- A 10 minute montage of the build of my favorite ever "daily driver" which I am taking off the road for winter (Nov 2009) to allow me to actually make a start on other projects. She will no doubt be back on the road again in 2010 somepoint! But this video will keep me smiling until then!
Car was recently rolling roaded and on a pessimistic set up got 245 Bhp with over 200lbft of torque at 1000 rpm. Very happy with her. Now has full stainless manifolds since this video was made!
Very well done - lovely car. Fabulous that you kept its Opel Ascona identity.

@spinlessbastard1 Cheers for the comments. The yellow one has a pontiac sunbird turbo engine imported from (your?) USA. It's running bigger wheels again, but not excessively so.

@AmazingAaron98 Not really, just my cars. Working hard on getting my mum's car on the road for the summer - it's the yellow cav you can see getting painted in my other vids. I got it when she passed away when I was just a boy.
I had three of them............84 1.3S, 85 1.6S and 88 1.6i. I thought the car was named Vauxhall Cavalier in England. Here in germany it's Opel Ascona C. Don't knew that Asconas were exported to England.
The original 14"s look great with the car lowered. They're so striking and suit the car perfectly. The Ronals are nice too, at least you didn't go for daft 17's or 18's !

Had an Ascona SR back when was 18 a long long long time ago, brakes were horrid as servo on the opposite side of the car, and had only a drivers door mirror, this was the norm, but great car, yours is amazing.
Upgrading to cav turbo calipers really makes a difference, and some of the wooden-ness of the pedal is lost thankfully. Took me the stopping from 154mph on autobahn to realise stock brakes had to go / had gone. Hopefully get this one out sometime soon so If you're in the SW UK you'd be welcome to come have a nose!

They sold 1 million in UK alone and were also built there. They can call them what they like.. ;) it was a world car... Also worth remembering GM gave Opel Vauxhall names too.. e.g. Astra!

Nice car. I have ascona 16n and my dream to install compressor or instal x25xe. I love ascona much more than vectra a,b,c. It's my second car and it has it's own character and feelings.

where was the scrapyard you got it from? looks like there is some other worthy MK2 Cavalier projects there. Well done though that car is mint!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The owners have loads of parks kicking about from the forum: mk2cav.com and yeah, a couple of them do have a few breakers kicking around as parts are much harder to come by now. The car has been at Billing for a good few years, but hopefully one of the others will be there this year. Check out the Billing vids and it's always there somewhere! ;)

nice your 1.8 8v have 115hp in brasil this engine have 96 and i think about 106 in the sports version called S/R and we also have a 2.0 8v with 110hp
Great car. Alot of good work put into it. Hope to see it when I go to Billing next year. By the way, I noticed 3 or 4 other MK2 Cavaliers at the start of your video. Are they being preserved aswell or are they been used for breakers. Does the ownersclub have any breakers yards with any MK2 Cavaliers ?
Depends if they have sat in a scrap-yard for years in sun with no cleaning they go dry hehe
If you have any spare time (which i doubt!) you would be useful doing pop videos/promos- that's actually quite well choreographed!
Back to the car- christ it looked ropey when you started on it. Better ones have been crushed. Wow.
Hope you transplanted the PAS otherwise you must have arms like popeye..

thank you for your replay 🙂 I have a opel ascona c limusine 1.3S engine I wanted to get ride of the old engine and make a swap so do you have any sugestions what engine that I can actualy use? its a real shame the car is original but the old engine is weak so dont know what to do? so for any help I wuld by great full

hummm i looke the video again your car have electronic fuel injection(it's a LE jetronic ?) we have the 2 liter engine with this injection with 121hp

I like the Ascona look in Europe while the Chevy Cavalier in the US looks unattractive. I wish they kept the Opel look in the U.S. version.
