@@user-sf9lj6dy6w Truth be told, it's kind of obsolete on new cars. They get warm in like 3 minutes even in cold temps. Besides, just because your water temp is at operating temperature you still don't know if the oil - which is the temp that actually matters - is at operating temp. Besides sports cars, there's very few cars I can name that has an oil temp gauge. The golden rule of 10 minutes of careful driving should still hold true. On top of that, unless you're going for a spirited drive with a sports car or a car with a carburetor from the 70s or early 80s - you really don't need to pay attention to temps. Drive like a regular person for the first 10 min, then feel free to put the pedal to the metal. It's a Volvo, not a C63 or an M5 - relax. :)
I always fill up 5L and drive the car for a while. If it needs more oil, it will give you a message to fill .5 or 1 liter. This is to make sure you don’t over fill 😊 with 5 liters to begin with, it’s defiantly not too little.
This. Overfilling a modern diesel is arguably worse than driving with too little oil. I also fill 5L like you and then go about my day. So far it has never requested more, and it always shows that the oil is at the max end. I still keep a 1L bottle in the trunk though in case I'd someday get a message to fill up. Hasn't happened yet. My 2015 D4 doesn't leak or burn a single drop of oil. The magic of changing oil every 12000-15000KMs!
Hi Jimmy. I contacted you about this video a while ago and commented on the red oil extractor in the background. You said you would do a review on it and that the video was comming soon as i was interested in buying one. I know your a busy man but did you forget 😢.
Is the engine flush he used makes it looks watery Aswell. but he def should’ve done a double oil change. That’s why I don’t take my 18” s90 to dealers or shops I do em myself
0-20 is standard for Volvos "new" engine architecture (2014-). I'm no chemist, physicist or engineer so I don't know any details as to why they deem 0-20 to be best but I would assume having twin turbos and some engines even adding a supercharger on top of the already existing turbo(s) + meeting emissions require a thinner oil. 5-30 is pretty common, but I've never heard of a manufacturer recommending 5-40 for a car from the 00s and onwards.
Bring back the good old days of the dipstick... Not the easiest thing recording and doing an oil change and keeping the phone relatively clean👍👍

were did you get the car lift from and what weight can it take thanks
Is that a 7mm Torx for the under body aerodynamics?
The nice old operating system before they switched to Android Automotive and reduced the functions significantly
That oil was really dark. I wonder how many miles on the oil.

This Car needs only 5.2l oil 😉
I pour 5.5 liters into mine and it shows that it is half full. Car from 2014
