating the investment Vivek Ranadive (owner of the Sac Kings and Rivercats) will put into that park to have it ready for MLB. John Fisher may be a cheapskate, but Vivek is definitely not - he provides the Kings with some of the best facilities and amenities in the NBA. He wants an MLB expansion team for Sac and is treating this as an audition. They may not be able to do much in terms of expanding the capacity of that park, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't already have a plan to upgrade the clubhouses, bullpens, facilities, etc in time for the start of the next season.

    It’s the sports leagues cycle…promote team equity (everyone can win the championship, then battle it out), after a time of non-desirables (small market teams) participation in the playoffs - let the super teams develop and create the Super Superstar Players until that wears out (league becomes irrelevant and boring), then start over with league equity. The A’s have been chosen to be the Washington Generals. New name Sacrament Generals (no typo). White Sox, Angels, Rockies, Marlins are Generals, too. Globetrotters need generals.
    Manfred praised Arte for not selling right after he pulled out of deals, then he proceeds to keep Ohtani with little support, not trade at the trade deadline for multiple prospects, ship off the best Angels prospects for $hit that the release 3 weeks later, that most get released before the season ends…net loss of about 10 top prospects in 4 weeks….intentionally tanking the team for years. A decade before they can compete, and probably a new stadium will be required by new ownership at the time. This way Fisher will not get any extra money from ticket sales. Also use BART to travel to the game and bring your own food and snacks. DO NOT purchase anything at the stadium. There are 4 In/out Burgers within 7 miles of the new ballpark in Sacramento. Meanwhile the only one in Oakland(it was located near the coliseum) left and it's being watched 24/7 to make sure it's not tagged by graffiti. So far so good, there is a youtube channel monitoring it. Oakland can't even keep a Target/Costco/Walmart superstore in their city how did they expect to play hard to get for Major League f'ing baseball.
    The moral of the story is Oakland is a s-hole, the Coliseum is an s-hole. There are 3K fans showing up to games in Oakland. They'll probably be around 10K in Sacramento. If you're only defense for the Coliseum being a big league stadium that players dream of having a cup of coffee there, because of the spacious locker rooms. That can be taken care of in Sac for chump change too. A's will gladly foot the bill, instead of paying 97 million in rent in the coliseum, the A's are getting free rent at his friends 'intimate' stadium in Sac town. So they'll use that extra money to improve Sutter Health Field.

      @justkeepingitreal2024 Před 2 měsíci

      Agree with all you say but it would be great if the A's built a retractable roof stadium in Sacramento. The Bay Area would likely still support them and the Oakland A's fans wouldn't get totally screwed like the Raider fans did. Have you ever spent a summer in Las Vegas? It ain't no picnic.

    • @MountainFisher

      @@justkeepingitreal2024 You spend a summer in Sac? Record temp in Las Vegas at 2,000 feet elevation is 113º F in the shade at the airport. Sacramento record is 116º F in 2022, but if you don't trust modern temps like I don't the 116º broke the record set in 1925 and was 114º F before the city heat island effect was a thing. I've been there in July and the humidity from the Delta was horrible.

      Fisher doesn't spend money. He let's prime talent go elsewhere rather than pay them. He gets revenue sharing and pockets the money instead of investing it into the team. He has a very clear and very consistent pattern of behavior. He's not going to change and start spending money in Sac.

      @EHASS43991 Would you build a stadium in OAKLAND? The City of Oakland was about to make the TAX payers pay for a $14 to $16 BILLION for a Stadium Development Deal over 45 years to John Fisher lol. Now the fake media & some player are mad at Las Vegas. Vegas is only going cost $380 million stretched over 30 years not using school funds like the lie Schools over Stadiums Propaganda is pushing. No school union Las Vegas is fighting this that's a lie. The State of Nevaca will use the taxes raised around the stadium zone to pay back the bond. John Fisher Saved Oakland from paying at least $14,000,000,000 Billion for a city that can't afford to make a Veterans Homeless Shelter, but it will give $14,000,000,000 to a cheap owner lol. America being fooled by what's going on in WOKELAND...By the Way John Fisher. Only worth about 2 Billion and Howard Terminal Cost $14 to $16 Billion, What bank in the World would finance this. NONE LOL. THE TAX PAYERS would have rewarded a CHEAP owner lol. Does that make sense.

  • @WiggleBabies
    @WiggleBabies Před 2 měsíci

    Fisher should have been forced out. He doesn't have the money and/or is unwilling to spend his $ for a new ballpark. He's running to a minor league park now too. The union is doing nothing and imo are complicit because Oakland raised a LOT of $ plus a TIF to where the city would be dishing out near $1 billion. Fisher has to go... New owners would be willing to spend 1.1bil to build a waterfront park.
