I'm in a wheelchair and it's easier for me to control SBRs, a full sized rifle means nothing if you can't move comfortably and hit your target.
Repeal the NFA, and other infringement. Everyone should be able to carry military grade PDW.

When idiots keep saying that "we shouldn't have Weapons of war on our streets", THATS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT! My girlfriend hates it. I will be obsessed with one thing for a few months and then switch to another hobby and completely ignore whatever I was doing before… I always cycle between the same few things. Cars, guns, or computers.
I feel ya. I cycled to bikes this summer. I also got super busy with my work relocating at the same time. There was a definite void in my content over that period. Trying to avoid that happening again though

We always love seeing the collection you carry. If it wasn't for the fact that SBR's end up on the restricted list here in Canada😒 we feel more people in the community would have them in their collection. But great job on todays video. Another banger for sure. 👊

Yes. Everyone needs to taste that sauce once in awhile. Also it reinforces why sbr’s are the way.
Good luck going thru doors with a full length, and good luck hitting anything beyond 400 meters with an SBR, without one there isn't the other.
@@balkancommenterwithseveree7552 Yes, that’s why SBR’s are useful 👍 I meant that it’s still nice to have a full length in the collection just because. And you also get to send 556 at it’s intended ~3200 fps velocity and reach out further if you wanted to in open areas. Less than ideal guns for close quarters and CQB stuff for sure. That’s where SBR’s shine.

When you look at the actual tables it's surprising how little velocity you lose by the inch.
unless it's 300aac in 100 meters or less then 10.5, if had to.... but 12.5 the velocity jump up not too much less than a 16"

Overall great video. I think fort Scott munitions addressed the issue of velocity loss with short barreled 556. They partnered with maxim defense and created a round that is designed to tumble even at low velocities which they made specifically for short barrels.
I need both versions!
my 5 favourite SBRs (under 16 inch barrel)
1. HK G36c or G36k
2. Sig 553LB or 553 or 553 Blk
3. B&T APC223 or 300 Blk
4. CZ Bren 2 11"
5. Beretta ARX160 12"
For those that don't want to go the tax stamp route a 13.7 or 13.9 pin and weld with a true pinned gas block is a great compromise. I still have one 16" rifle but after experiencing a 13.7" I'm never going larger than that unless it's a rifle specifically for engagements past 600

Yes, and that’ll be in next week’s video on their downsides. One thing to consider, ‘pistol’ braces tend to add an artificial bump of 100 bucks to most rifles, so you’ve already paid half the tax to avoid it. Though I know in many states, and crossing state lines, there are added complications with sbr’s vs pistols or rifles. That would be my only real hesitation. The tax and the wait time are a one off deal. Then you have your lower and you’re good to go
I have a question. How are you able to acquire these guns in Canada when other people cannot? Are laws the same in every province of Canada?

An undisclosed issue with SBRs for average people is they are meant for CQB . If your not highly trained and your in a CQB situation your probably gonna die . So own them for fun but when SHTF your gonna want too be fighting like infantry at distance not kicking doors
I’d say you can still easily take some SBRs out to 300m which is probably the max MOST people would ever shoot at anyway
I would assume 14.5” for 556 would be the most efficient and once you add a suppressor it’s basically a 16”

Oh the mk12 and other SPR’s definitely have a place in my heart. Will likely do a mk12 clone with Type A eventually and TriArc has a pretty beautiful SPR they just dropped. I have a feeling with the pistol brace bs about to drop that 2023 will be year of the SPR (and 13.7)

In germany, it's quite different... SBRs (some different definitions) are not allowed for sport shooting, but no problem for hunters to buy/own and carry (only on the hunt though)
I don't know what the governments are afraid of exactly in this case. Are 16" AR15 less dangerous than 12" ones? It feels like they are afraid we only want these guns to conceal and wrack havoc with them :/ kinda sad

Some of us refuse to participate with the NFA and are waiting for it to be repealed. I don't believe in paying a tax and illegally registering a gun violating the Firearm Owner Protection Act just to exercise a constitutional right that SHALL NOT be Infringed.

11.5 is as short as I would go with 223 and 308..a 14 inch 308 gets around 2200 ft lbs and get u out to 7/800 yards easy

Id say SBRs are only superior to big boys if your talking about 300blk or 8.6blk. Both could take small/mid size game or 2 leggers comfortably at 300yrds quietly/quieter with a suppressor with or w/o supersonics and still be shorter than standard rifles or ARs

Short barreled 556 imo anything shorter then a 14.5 I can’t do it, balistics are just not worth it, short barrel 300BLK or 13in 7.62x51 is sick tho
13.7/9 is basically the same as 14.5. 12.5 isn’t much further. I agree other calibers perform much better. But for a firearm that’s going to be used inside 50-250m why do you need so much from it? My philosophy is your primary should be matched for 90% of use cases you expect to encounter.
