How to Program your BERNINA Foot Control

- Gayle from BERNINA of Naperville shows you how to program the foot control using the new BERNINA 770 PLUS Quilter's Edition and the Sit Down Longarm machine, the Q 16 PLUS. This feature can also be found on the following machines:
B 480 and B 535 (Thread cutting and knotting only)

It would be great to see some videos for the 830e. I am new to this machine and it would be so helpful.
Unfortunately this machine is no longer in the line and we do not have one to play with. However we have tons of content on the 889 which is similar
THANK YOU! :) Ive been wishing my 570 QE would let me cut the thread with my pedal.
I notice that when your machine cuts you still have a long thread left when you pull the fabric away. How do you set the machine to leave the thread long so you can then hold the thread when start sewing again so you don’t get nesting?
Did you say this works for the 480 and above? I have a 530 and an 830. I can't find on the 530 where this setting would be. I do have the foot control with the heel tap.
On the new line machines and above. The 830 and 530 are no longer in the current line.
I have a Bernina 750 QE and would like to totally disengage any function of the heel tapping on the foot control. Is that possible? ( when I’m sewing long strips and speeding along, I frequently , unintentionally hit the heel and the machine stops, etc).
The B 750 does not have foot programming functionality.
can i program my B 475-QE? i just purchased the heel tap foot control and i hope it will work. i will try tonight. p.s. i love your quilting gloves.
Hi Jill, The B 475 Foot control cannot be programmed. That feature is on the B 480, B 570 and higher. And only new models. The quilting gloves can be found here: www.berninaofnaperville.com/search?q=regis
When you use the knot feature on the q series do you get tiny stitches in the beginning?
No. The not on a q series is for pulling up the thread to knot.
Hi Gina - I’m just making sure I can program the foot control on a 750QE that may be 9 years old.
Hi this is Gayle, The B 750 machine does not have the technology to have the foot control programmable. This was not made available until the 770 model.

Is this an option on the Artista 730? I can’t find the gear icon / option anywhere.
No unfortunately the technology wasn’t available when the artista 730 was produced.
Does this work on the 750QE? Can't find the setting.
Needle up/down works but if you want to program you would need to upgrade your machine to a new B 480 B 485, B 535, B 540, B 570, B 590, B 740, B 735, B 770, B 790 PRO or Plus or B 880 Plus.
Where do I find this feature on the 535?
The B 535 does not have the programmable foot option. It does, however, provide the needle up/down feature on the heel part of the foot control.
What is the lowest model that does this?
@@Sundanceshowpigs the BERNINA 480 or if you want to stay in 5 Series the B 570. In addition the new B 735 does NOT have this feature either.
FYI.. I have a 535 and do not have that feature on my machine.
