The First Items in the History of World of Warcraft

- Hello guys, in today’s video, we will be looking at some of the first items in the history of World of Warcraft.
When you play the game - whether it is Classic or retail - you encounter tons of different items of different types all the time, and I thought it would be fun to try to go back to the beginning and see what the very first item was, the first epic, the first consumable, quest item etc. Not only out of curiosity, but also to get some insight into that part of the development of WoW, and see if it fits into the bigger picture of the creation of the game.
The way I have determined how “old” an item is, is by looking at its id number. Every item has an id in WoW, and the lower the id the “older” it appears to be. The method of using ids to determine the age of an item might not be 100% accurate in all cases, but it is the best method we have, and based off the research I have done and my experience it is very accurate. There is no way of getting complete clarity unless it is confirmed by Blizzard, so just keep in mind that my use of the word “first” is based on the id number.
For the video, I have gone through a list of approximately the first 3000 obtainable items with the lowest ids in Vanilla WoW, and I have picked out the most interesting that fit the criteria of being first in some way.
I hope you will enjoy the video.

It's like Arnold Schwarzenegger is narrating this video :D
keep the content like this coming! Love how you go into the items with data mining etc, hope all is well much love as always! 🧡
Thank you very much mate. It's a bit of a gray zone with the data mining and id stuff for me - I don't want the videos to feel too far removed from the actual game by bringing up a lot of numbers that you can't really relate to. But sometimes it might be necessary, and I'm very happy you liked the video and also that part of it. Thanks for the support mate and stay strong :)
1:50 schwarzenegger took the microfon for a while.
I like your ideas for content but I love the fact you make it in English. There's ppl out there that won't make content because they feel embarrassed about their accent. For what it's worth I think it's impressive and although you have an accent , you have a great grasp of the language and speak well enough to be understood clearly.
Thx Mo, your content is appreciated.
Thanks a lot man. I'm very grateful for your supportive comment. My goal is just to bring entertainment to you guys, and thankfully most people seem to enjoy the videos. That's what matters.
Noobs going to Google to find something Wow related, me an intellectual going to
Moegdal's WoW Videos
impressive my man, especially considering the hours of research you obviously had to put in. Great video!
Thank you man. I'm happy it paid off and that you enjoyed the video :)
This was extremely easy to follow, great concept for a video I loved every second of it, Moegdal. Good job yet again!
I'm very happy to hear that you liked the video so much :) It's truly a great compliment that I appreciate a lot.
Hunters were the last class added in beta, mostly because of the complexity of the class and all the systems they have baked in due to the pet management, so that may explain why the range weapons like guns and bows were added near the end.
it is also the reason why the hunter class is so clumsy, has the most unnecessary and detrimental weakness of any class, under-powered abilities such as aimed shot or flare, lack of abilities any hunter should have like camouflage or cure poison/disease, or a passive/increased ability to see stealth, like how rogues can passively see hunter traps.
I didn't actually know that, but it explains a lot. I'm still slightly surprised though - I would have expected the hunter to be prioritized more for some reason.
Your videos are super comfy to watch and nicely edited, i always put them on before bedtime and end up binge watching a bunch of them xD
That's awesome to hear :-) Thank you!
Interesting video man, never thought about it from that perspective before
I'm happy you feel that way man. Hope all the numbers and id talk didn't take away from the experience :)
Fantastic! Off to watch it again.
Great mate! It's really nice to hear that the video has replay value to you :)
Amazing video. Keep up the awesome work. Really appreciated you reading into all that information!!
Thank you very much mate. I'm glad that you appreciate the work, but more importantly that you enjoyed the video :)
I remember the yeti quest by the dwarf mount location in vanilla and being soo nervous to fight it on my rogue back in vanilla.. The intro reminded me of that.
Those were the days man! The idea for both the thumbnail and the little clip in the beginning actually comes from the old physical game copy of Vanilla where there's a similar cover art picture.
Gratz on 5k! :)
Thanks a lot my friend :) Looking forward to more adventures later down the line!
Love the videos man! Keeping the content fresh!!!
That's great to hear! Thanks a lot man :)
excellent video as usualy :)
Awesome to hear. Thanks a lot man.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 ofc you deserve it :)
Video idea: Combinable items, for example the 2 swords from ZF, or the 2 sword parts from world drops, which you have to combin by blacksmithing. not sure how many items like these exist in game.
great video!
Thanks for the suggestion. I might look into it- I haven't thought about doing something like that before :)
Theres like 4 of em, none are very good just have interesting procs, subject covered new idea pls
7:32 He doesn't talk like that necessarily because STV hadn't been named yet. The Sweet Amber line involves quest instructions given as poetic verse. Notice "creep" and "deep" , "daughter" and "water".
Yeah, I would guess that Stranglethorn had probably been given its name at that point, but I doubt that much work if any had begun on actually fleshing out the zone. Maybe they had a concept sketch as well - I think that's likely - but I still like the idea/theory that the zone as we know it hadn't been made yet.
Just a theory but i think the bootflask is a nod to the brewmaster in Wc3 the animation is uncanny, and a easter egg so to speak early on in the human experience like with the campaign? Thanks for this video dooud :)
I didn't think about that at all, but I like the theory. I think you are right that there could be a connection - nice observation! :)
Zul Fawak 😂 man i love your accent
Great video!
Thanks a lot mate :) Very happy you enjoyed the video.
You are so Danish, it's physically turning the air around me into guf
I didn't know "guf" was especially Danish :D
I love Arnold's Wow youtube Channel!
Thanks man! :)
Jaaa I'm here to pump you up
I've been wondering where have you been. I'm glad you are okay, keep it up!
I've begun a new step in my education, so I have a little less time unfortunately. Thanks for your support mate, and I'll definitely try to keep it up!
Why is Arnold telling me about WoW facts?
Hahahahah exactly :D Thing accent but he's fine :) Ok actually like him :)
While not great, it is thematically appropriate for the Horde to be kind of neglected in favor of the Alliance and the Eastern Kingdoms. It also kind of emphasizes the Night Elves as being a black sheep, and even kind of leaves a seed of jealousy against the Alliance - and to a lesser extent, the undead - in the hearts of Kalimdor starters that just won’t go away.
The Night Elves could be viewed as a bit of a black sheep - I think you bring up an interesting point.
Who remembers the blues from looting chests? i got a combat claymore from the charred vale a blue 1h mace from the satyers in ashenvale a blue 2h axe from bootybay bucaneer chest and 1 from a chest from the ogers in tanaris. they ruined the game when deathwing made a mess of old good times for that part.
Getting a blue from a chest is awesome - it feels more like a treasure in a way.
DAT WASCAWWY WABBIT!
Goosebumps
Sadly, the boot flask is no longer available. I wish it was a toy.
That's a shame :( It's a really cool item with a lot of history.
You should do this with spells classes and races maybe??
I have considered doing something like that. I'll probably look into it at some point.
Moegdal's WoW Videos either way you make very interesting content keep doin what you doin!
@@darinhowell9789 Thanks a lot :)
