    Some service technicians left the oil canister cap overtightened, so tough work to remove it with universal pliers and damaged (scratched) the plastic. It's better if you get the 86mm 16 flute cap/socket wrench for Volvo.
    Other than that little complication, everything works like a charm.
    Thank you for putting this video together. Really appreciated

    ** Public Service Announcement ! **
    It appears that Volvo has switched their oil specification for the 2.0L 4 cylinder models. Please call your local dealers to verify. It appears that all 2.0L 4 cylinder models should now be using 0W-20 for ALL driving conditions. The 5-6 cylinder engines are to use 5W-30. Thinking the change has to do with engine wear now that they have some years of real world data.

    Thanks for uploading 👍 Seems handy enough. Having a lift really helps! Although l've always changed the oil and filters in my old car using ramps, I'm hesitant to do so with this car!

    Thx for the video. My daughter just bought one of these. The oil looked pretty rough for 5k. Have you ever thought about adding oil to the filter, in the cap, before re installing? I'd seen that done in another video, thought it was a great idea and do it now in all my oil changes.

    Hi Jesse, I have also one Volvo XC60 D4 from 2015 but we always put engine oil Castrol Edge Professional which lasts 30.000km, this is recommended by Volvo and it is also the only oil specified in the Volvo manual, why do you put a different oil who lasts only 15.000km? The small maintenance for this car is every 30.000km and not 15.000km like you mention, or even changing the engine oil every 5000km. It's ok to change it every 5000km of course but not worth the money to change it so often at a Volvo repair shop.

  • @lenniebruce

    The oil is so dirty, is that because it's a Diesel? If it was petrol I'd be concerned for my engine. Is there a lot of Diesel cars down under?

    • @gheza8752
      @gheza8752 Před rokem

      The engine must not eat oil at all, if it does then Volvo must replace it with a brand new one, under warranty.

    It wasn't real clear that you have to wait until that 3rd info light flashing to release the Ok button; if you wait until the 4th flash of the info light then you've lost the window for the reset and the service info won't be reset.

  • @PM382

    When I check the oil level it appears "low". In the manual it says not to add oil. It says to add when the message to add appears. Now I'm in doubt whether to add or not, but when I check it shows "low" but I don't have any message to add

    • @barrysiler1443
      @barrysiler1443 Před rokem

      Mine was a full quart low without any message to add or any form of "check engine light". the worst thing you can do to these engines is run them low on oil. I'd keep close tabs on the level and add when it shows any sign of being low. These engines are known for allowing oil to slip by the oil control ring on the piston.

    No dip stick for oil level check no dipstick for transmission fluid check no temperature gauge on dash board. Hey if the car blows up from lack of oil trans fluid or over heating what does Volvo care. New engine or transmission. Great for Volvo

    • @jessesshed2928
      @jessesshed2928  Před 2 lety +1

      It has electronic oil level sensors and does have a temperature gauge on the dash inbetween the speedo and fuel gauge.
