Any pros/cons of going with the rsx shifter over the no cut shifter that you guys also offer?
Also, you mentioned that the one cable was too short; was that just a defect or did it have something to do with the shifter/cable routing method, or something else? Just looking to clarify for my own personal knowledge.
jessec817 1) the RSX shifter is smoother and offers more adjustments compared to the k-swap shifter. Since they have different design constraints they do feel different. K-swap shifters allow you to run the stock console and keep the cables outside of the cabin if you are running a heater. The RSX shifter is more for race or track cars since the cables exit the cabin through the heater hole in the firewall.
2) We were just testing a “short” version of our RSX cables. It’s not a defect, we just wanted to see if the shorter cables fit better. They ended up being too short so we just use a standard set of our RSX cables and they worked perfect.
Hybrid Racing thank you for the prompt and thorough response. I was curious since I have the newest version of the no cut shifter and - as you mentioned - the no cut shifter is not as smooth or adjustable as the rsx shifter, though my comparison would be to an 8th gen civic that I have access to which has the HR shifter installed and has a much longer throw.
Thank you as well for clarifying the question regarding the short shifter cables.
jessec817 yea, the K-Swap shifter is naturally a bit stiffer and very short. Most of the mechanism is scaled to fit through the hole in the floor so the action isn’t the same. The RSX shifter has more area to move and thus can use our new internal spring design. They’re both great and accomplish the same goal but in their own way.
Hybrid Racing definitely makes sense. Thank you very much again for the replies, makes me feel much better about how my shifter feels. Also, great job on the video!
I got my v3 shifter for my k20a2 DC2. It feels amazing! Once I finish up more stuff on the car. I will upload and make some cinematic shots!
Just putting together my eg hatch.
Definitely going with this shifter. 🔥
Great video, really enjoyed it. I love your products. Cant wait to get more on them on my CRZ here in the UK
Informational but not force feeding the info. Really enjoyable video. Keep it up boys!
Very clean
Great stuff
Love all of your products man 🤘😁👍 hybrid racing for the win I'm actually just starting a k24 eg build from the ground up
Nice! Be sure to send us some pics when it’s done! 💪🏼
You guys should check out my friend Cesar’s K20R build 😤
We need an update video!!❤
BRB.
Hi do you have a vid of one installed in a kswapped ek? I just wanna figure out gow much of the console is cut
I just purchased the RSX v3 Shifter + Cable combo kit. Does it come with the mounting plate?
No, it does not. The mounting plate is sold separately, item HYB-SMP-01-05.
I would like to install something similar but I have the K20z3 transmission. What hybrid racing shifter can I use that is not the no cut one since I like this style better.
You will be able to use our TSX shifter and mounting plate with a special set of shifter cables that we will release soon. That's the best option.
Were is this shopp to take my eg to do a swap
Do you guys know the color paint code from the engine bay?
Ford Lithium Gray, code "TB"
Would this work for ek k swap chassis?
Yes, same parts apply to the EK Civic. We have a kit for that on our website.
I've got a Hybrid Racing throttle body you could fit on this.
LOUIS LABRIE we have a new old stock one going on it! 😉
@@hybridracing do you have any in 72mm
LOUIS LABRIE no sorry, it’s a 70MM one of our guys kept but never used.
@@hybridracing if you know anyone with a 72mm please let me know. Cheers
@@hybridracing also, do you sell the new heat sleeve separately? I'm finally getting around to installing mine.
Videos with people wearing masks look so odd now
