14 out of 14 has sadly been overshadowed by the early exit in the youth cup. Still been a brilliant season

trent kone-doherty looks like a gem for liverpool, but we just look so stacked with talent. finley mcallister was ace tonight, as well as jace and amass. With shae, fletcher, elyh, williams, this team is so insane, no wonder they havent dropped a point. look forward to seeing a lot of these lads make their way into the first team.
They will be sold gradually with a buy back clauses for a few by Ineos as it's the only way to raise money for FFP. No one wants our overpaid senior team

But what they do bring is value, they can be sold off and helped the club financially. Even if just 1-2 players got through to the 1st team and be a very good PL player, that's already a success .

That's because the senior wingers pretty much only _pass/cross_ the ball in from the wing as a last resort.

@@skeepth7598 mate united absolutely ruled the game for a good 70 minutes of it, liverpool were just clinical on the chances they did get. But united were miles the better team, which is not a surprise considering 14/14 in for them.

tbf, other clubs academies aren't the greatest - liverpool do have a few quality talents (thats painful to say) but united have have always had the best academy - almost half the players to ever play in the senior team came from there - Forson was number 249

Even though Man utd have won the fa youth cup and this match , on the professional level Liverpool's academy performs better, probably because of a better team environment, better guidance from coaches and the veterans, Look at Trent , Conor Bradley , Curtis Jones , Jarell Quansah and you can see that Man United are losing diamonds when they choose to buy risky expensive players instead of using their youth.
It’s because Liverpool focus on the individual players development and fast track them through the age groups, if they show real promise. It’s done with the idea of integrating them into the 1st team squad.
I actually think most clubs do this, including United as they’ve several youth players in their squad, it’s just United are run terribly and haven’t had a fixed identity for more than a few seasons in recent times.
At Liverpool the style has been the same for ten years so the youth players know what role/tactics they have to till. That’s a huge advantage to have if u wanna actually break into the team, along with having a manager that wants a reason to play them.
Agree Doherty looks quick and good on the ball,but Utd should have had a lot more . There is real talent in this squad , potential for more than one to make it to the first team.
Williams looks good. He doesn't look special but he does the basics very well which is what we're missing. Good cross on him and a good striker of the ball. Wheatley needs 10 chances to score 1 though. Jayce Fitzgerald and MacAllister look proper too.

Koumas, Kone-Docherty, Dann and lyoni ... at this level its all about individuals, as its the individual that will progress not the team ... results are ok but not the be all ... Liverpool have a great crop of younger players come through as can be seen in some recent 1st team performances and there are more in the wings ...
It I’ve never seen so many crazy talented kids at Liverpool youth level that look like they could actually move into the 1st squad seamlessly. Few have had bad luck with growing pains or injury and still there’s so many to pick out as the level of quality has gone up massively. @@jeanlawley6483

A number of the Liverpool under 18's have moved up to the under 21's due to many now part of senior squad.
United's u18 squad is very young apart from today. They have given the most amount of minutes to 15-16 year old players and that's without their scouse star Shea Lacey.
Tbf if their u18 are mainly 16yr olds I’d be worried. Hate to think what that says about the u21s. If they had 18/19 year old tearing the u21s up u gotta ask why they aren’t in the 1st team. United are awful at the moment.

Pity these u/18's will not come through for utd - they either seem to land up in a life of crime, or slip through the system and go elsewhere, unlike the Liverpool youngsters who actually make it to the first team and shine there (Elliott, Jones, TAA, Bradley, Quansah, etc)
