Do you wear contact lenses for astigmatism? What’s your favorite brand? Share your feedback in the comments below!
Really helpful, since my astigmatism has gone up a little and I'm considering contacts, even though I have glasses. Thanks for the information and easier for me to consider about with my eye doctor! 👍👏😀
XxViolentYoshixX2 no problem at all. Good luck with contacts! :)
I just recently started wearing contacts for the first time. I have a severe, SEVERE astigmatism in both eyes.. I was told years ago that they don’t make contacts for people with astigmatism and so I’d never be able to have them. I’m super stoked about them! I was hard to fit though. They had to order a special brand that my eye doctor’s office doesn’t even carry because none of the other brands they carried made them strong enough in vision strength or in base curvature.. They finally did! So happy! Mine lasts three months, each pair.
That's outstanding! What brand were you fit with?
Darci Stewart what brand?? I've always been told they don't make color contacts for astigmatism.
Brittany Price you’re right! There are no color contacts for astigmatism as of right now. However, it’s rumored that Alcon, the maker of air optix colors, is looking into creating air optix colors for astigmatism. This would be the first colored contact lens for astigmatism!
Great, thanks!!
@introWellness any update on the toric colored contacts
thank u for such an informative video!!!..i was planning to switch to toric lenses from usual glasses and my power is -5.5 and -6.5 and CYL for both eyes -1.75..But now i am afraid if tat decision would be a wrong one since many people are complaining about the blurred vison associated with toric lenses,,wat should i do?
helpful video!
i have a question
i have cyl power of -0.75 in both eyes , currently i am using toric lenses
but i wish to use normal lenses because it is way cheaper. can i do so?
I had astigmatism but only myeft eye with blurred eye (left) but my right eye has no condition
Whenever I wear Lenses outside office I dont feel any ussue..everything is clear..As soon as I enter my Office ..my Lenses gets blurry when I contentrate on anything cintinously for 10 seconds..plz suggest what to do
I'm sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, this is the case for many people who wear specialty contact lenses (including those that correct for astigmatism). The best way to go about this is to provide this direct feedback to your eye doctor and see if they can modify your prescription accordingly!
hello and kind regards, with +1.75 diopter on both eyes and -3.0 power of astigmatism (according to an another doctor - 2.50) do I have to wear RGP lenses or I can wear toric contact lenses instead? i would like to wear toric ones since they're softer and also i would not quit my glasses. I would wear glasses indoors and lenses outdoors. thanks in advance.
Look into the new multifocal toric soft contact lens options from Bausch and Lomb (Ultra Multifocal Toric) and Cooper Vision (Biofinity Toric Multifocal).
Hey! I have a stigma in my right eye but wear toric daily contacts in both. (Recommended from my eye doctor) I noticed when I take my contacts out at night and go to read or look at my phone I can’t see up close. I only have farsighted vision, not close up. My eyes have been dry as well and I tried using lubricant eye drops. why is my up close vision terrible when I take my contacts facts out, especially when the contacts are far cited, not nearsighted? Also, when I wear my prescription glasses I see perfectly far and nearsightedness. They are not bifocals , just for farsighted.
Astigmatism can impact both your distance and near vision! Also, contact lenses can dry out your eyes. I recommend talking with your eye doctor about your options.
IntroWellness at the eye doctors right now! Lol thanks so much
I have weighted toric lenses they Aline themselves and I've been struggling with taking them in and out because of them being weighted it's hard
RYAN BOTKIN which brand?
IntroWellness I don't remember what brand I didn't pay attention just got em two days ago and the original container was thrown away at the eye doctor
RYAN BOTKIN I recommend reaching out to your eye doctor to learn more about alternative lens options that maybe easier for you to remove from your eyes
Niye renklisini cikarmassaniz su lenslerin seffaf gozleri yorgun gosteriyo
A Good Sales Pitch, for contacts.
I am testing the Clariti 1day Vs. Myday Toric Vs. Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe for Astigmatism. I like how the Oasis fit, but it is not as clear as the Clariti 1day. I will try the myday next to see how they compare.
Do you know which one you prefer and why? I want your opinion on these and other suggestions as well. I only have Astigmatism
Thank you! and great video
Oasys 1-day tends to be the most comfortable of the lenses mentioned. In regards to vision, you should follow up with your eye doctor to see if they can modify the fit/prescription to get you to see clearer out of the Oasys 1-day.
Does the b&L soft toric lens automatically fit into the eye or do I need to manually fit it perfectly before wearing? I heard of some dash lasor lines on the lens. What are they?
