My coolstorybro - When i played this in the late 90s i was 7/8. I got stuck on the sunken ship riddle and me and my dad could not figure it out. Ended up going to buy a strategy guide just to get the answer "pearls". Never would have come up with that at that age. Really cool to see this game got a remake!

It took me like a week to get the super suit. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done in video games.

A wonderful remake with a great run and a fun couch! Good memories of this game from being a kid. Played it loads at my aunts house. She just passed so this hits different today. I’ll miss her.

Signs I should probably have gone to bed a while ago: I just got to the bit where he's trying to get 100 super jumps, and I went to turn the playback speed down to 1x to make the timing easier to hit.

The Final Fantasy IV reference always seemed a bit out of pocket to me but it's still a blast to witness every time. Maybe we'll get a Mario boss in a Final Fantasy game someday. Hell, maybe it already exists and I just don't know about it yet lmao
I mean, it was a Square game, so it kinda made sense. But at the same time was indeed surprising to see him show up behind a locked door like that. 😂
Weirdly enough that's happened with another final fantasy boss showing up as a secret in mario game with behemoth showing up in the Wii mario sports game as a final boss

The only two sounds I do not like when you have the Remake music on is Booster Tower, as the OG music is so much better. Then Peach's Frying Pan weapon sound effect had that satisfying clang in the OG, but that is gone in the remake.
