I was at this game. Cubs fan but Maddux was and still is my all time favorite player. Watched his entire career beginning with his call up in 86. No one would have ever thought that skinny little kid would eventually become one of the game's greatest pitchers. Just a master artist with a baseball.
I was 8 years old. I loved Chipper so much growing up. I still do! Don Sutton's and Skip Caray's voices were the sounds of my childhood! Miss those guys.

I had the privilege to watch Maddux pitch in person once in June 2002 vs the twins he gave up 5 runs in the first couple innings but settled in, I'm glad I got to see him pitch for Atlanta all them years
Not only do i miss the announcers, I also miss how these broadcasts flow right into the first pitch. No hype, no commercials, no frill, just announce the lineups and away we go.

Don and Skip both gone now. So are Ernie Johnson and The Professor Pete Van Wieren. They were so much better than the current announcers.
I was actually at this game. I was amazed that Maddux even gave up a run when he hung one to Hernandez.
Todd Zeile was so good he played LF and 3B for the Cubs. LOL!