The latest B+L toric lenses (Ultra for Astigmatism and Biotrue ONEday for Astigmatism) settle automatically shortly after insertion. Your eye doctor should confirm how they settle and if adjustments need to be made before signing off the your prescription.
I have on right eye Cyl - 0,50, Ax 180 and left eye Cyl - 0.75, Ax 180. I have glasses but they are sphere and they give me dizzignes. I can whear contact lenses?
Yes, contact lenses are an option.
I have astigmatism but my doctor have referred me copper vision lens which is basically not a toric lens.I am wearing these lens for 4 months but I can't car number from far aur something written in small .what should I do
First off, Biofinity is a monthly replacement lens. I recommend going back to your eye doctor (or a new one) to learn more about your contact lens options!
I got my new toric (astigmatism) lenses, and unfortunately, the right one didn't settle perfectly. :(
There are a number of toric contact lens options available. If the one prescribed isn't working, revisit your eye doctor to see what other options will work for you!
I have really severe astigmatism in my right eye, with it being 0.25+ sphere and -4.5-4.75 cylinder. My left eye is 0.5+ sphere and -2.75 cylinder. I’m really wanting contact lenses because I live an active lifestyle and I don’t like wearing glasses much anymore (they get annoying). Is it suitable to get lenses or is my prescription too high?
Look into Biofinity Toric XR
Cant myopia of -2 can use it
Why were most contact lenses discontinued for farsighted people over +6?
Acuvue changed the name and charges 10.00 more for the same thing.
What is the big deal, first color and then the big corperations stoped seling in US.
Hard to say. My guess is that old contact lenses are being d/c because lenses with newer technology (that provides better vision/eye health) have replaced them.
Im +6 far sighted do you also have astigmatism ?
@@roxannemua9350 If you are farsighted and have astigmatism as well consider buying Biofinity toric and toric XR.
Where I live regular contacts lenses for a year supply of them costs around $200. But for me since I have Astigmatism, a year supply of contacts are around $400 and above. It's crazy. I'll just stick to my glasses😁. I would like to get the LASIK eye procedure but I have the fear of something might go wrong and i might not be able to see again
_Explicitly Savage_ astigmatism contacts often cost more than regular (spherical) contacts because of the design. Glasses are great and LASIK might be a great option (depending if you're a candidate). Where do you live?
IntroWellness New Hampshire
_Explicitly Savage_ I had lasik 12 years ago I had 20-20 vision and they told me that as you age the astigmatism comes back and they were right it’s not as it used to be (2.75& 3.75) but now I use glasses at 1.25 and they told me that I need to use my glasses to stop it or contact lenses but with the surgery the cornea gets flat a little bit so sometimes won’t be comfortable anymore it’s a though for me now
Holy shit dude I pay around 88 bucks for a year supply of contacts and I have astigmatism
cute & vicious where?
I have SPH -7 , CYL -1 and Axis 180 degrees. Can I wear normal contact lens or would I need to wear toric lenses?
Ideally, toric. However, you might be OK in spherical contact lenses. Best to consult with your eye doctor for a more custom recommendation.
i have a toric lense in my right eye. I just gave a chance to lenses 3 days ago after wearing glasses for 15 years. My left eye without astigmatism is okay, sometimes i feel it in my eye, it will settle down and my eye will get use to it soon I hope, but my right eye with astigmatism is always blurry :( hope it will settle down too after few days. I was so hyped about it and now I am quite sad :/
I spend like 8 to 12 hours in front of the computer daily, but I am also an active athlete. I will probably use them only for few hours in front of computer everyday to adapt and wear them mostly outside. Later, I will not use them while on computer.
Thank you for sharing. If you're still experiencing issues with your lenses, consult with your eye doctor to determine if another brand might work better. Of course, things always get better with wear when it comes to being a new contact lens wearer.
Of course, if the toric lens gives you headaches, you can then convert to Spherical Equivalent.
Otis Brown Absolutely! However, converting to the spherical equivalent works best for patients with low amounts of astigmatism.
And how about high cylindrical power
I have -0.75 CYL on my right eye and -1.75 CYL on the left side. My right eye has a SPH of -4.50 & my left eye has a SPH of -3.50. I really want to buy these colored contacts, they have my prescription but they're not toric. Will I still be able to use them? Or is it impossible :(
It’s possible but you won’t see nearly as clear as if you got non colored contacts lenses for astigmatism!
IntroWellness | Wellness Reviews, Comparisons, and Information Ok thank you. Will it damage my eye or anything? Besides not seeing as clear
@@ivyslotus no.
