- We’ve managed huge project, replacing our fancy saildrive from ZF. It is part of famous Beneteau Dock&Go System. So we decide to replace ZF SPP SB 54 with Mechanical Saildrive SD60 due to difficulties in service during our trip. 2 months on dry dock and huge list of tasks. So let’s see how much does it cost and see all the processes in details

Excus me, I am honored to see your video. Beneteau and ZF Asia's after-sales service are very poor, charging $3000 just to read the gearbox fault code, so I decided to switch to SD60. I have some questions about the modification of the engine mounts. Based on the comparison between the drawings of YANMAR4JH4TCE+SD60 and 4JH4TCE+ZF Friedrichshafen AG ZFSD12, the engine mounts should be lowered by 97MM and moved back by 20MM. Why are your engine mounts moved back by 100MM? I look forward to your reply and will start the retrofit on May 12.
well-done! excellent project! I have a Beneteau with the Dock-n-Go system and cannot get clutch parts from ZF, so am looking at the change to SD-60. Is the hole in the hull the same between the two saildrives?
Yes, it is big advantage in this project. The bolt holes are the same, you need to buy motor mount
Hello, I have just completed replacing my SD60. My ZF gearbox has only been used for 300 hours and, except for the computer board, all mechanical parts are in good condition. Do you need them?

Hi there. I have also a similar issue with the SPP on a 4JH80 Yanmar. Question for you: how did you address the reverse mode... as the SPP reverses by rotating the whole,sail drive..? And the controller which is electronic?
There is no way to make reverse mode manually. You have only one option to engage gear forward but after this you have to recalibrate the system (ZF told me, have no idea what does it mean). But reverse is only with SD rotation, so you have to have all the system operates normally.
I am having the same issues with my Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 469 with the 360 docking in Asia. My boat has been stuck in the slip for almost 2 months now while waiting for a new electronic throttle and now that I have received the new throttle, the ZF tech stated that my 360 joystick is unable to receive signal or even power. They are saying that I may have to wait six months for the new part. I am at my wit's end with this whole debacle. It basically spending a lot of money and waiting to find out that I need to spend more money for the next part while wasting more time...If you have any spare parts that you would like to get rid of please let me know.
Service of zf are crazy bad. Just zero service. Great system when works...

DID YOU CHANGE THE SAILDRIVE SB54 TO SD60 BECAUSE THE SD60 BETTER THAN SB54 OR THE SB54 IS NOT IN STOCK ANYMORE?
when your boat was ordered from Beneteau manufacturer, the SAILDRIVE SB54 was an optional or standard ?

SPP SB54 is rotating saildrive which was the option when I bought the boat in 2013. I have video at this channel how Dock and Go system works, cool system, reaaly cool. But unfortunately we couldnot service it for a long time because it is electronic fully and need to have special computer and special software and engeneers for it. In panama it is not exist at all like almost everywhere in a world. That was the reason why we decided to replace it with SD60. I could order boat with SD60 from a beginning. So my summary is if you sail somewhere in europe or US home land only it is realy worth it, If sail like we are too much risks

Hi there! I've just completed the same refit BUT for some reason when i activate my engine control panel (when i switch the engine on) my autopilot (AC42) stops working.
I -think- some of the old Dock n Go wiring/canbus might be causing a problem. Any idea?
My opinion. Absolutely no relations bw harness of motor and dock and go. only actuator. Dock and go and autopilot just disconnect it from nmea

I also thought it should be something like gear oil but not, regulat motor oil. Marked on sticker at sd
My apologies, just checked SD 60 UM :). 15w40. Was mistaken my SD50 needs 80w90. tried to be smart 😂

масляный фильтр затягивается руками, ключ используется только для отворачивания.
Вероятно да, но от вибрации он может раскрутиться, поэтому я подтягиваю ключом, иначе потом смотришь и под фильтром струйка
@@CaptainGermanExploring по опыту прикипает так, что потом как раз или ключом или пробиваешь отверткой. Просто ключом можно замять и повредить перепускной клапан, видел разных "талантов" :)
Ну я стараюсь в целом аккуратно, я знаю что рукой достаточно но я не перетягиваю, как рукой обжал где то четверть оборота. Потом да, открутить сложно

Intend to remove the system and replace it with an SD60. Could you be specific about what modifications needed to be made? Any electrical modifications? I saw that the engine mounts needed to be modified, but did the SD60 bolt into the same location that the ZF transmission did? Many thanks.
Sd60 and sppsb has the same sd membrane mounts. You need new motor mounts because the motor will have different location

Unfortunately no other options. It is really complex system with no interchangeable parts. Only mechanical saildrive or original parts

2. Как от рычага идёт управление на сэилдрайв? Тросиками или электрическими проводами?
3. Правильно ли я понимаю, что сейчас, что сейчас яхта лишилась задней подрульки?
4. Когда уже продлжите путешевствие?
Пока война мы будем стоять на месте, потом будем плаано думать. По вопросам: рычаг отдельно фирма ultraflex 450 usd, далее два тросика, один на сейлдрайв, второй на газ на мотор. И да все верно, поворотного сейлдрайва юольше у нас нет
