It stems from the story about a gig she did earlier in her career where the host was sloshed and mispronounced the names of the queens performing, so they announced Trixie as Tracy Martel. Katya also likes to switch up the variations of Trixie's name from time to time in her podcast.

I don't know how you've managed to AVOID it -- I think fewer times she's been referred to by Trixie Mattel, apart for her addressing herself on the show and in IG Stories promoting her tour. She's told the story many times, it's one of those "lore" things passed around, like the story of how she chose her drag name, and it's blossomed into other joke names with the initials T.M. like Tallulah Maraschino and Tobey Maguire. Sometimes when she tells stories on UNHhhh, you'll notice she refers to herself as Tracy when she's impersonating someone talking to her. Maybe it's more subtle than I thought!

Haha, as a tomboy-ish bi girl in the 90s, I felt exactly the opposite! The toys "for boys" were sooo cool. I always wanted that spy gear stuff, or a radio controlled car. I never got those but generally I got pretty gender neutral toys, my parents were progressive and didn't think girls just want dolls or something.
