Kenmaru Suedomi, founder of Waseda AI Lab and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, recently visited China as part of the 2024 Future Close-Up program, a high-level youth exchange initiative hosted by the China International Communications Group Center for the Americas, the Hong Kong Federation of Liaoning Associations and Tencent.
Suedomi spoke with CGTN's Enoch Wong in Beijing and shared his insights from a recent visit to the "city of the future," Xiong'an New Area in north China's Hebei Province. Until now, China and Chinese are grateful for the support of Japanese industrialists and companies like Sony and Matsushita. This is well documented in China and interviews with Deng and other officials.

China is wise and Xi shows his maturity and wisdom in trying to heal the old wounds and allow a more natural growth of friendship to occur in the future between Japan and China. They may be different but they have a lot to offer each other and they are far more similar than either is to the West. Japan now is starting to realise that China is a far better model than the West ever was, they already know how the Western model failed them, its a good time for those wounds to heal.
