Thanks buddy! I am having a bunch of fun with this. Good luck with finding one for yourself, let me know if you need any help with anything along the way.
I'm up in the ND/MN border upper Midwest, bidding on some local Humvees, no armor, hardtops or duramax engines up here. I don't care, i just want one to start messing around with...so please keep that camera rolling! Boom Stahl
thanks for the video. I was wondering did forida dmv make it hard to get title and insurance? i live in kissimmmee and looking at getting one in the next few months.
oooh just remembered something: did you have to install a catalytic converter on this to pass emissions testing? Pretty sure it's not required here in australia but I wouldn't mind installing one regardless.
Cool video. This is going to sound like a stupid question, but what kind of mpg do you get? Also, Allison transmission with a Duramax? Thanks. Just started looking into these. I'm considering moving to Alaska in a few years and think one of these might be a good vehicle choice. Thoughts appreciated. No care for creature comforts, beyond a heater, here. Thanks!
I know I’m late but in case you’re still looking: I’d say 6mpg average. 6.5l Detroit diesel on military humvees with a GM 4 speed. The later civilian h1 Hummers have the duramax and Allison. I’d recommend you get a aftermarket heater if you plan on being in Alaska also you’re going to want a block heater otherwise fuel will gum up from the cold and it won’t start.
Hey do you know the best place to find Slant Back Humvees to buy? Also, how brutal is it driving a military one vs a civilian? I've had a few civilians and they're sweet. However, I want to find a military one and fix it up. I've been told though, that they're so much more rough that it's almost unbearable to drive on the streets. What do you think? Thanks of your help.
Abel Burke the slant backs are very hard to find, most people with slant backs buy the regular soft top Humvees and then they find a slant back top kit on ebay. This thing actually drives very nice, all of my friends are surprised about how nice it drives. most of the handling issues these have are due to old and unbalanced tires. If you are ever in Florida around Orlando I'll let you take it for a spin and see how you like it.
@@DakotaWoodHD Jeez hell looking back into this seeing you got the doors, AC system, and more for 3k. I can't even find the doors for less than 5k unless they are extremely beat up
yeah I can & I usually go about 65. I haven't had any problems with anything on the vehicle yet and I dont have any worries about the engine at this point.
Sweet! Thanks for posting. we have one 6 weeks into waiting on the EUC. We will use it for field work and upgrade reviews. Yours has the 4 speed transmission, right? gear-report.com/project-humvee-battlewagon-surplus-hmmwv-us-army
awesome ! Yes mine has the 4 speed. make sure you get a montana title with it if you are getting it from gov planet. the montana title doesn't say offroad use only on it and then you can just transfer it over to your state
They don't offer the Montana title any more. Just a Bill of Sale or SF97... both are marked Offroad Use Only. No worries though. I have already got plates for it. :)
Dennis John Blando I am in florida too I tried foe months with them. I ended up asking iron planet for a montana title and I took it to my dmv and had them transfer it to a florida title and that was it. The montana title doesn't say offroad use only on it.
Pretty cool I really like the Humvee a lot
haha I can tell by your name. I'll have a pretty cool Humvee off-roading vid coming out tonight
Sounds good excited to see it
Thanks for the vids! This actually looks like it drives pretty well on the street.
thanks for watching! I love driving this thing, it drives smooth and is also very easy to drive. It actually rides better than my pickup truck.
Your channel is great dude! Subbed!
Keep going! Hoping you're having fun! Can't wait to get my hands on mine!

Well hey do you sell them after you go thru them ? And if so do you have a website I can look at them on. Thanks . Great Videos too keep them rolling.
$40 video right here. I love these trucks
Also did you redo the weather stripping so the rear hatch doesn’t leak ?
Hey, first of all: really nice humvee! :) I have a question: I read that the engine of the humvee is not that reliable? Is that right?
Did the hard top come with it? Or was it something you purchased? If so do you remember where?

edbo10 I believe any diesel vehicle manufactured before 2007 does not have to have any emissions control stuff on it to pass an inspection.
Have you had any problem with engine or sth ? I'm from Poland and i think that most of parts would be unable to get in my country..

just noticed you had your mirrors setup wrong :p
For how much did you buy it please? It looks in pretty good shape.
I bought it for $10,000 from iron planet and I put 3k into it from buying the doors, ac system and some other parts

Wow gear shifting is fast
I absolutely think the same when I saw it
How long did it take for your EUC to come though from govplanet.com?
It only took me 3 weeks because the base this was on was closing. It normally takes between 6-9 weeks though.
Could I use this footage please
can you do long trip at 65 mph to 75 mph??? how fast can you go without worrying about engine blow up
yeah I can & I usually go about 65. I haven't had any problems with anything on the vehicle yet and I dont have any worries about the engine at this point.
seems quieter than 4 door m998
