I love this shit and wish I could go back to the 90s...... back to my childhood..... back to a time when my favorite team played on TBS, back to when life was better.
And I was 10! The best part was coming home from school and pitching into my net in the backyard emulating Maddux and Smoltz having no idea they would be in the hall of fame
it's nice to have videos like this to remember the good ole days, not that the braves of today aren't good lol... but being able to watch my boys play nightly on tbs was a thing of beauty. also it's weird to know that the Phillies battery of west and daulton both passed away to the same disease
It’s interesting to hear the Phillies were leading the division by 4 games at this time. The Braves would win the final 3 games of this series to pull within 1 and then sweep 3 from Dodgers while the Phillies went into a tale spin. During the 19 game stretch this game was played during, the Braves went from 5 games back to 5 games up
1:34:42 - The joke that Skip Carey says as it relates to the Braves marathon 15+ inning game on July 4, 1985, (Rick Camp hits THE homer) and the game running so late is so damned funny.
Today is Greg Maddux's birthday. Happy birthday to one of my favorite pitchers. It is wonderful to see this gem he pitched. Of course he really was almost unbeatable in 1994-95 and no wonder he won the Cy Young those 2 years and 4 years in a row.
@ nintendonerdsvideos - and rip David West, who passed away back in May of this year (2022), Darren Daulton who passed away back in 2017 and Phillies manager Jim Fregosi who passed away back in 2014.
You will not find commercials on games uploaded to this channel save for very rare exceptions. We HATE commercials. HATE. THEM. However, good news. There are plenty of other channels which do include commercials in the games they upload. Look under the About tab on the home page here where you'll find a number of links to those.
@@ThisIsWhereYouFindBaseball Understood. More baseball, less 'context' is almost certainly best for most viewers and certainly for viewership. Anyway I appreciate being able to re-visit these games, very much! Thank you.

The classic Skip Caray call of Greg Maddux that TBS dubbed in the 1996 intro of: "He is the best folks. He is the best!" after recording the final out
I'd kill to be 10 years old again watching
this game live
I actually remember watching this game in 95 at 12 years old

I REMEMBER THIS FROM WHEN I WAS A KID GREAT BASEBALL GAME
02:11:25 ….This call sums up Maddux’s dominance in the 90’s
I miss these kinds of broadcasts, the outro music combined with highlights from the game.
Ahh I see you take requests for Maddux games. So let me give it a shot too! Any more Candiotti games? Thanks a bunch.
I'll see what I can do.
Id kill to be 10 years old again watching this game live
Man, 3 automatic outs at the top of the lineup. This lineup would never happen in 2024.
