A piece of my soul died when the world lost this amazing man. A truly gifted musician and a humble, unassuming guy. RIP❤

Chris was an intelligent, spiritual, aware man with music in his dna. He wrote poetry, melody and vocals that are mind blowing. He was THE un-rock star. Humble and kind.

Chris Cornell had the most amazing voice and range. Every cover I have heard him do is just phenomenal. I swear music died a bit when we lost him. RIP Chris. Another one gone way too soon. ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻

Prince wrote this for his maid/housekeeper. He never performed it, He gave it to Sinead O'Conner to perform and make her own. Now Chris made it so VERY special! RIP Chris Cornell. Nothing will ever compare to you!

One of the greatest songs of Chris Cornell.

  • @therosabella67
    @therosabella67 Před 4 měsíci +9

Yes it is a Price song. He wrote it and performed it also. He gave Sinead O’Conner permission to record it. Taylor Dayne did a live version after Prince died and she tells the story of how she met Prince. Amazing story and great performance by her.

Chris Cornell was actually a good friend of Jeff Buckley, and if there was anyone anti music industry it was him. Would be cool to see more of Jeff on this channel :)

Actually a group called “The Family” released this Prince written song in 1985 before Sinead. Sinead has the most popular version, but this version by Chris is my favorite!

  • @timtam79

I love this version of this song. Chris Cornell was amazing! This series is knocking it out of the park! Prince wrote this song. And check out Prince's guitar work at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." When he's finished he throws the guitar in the air and leaves the stage.

Please react to Chris Cornell in Audioslave - “Like a Stone”…… it’s amazing vocals and one of the best guitar solos!!!! RIP CHRIS…. One of the best vocalists of all time- and no one can copy his voice! The texture, the range, the rasp!!!

Yes, it’s Prince. And you should check out his version with Rosie Gaines. But Chris does it hell of a justice.💜☔️

Watch the official Prince official studio version that was released posthumously for the most original version. Nothing compares to Chris Cornell's cover either. Sure miss Chris Cornell and Prince.

Sinead O'Conner made this song famous. Prince wrote it and originally recorded it for one of his albums. So any version after that is considered a Prince cover.

You are thinking of the Sinead O’Connor version which Prince gave her permission to record. She had a #1 smash hit with it but Chris’ version IMO is the best.

Prince wrote and recorded this song first. Sinead O'Connor covered the song and made it famous. You should do more than a cursory google search for your info. If you'd taken even 5 seconds to read more than her name, you would have gotten this info on your own.

Now we’re stuck with artist like Sam Smith, Lil Nas crap and Doja Cat 🤮.
You should check out all Chris Cornell’s acoustic work. It’s phenomenal. Like his cover’s of Billie Jean and Redemption Song to name 2.

Some advice: Research the song origin before reacting. Stopping the song so quickly and going on about "Is this Prince? Is this Prince?" just totally killed the vibe as well as your reaction.