IntroWellness | Wellness Reviews, Comparisons, and Information So I really won't be able to see if I don't buy colored lenses that are toric? Even if the lens that I purchase have my base curve, diameter, and power?
i recently got new toric contact lenses but i keep getting fluctuating vision in both eyes which makes them pretty much useless. i have to press on my eyelid to e able to see clearly for a few minutes, is this because my contacts dont fit right??
william deng it’s a possibility. The fit or prescription could be off. This is worth exploring further with your eye doctor.
@@RyanReviewsOptometry wow thanks for replying. i think its the base curve because my prescripton is custom made since i have high astigamatism. i never got it fitted, i didnt know i had to until i searched youtube. i guess i have to go back to my eye doctor on saturday and order new ones now :(
@@williamdeng7524no problem. That would be the best place to trouble shoot. Hope it goes well!
How does one go from a little bit of astigmatism a year and a half ago to now having to wear astigmatism contracts? Honestly I’m glad I changed eye doctors.
It's not uncommon. Particularly, the astigmatism was always there but you were accommodating through some of it.
IntroWellness | Wellness Reviews, Comparisons, and Information Okay that makes sense. I always had issues being able to see clearly with contacts. With my prior eye doctor I was told I needed to get use to them.
@@Hopeguz3 they need the money.
Actually, astigmatism can change rapidly and often worsens with age..
I have a astigmatism and i always use eyeglasses idk why my mom wouldn't let me use contact lenses
Kerby Bacotot there are a lot of great options available - you should reconsider!
I went in yesterday for contacts and I found out I have astigmatism I’ve been waiting for contacts since I was little idk if I can were them and this was helpful
Soft astigmatism contacts are just like regular soft (non-astigmatism) contacts, they just have a different design. Glad this video helped! I'm sure you'll do great!
IntroWellness Do the contacts fix your astigmatism temporarily or permanently?
Michael Vey contacts for astigmatism are designed to correct for your astigmatism (not permanently fix it). If you get refractive surgery (LASIK or PRK), those are designed to permanently fix visual conditions like astigmatism.
IntroWellness Don't glasses just do the same thing as contacts for astigmatism, they correct your astigmatism while you have them on?
Michael Vey Yes, that’s correct.
Wish I could wear the same contacts for long but can't I've tried lots of them and they don't work. Maybe I should get daily ones. Thank u for this video.
There are a lot of great daily toric (for astigmatism) contact lens options out there. I highly recommend chatting with your eye doctor about your options!
1 day ACUVUE MOIST for astigmatism with LACREON is soft lens or hard lens
It's a very popular soft contact lens.
I tried the B&L Toric contacts, but as I blink, the vision keeps fluctuating like you are on drugs or something.
Which brand? The newest generation of B+L lenses stabilizes pretty well. If they aren’t working for you, ask your doctor to fit you in biofinity toric or acuvue oasys for astigmatism.
I have high astigmatism and even glasses are not giving me perfect vision. Why so? Will contact lenses help?
Hard to say but a comprehensive eye exam with a corneal topography assessment could help.
I got the same issue. Glasses fit well but not totally relaxed and perfect vision. With contacts instead (first try done this week) I kept getting blurry vision, non-stop. Optician made me buy the "Dailies Aquacomfort plus toric".
With this trouble I had, now he suggested to try monthly toric lenses; he said monthly contacts are thicker and more stable but I doubt it!
Instead of making me wear trials from the start, he made me directly BUY the Dailies... I am so angry.
Is it true that monthly contacts are thicker and, most of all, more stable than those dailies? I dunno which one he'll order but I assume Air Optix toric.
Which last longest?
Gediminas Jesinas for mainstream contacts, recommend monthly toric lens options like biofinity toric, ultra for astigmatism, air optix for astigmatism and acuvue vita for astigmatism.
Mine said I have astigmatisms but I can see perfectly fine close but not far
You have myopia and astigmatism ….
Please Tell me the best lenses for astigmatism :)
You have a lot of great options! If you’re looking for a monthly lens, Biofinity Toric or Ultra for Astigmatism. If you’re looking for a 2 week lens, Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. If you’re looking for a daily lens, Acuvue Oasys 1 Day for Astigmatism.
IntroWellness thank you! What do you think about these:
MyDay toric
Purevision2 HD for Astigmatism
Avaira Vitality toric
AirOptix for Astigmatism
?
Professor myday toric is your best bet there!
IntroWellness thank you for your answer! It seems that you know a lot about lenses. Have you tested all these?
Yes. I've had the opportunity to research and fit all of these lenses :)
I think I might have astigmatism.
We recommend visiting an eye doctor near you to learn more :)
