    You deserve a standing ovation! I bought lenses and was being trained in putting them on by the shop's optometrist. I visited her twice yet i was not able to put them on even after 20 unsuccessful attempts and she got really irritated with me and said that I'd never be able to use them. I came home and tried putting them on by her way and still was not able to. I thought i am the one doing it wrong and got really sad after trying hard numerous times. Then i just surfed video tutorials and found yours, watched it and tried..and voila! They were on the iris right in the first attempt. Not even a min passed by. Thank you so so so much! Luckily, he let me go home with them in under the promise that if it took me 5 hours, those things would come out. I just got contacts yesterday. I have very long, thick eyelashes, which is usually a blessing but was a curse in this situation. The contacts would catch on my lashes, fold, or turn inside out. I tried holding my upper eyelid in place, but my eye would reflexively try to blink and I couldn’t get the contacts in. I wasn’t scared to put them in, it was just really hard when my lashes were in the way. It took forever to get them in at the doctor’s office.
    I tried again today, fully expecting to be there for 30 minutes. I curled my upper eyelashes to keep them out of the way, then did what you said (holding only the bottom eyelid open, putting the contact on the side of your finger, and un-focusing the eye), and within two minutes, I had both of them in! Thank you SO much for this video. You are a life-saver (or eye-saver).

      B9King937 It works, but I personally have a lot more trouble taking them out than putting them in. I drag it away to the corner of my eye, and when the lens is out of place and folds slightly, I pinch it and take it out. But sometimes the lens just doesn't want to come out and by the time I remove them, my eyes are a little red. If it's just not working and you're getting frustrated, take a couple minutes' break and try again.

    • @B9King937
      @B9King937 Před 8 lety

      Samantha Fee Yeah, someone just responded to me on this comment section saying you still need to pinch them to take them out. It's tough because I drag it down, but the moment you take your finger off it slides back up.

    It was my first time trying contacts today, I had watched this video a week prior and decided to try this method for my first shot and believe me, my optometrist was speechless when she saw this technique, and said that I was a pro already when I removed the lenses in one go! Thank you kind lady for showing us this method and happy clear-sightedness to everyone else watching!

    I'm 40, started wearing glasses about 5-6 years ago.
    Just over a week ago was my first ever experience trying contacts.
    I couldn't get the pinching right with my right eye. I was squeezing it and messing with it way too much. Red, irritated eye for 2 days. Wore them again the 3rd day, same issues, and couldn't wear them again for the next day.
    Watched your video, and not only did they go in much easier with your instructions, but came out SO much easier as well!!

    Dr. S. You deserve some kind of medal. Today I spent an hour at the optometrist’s office being taught how to put in lenses. I was SO unsuccessful, they wouldn’t let me take lenses home and I had to make another one hour “training” appointment. First off, I know this is going to sound mega stupid, but I struggled for 5 minutes each time I tried, to get the lenses out of the blister pack. Then you come along and dump it into your hand solving my first problem! Secondly, I have had a brow lift and for whatever reason, that contortionist move of having your arm draped across your forehead, it just didn’t work for me! My skin is tight and nothing I did allowed me to hold my upper eyelid open. I cannot wait to go back on Tuesday and try your method. I’m really excited and I know it will work!! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!! 💜

Some days I even knew I wouldn't wear contacts because I maybe had a lot to do and putting my contacts on top of that made it so stressful that I would just have a mental block and not function properly.

    At my 1st contact trial appt, could I hell as like get them near my eye the way they were trying to show me by pulling your top lid open etc, apparently the usual way. Came away feeling so stupid and defeated I couldnt get something so simple near my eye due to a stupid fear of anything being near them.
    Thought to myself there cant just be 1 way or no way, so looked on good ole youtube and your vid was the 1st to pop up. Even trying without contacts finally a way to get a finger near my eye without a major panic and my eyelid wanting to clamp shut on it. Called my opticians to ask them to help me this way at next appt. Apparently none of them found it easier! Me, within a few mins got the 1st one in, then the 2nd, fanbloodytastic! Took them out as shown in the vid too as youve to practice taking them out n putting back in and it was so easy. I was so frustrated with putting my contacts in, I tried putting my lenses in the way they taught me, (Holding my top eyelashes up and pulling the bottom lid with me middle finger) It took me about an hour using that method. But this, it took me atleast 5 minutes to put them on! HUGE THANK YOU!

      Dont worry that was my problem in the beginning, till my eye got “used” to the touching. It can easy take an hour for some people, my optician had to insert my left one because i just couldn’t figure it out after the easy right one

    Thank you, Dr. S! I am forever grateful that I found your video. I would have never continued with contacts had I followed previous (highly uncomfortable) directions.

    I left the optometrist feeling like a complete failure trying to put in and take out contacts for the first time. I told them to forget it, this just wasn't going to work for me. They told me to take a breather and come back in a week to try it again. I went home and found this video and IT WORKED! I don't know why everyone doesn't teach this method, it's so much less scary and awkward - no wrapping your arm around your head to try and wrench open your eyelid. Easy, quick, painless - THANK YOU!!!!!
