- I traded my Can-Am Outlander XMR 850 in for a 2022 Polaris Sportsman 850!! It was time to get on a new machine and I've always loved how the new body style Sportsmans look, and also not many CZcamsrs have one so I felt this was the machine to test next! This made me happy to see. Just bought the 850 ultimate trail and I'm loving it. Went from kingquad to polaris. Tossed around canam and polaris for several months and made the decision at dealership after setting on each.

I did the same exact thing. Everywhere u see it’s all can am and well I didn’t want that I wanted something diffrent so I got me a scrambler 850 and I’m running 32” jugs I can send it it’s been everywhere and I haven’t broken anything even with the heavy tires and no I do not baby it.

I love my Sportsman 850 and it’s been a great machine for nearly five years and 4000 miles now. If you take care of it you’ll love it!

Polaris sportsman's are trash nothing but problems they got called back about a year ago. My father and my buddy brand new Polaris sportsman's gone to waste ebrakes and constant setting adjustments, Can Am outlanders and Renegades are the way to go.

The HL is a great Mudder, but if you trail ride rocks or fire roads with washboarding it's brutal on the arms. Probably the best factory snorkel setup but they've increased the price in Canada by almost $2k with no changes. But they have either dropped it for 2023, or maybe they are updating it because it's the only model missing in the website for the 2023 lineup.
The 850 base was a good pick.

I've already started with the upgrades on my 22 850. Dynojet pv3, HMF titan qs, hand guards, ceeco front diff pinion plate, ceeco rear diff frame support.

The “clanking” is the clutches. All Polaris clutches are on the noisy side.

@@arrowboss6114 the clicking when you turn the key off is the fuel pump, yes. The chatter he was referring to in a different part of the video was coming from the belt housing and it’s coming from the primary clutch.

People say Polaris's are costly. My 21 850 touring has had no issues other than the starter died, and so did my 20 850 HL's. Both replaced for free even though the HL was out of warranty. Both were replaced with a different model starter. No issues since.
I think you made a good choice. The Sportsman is a great plush ride, the 850 has tons of smooth power, and the AWD is fantastic. The only downfall is it won't engage until the RPM's are below 3k I think. So if you blasting at 40-60 and turn it on, you need to slow down to have it enable. But you can leave it in if you want. It only engages if rear slip is detected.

I'm glad you got a polaris there my favorite. But if you adjusted your handle bars forward a little I think it would help with the throttle. I have a older polaris so idk about the head light and wiring stuff.

I’m happy with my 2017 Polaris sportsman !! I mostly just trail ride now, but it’s been great , almost 10000kms on it that clutch noise might be your one way bearing !! I would take it back to your dealership and have them look at it

Mines a 2020 sportman 850 its been too much fun perfect for me , lastnight was my first time blowing my belt and i was a journey from home so that sucked i still love it 😆 buddy came in clutch n helped me home, the sound ya hear is normal mine sounds the same but it will get better as you ride it, same with my seat was happening its jus cause its brand new it gets easier taken on and off
Sportsman's not a bad machine I enjoyed it. Just bought a 2022 cfmoto cforce 800xc can't beat the options for the price. Biggest thing you'll hate on The sportsman is belt location. Can't wait to watch the build tho! Nice to see something other then a can am on the big channels!

Ive had my Polaris sportsman 450 h.o for 2 years now and put it through a absolutely hell and back and I’ve never broke anything but one axle I’ve had it in holes and it’s cut off once fully underwater and it still runs strong never had a issue with it.

I have a slightly older 2013 sportsman with a cbr 600 motor swap, 120hp still 4x4 and she flies through trails.

A lot of tha native people here in scandinavia rides Polaris. The Sami people, who has reindeers, prefer this brand before Can-am. Several of them has told me. I only have Can-Am, just an Outlander 1000, but wondering if I should look at the Polaris for the next one. I hav not seen any of your videos before, saw this now, and realy liked it. Great job. :)

Never owned one, I know they were terrible when they came out years ago, they’ve gotten better but man I’ve got five Hondas my oldest is a 2001 Rubicon and I’ve put one battery in that thing with scheduled maintenance and it’s still hell and never had issues with the others, but lol that’s just me I honestly didn’t like how Polaris rode but we’re entitled to opinions love ya brother thanks so much brother we love ya
Man I miss my Rubicon I loved that bike. But I traded it for a kx250 in a box lol an then I honestly don't remember what I didn't with the kx.

I’ve had a sportsman 570 for 7 years and 4000 miles of hard plowing and riding. Never had any issue except just regular bushings two years ago.

People can talk crap about polaris but my 2014 polaris sportsman 400ho has been sunk and it fired right up and drove it home. Done an oil change and it's been fine. Also overheated cause of mud and blew the oil everywhere when I took the cap off to check the oil Still ran fine.. I have close to 4k miles. on it. Surprisingly stock axles and everything. Stock belt too. I beat the dog crap out of it. Put it through deep mud and water. It's been reliable despite what it's been through
Congrats on the new bike! Just keep an eye on that sway bar in the back ,It will will bang on the shocks if you hit a big pot hole(personal Experience). But they probably fixed that with the newer ones. I also know that feeling "ITS NEW AND MUST BE CLEAN!!!!!!" I can relate so hard with that! Hope you have fun with it!

still a problem even on 2023s. you can find collars online that keep the sway bar centered. besides new plastics and a few little updates its basically the same bike since 2009
@@123devinzz1 I figured but I was trying to give Polaris the benefit of the doubt lol. Ill stick to Can-am. The sway bar issue is the main reason I swapped.

Hey JP I got a question for you man if you have time I got a 2022 outlander 850 and it’s literally like 4 months old and the other day I was riding it full speed down the highway and it overheated on me, this is the nicest thing I’ve ever owned and allot of people has told me my radiator is dirty but I took it all the way off the front and took it off and cleaned it and changed the coolant and it’s still getting hot, idk if it’s the water pump or the thermostat? Have you ever had that happen and what would you recommend me to do? Thanks in advance man been here on the channel for awhile now you do a great job and I like the Polaris also!
And also the fan is coming on bc I can put my hand over the rad and it’s pulling air good through it

I got a 19 850 sp and my only complaint is the power steering at high speeds is a little to sensitive. I got warrior riser snorkels, a 2 inch lift, itp wheels, 29.5 outlaw 2s, wench, and front and rear bumpers. I’ve only locked it in 4wd 1 time to pull somebody out and I’ve got it pretty deep in the month or so I’ve owned it.
The rear sway bar was already removed and it articulates a lot better but u can definitely tell it not there
The GSE exhaust is a good cheap exhaust. I’ve got it on my 20’ highlifter and it has a good deep sound to it

Polaris sportsman’s are the best I have a 570 with over 10,000 miles on it I have another 850 which is over 3000 both run fantastic regular maintenance

I've owned 3 without PS and 2 with. I could care less if mine have it. Even the HL with the Outlaws was a non issue.
Give it a few days and your arm muscles will be used to the little extra. I haven't had a Polaris without PS, but Dirt Trax had said if there was a brand that didn't need it, it's Polaris.

Got my Ultimate trail edition 850 back in December and now has a 2" lift and 30x9x14 terache aztex with tusk beadlocks running 3 psi and RVS stage 2 clutch spring and shim kit and GSE exhaust and wider fender flares and removed rear swaybar, it rides even better but can't drift it anymore 👎. Next on the list is a tuner and RJWC exhaust and garage products bushings. I have 370 miles now and the rear bushings are sloppy and the steering bushings have tried being creaky. The engine braking is insane so my brakes are still like new and yes mine makes clanking clacking noises when letting off the gas and getting back on it but the clutch kit helped somewhat. Also want a STM billet secondary clutch, I want that snappiness instead of lazy laid back engagement.

@@jpstephensyt it's alright, I'm still factory as far as intakes for everything so I'm good till about 5 inches above the 30's then if you let off the throttle it'll go into the belt exhaust but stay in it and you'll be aight 😆. I have videos on my CZcams channel of Alabama riding parks we hit.
